Owing to the large variety of platforms available for smart phones, as well as the different ways that data and context information is represented, it is natural to think of middleware solutions that the developers of these systems can use while creating their applications. In this paper, we highlight the issues which should be addressed by middleware designed for mobile social ecosystems, taking into account the heterogeneity of both deployment nodes and available data, the intrinsic distributed nature of mobile social applications, as well as users’ security concerns. As part of our ongoing effort to develop this middleware, we present a comprehensive model to represent mobile social ecosystems and the interactions possible in them, and show how to exploit it in a representative scenario.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131000475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Regression test selection is a key technique to test case reuse. Program slicing is one of these commonly used regression test selection techniques. The proposed slicing techniques for regression test selection are primarily for procedural program. Hierarchy slice, which is used for object-oriented programs according to the logical hierarchy of program, is able to compute slice step by step based on hierarchical slicing criterion. Compared to traditional slicing, hierarchical slicing technique can produce more precise slice especially for object-oriented program. This paper applies hierarchical slicing technique to regression test selection in order to improve the precision of regression test selection and address the problem of level. The approach computes hierarchy slice on the modified parts of program, then selects test cases from different levels in terms of test case coverage. This approach can select test cases from high level to low level of program. The initial experimental results present the effectiveness of applying hierarchical slicing in regression test selection.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129930518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They rely on the analysis of the impact of changes in source code artifacts, identifying corresponding parts of software to retest. While effective in minimizing the amount of testing required to validate code changes, they do not leverage on specification-level design and requirements concerns that motivated these changes. Model-based testing approaches support a top-down (or black box) testing approach, where design and requirements models are used in support of test generation. They augment code-based approaches with the ability to test from a higher-level design and requirements perspective. In this paper, we present a model-based regression testing and prioritization approach that efficiently selects test cases for regression testing based on different concerns. It relies on traceability links between models, test cases and code artifacts, together with user-defined properties associated to model elements. In particular we describe how to support concern-based regression testing and prioritization using TDE/UML, an extensible model-based testing environment.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114788654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All agile processes resolve a paradox of requirements engineering –the need to formulate a clear vision of a system in a world of constantly changing requirements. The fundamental principle underlying requirements engineering is the assumption that a system should be clearly specified before its design and implementation. The Goal Oriented Requirements Engineering method identifies the requirements in terms of goals which are well understood by the stakeholders and the goals are generally extracted from the stakeholders. But extracting these goals is a challenging task in the goal oriented methods. In the present paper, we propose an Agile Technique for Agent Based Goal Elicitation (ATABGE), based on the mechanisms of agile practices and approaches, for extracting the goals from stakeholders. While extracting the goals, the high level goals are decomposed/refined/broken to get the lower level goals/sub-goals involving active participation of stakeholders through the process of Goal decomposition/refinement/splitting involving Agents. The methodology is validated through a case study.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124254028","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, a firewall should be tested with respect to its intended security policy. We propose a feedback control based approach for test case generation to detect mismatches between firewall’s expected and executed behavior. In the proposed approach, abstract test cases are generated from firewall decision diagrams and instantiated with the test input values chosen using the proposed feedback control based selection algorithm. A case study is presented to validate the presented approach.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"10 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132974118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Developers need to conduct a more rigorous and systematic identification, elicitation, and analysis of IT service requirements than ever before so that the resulting IT services are closely aligned with the enterprise business requirements. Research in Services Science from the business and management discipline has mostly focused on the delivery and management of services experience from the business perspective. Much of the research focus in Service Oriented Computing (SOC) so far has been on the design and delivery of services (especially Web Services), but engineering of IT service requirements has received much less attention. The overall aims of the proposed research is the design and development of an integrated framework and its supporting toolset for the systematic identification, elicitation, and analysis of IT service requirements that satisfy consumers’ needs and are closely aligned with their enterprise business goals.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116969682","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adaptive Random Testing (ART) improves the fault-detection capability of RT by employing the location information of previously executed test cases. Compared with RT, test cases generated in ART are more evenly spread across the input domain. ART has conventionally been applied to programs that have only numerical input types, because the distance between numerical inputs is readily measurable. The vast majority of computer programs, however, involve non-numerical inputs. To apply ART to these programs requires the development of effective new distance measures. Different from those measures that focus on the concrete values of program inputs, in this paper we propose a method to measure the distance using coverage information. The proposed method enables ART to be applied to all kinds of programs regardless of their input types. Empirical studies are further conducted for the branch coverage Manhattan distance measure using the replace and space programs. Experimental results show that, compared with RT, the proposed method significantly reduces the number of test cases required to detect the first failure. This method can be directly applied to prioritize regression test cases, and can also be incorporated into code-based and model-based test case generation tools.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"33 5 Pt B 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116136194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to achieve this goal, many software effort estimation methods have been proposed. Unfortunately, none of these methods developed thus far have been able to offer consistent prediction accuracy in all cases. In this paper, therefore, we integrate several software effort estimation methods and assign linear weights for combinations. It is noted that the weight assignment is based on the outcome of single methods. Seven public datasets and three criteria are used to evaluate the accuracy of our combinational models. Experimental results show that the proposed combination models are a useful method for improving estimation accuracy.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117187592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Users mostly use the media gathered during events, while sharing them socially. In this paper, we propose a semantic based model that involves several domain-based shared ontologies and use them to investigate image relationships among experiences. The proposed model is called Semantic Image Retrieval Model (SIRM) for sharing knowledge in social networks. In addition, we concentrate on a “Visit to zoo” scenario as a case study to show suitability and usability of the ontology based model for meeting requirements of sharing experiences among users of a social network. SIRM can also be used for different environments and scenarios in order to share experiences in a social network, build a knowledge-base of annotated media gathered during experiences by the people who visited the same site, or simply store the gathered media intelligently for future reference.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126970576","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
