Abstract
A Simultaneously Dual Circularly Polarized planar monopole antenna for broad band wireless applications is presented. The antenna is compact and occupies less space (60mm×60mm×l.6mm) and suitable for low cost PCB fabrication techniques. The orthogonal circular polarizations on the opposite sides of the antenna are achieved essentially by placing the two perpendicular monopoles of almost same dimensions along with strategically shaped ground. The role of the dimensions of the ground plane, monopole and asymmetry in producing orthogonal fields is explained. The simulated impedance bandwidth is 77% and axial ratio bandwidth of (AR<3 dB) 20% is achieved. The antenna could possibly be useful in the severe multipath wireless environments. The common bandwidth of 20% is achieved for circular polarization.
