Service identification is one of the core activities in developing Service oriented systems. To identify proper services, business requirements and business change factors should be analyzed because the ultimate aim of a service oriented system is to achieve business requirements and business agility. We propose a service identification method based on scenario modeling and a conceptual framework to elicit possible business changes. Traceability among business requirements, business changes and the identified services are also supported by our method.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114055136","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we enhance the basic effort estimation methodology to align to more requirements centric approach for development, testing and deployment. The paper is structured with best practices to ease projects that involve multiple estimation cycles with extremely high requirements volatility. The estimation approach and practices mentioned can be used as a reusable approach for estimations across multiple COTS integrations.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125954514","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

UDDI and WSDL do not provide grounds to find appropriate web services at the required accuracy and Quality of Service (QoS). This article discusses a Semantic Search Agent (SSA) approach that discovers appropriate web services according to their semantic description. QoS requirements and input/output information of the fetched Web services are compared against client requirements. A QoS broker-based scheme is considered as basis of a broker/dispatcher model which incorporates a multi-class queuing model. We augmented the model with semantic technologies, discussed implementation, and exemplified its use. Performance of the system in terms of throughput and response times was analyzed and simulated. Both set of values for a sample system configuration was found almost identical, also identifying request levels causing saturation.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"65 12","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113961626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The vision monitoring system, which is intended to complement system monitoring tools, such as IPMI and Nagios, has the additional benefit of enabling continuous monitoring of the external status of data centers. This system, which is based on vision transformation techniques, involves three main steps: camera calibration, where the characterized physical point is determined in the data center by the setting of the system parameters; the development of vision transformation subroutines, which are aimed at transforming relatively large images into vertically expanded image streams; and the development of image analysis subroutines for the purpose of investigating images that are transformed for the data center status extraction. This Falcon Eye system of this work is implemented with the aid of a cloud computing platform, called iCube Cloud.","PeriodicalId":121135,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 34th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130595369","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
