Abstract Since the 60´s in the twentieth century, Lanzarote has been fully integrated into international tourism. This has entailed a profound transformation of its territorial, demographic, economic, social and cultural reality and also a laborious construction of its image. Photography has helped consolidate and disseminate tourist-oriented routes, iconographies and perceptions. At the same time, other photographic proposals have been extended that bring us closer to new possibilities for dialog with the island. They have served to give importance to other topics and have indicated other possibilities to look at. Their approaches are enriching because they bring essential and human leads and questions, highlight the natural and cultural interest of Lanzarote and invite us to reflect from knowledge and respect. This article analyzes and shows the contributions of Carlos A. Schwartz and Hamish Fulton.","PeriodicalId":11829,"journal":{"name":"Espacio Tiempo y Forma. The contents of this correspondence reveal aspects of interest in the artistic activity of the Canarian painter and the work of Roig’s dissemination of contemporary art. A second part of the article examines the contents of a text prepared by Millares on his work sent to Roig and today preserved in the foundation that bears his name in Valencia. Abstract The spare gunpowder warehouses built in the fortresses of the Modern Age belong to an architectural layout scarcely studied. As for the reduced dimensions of the tinderboxes, such gunpowder warehouses fulfilled the function of ammunition depot for a battery, or specific area in the enclosure, thus facilitating its quick and convenient supply. Throughout the present work we will address the analysis of some of them as integral part of the fortified structure of Melilla, as is the case in Florentina‘s warehouse, and the spare gunpowder warehouse in the Royal Battery, as well as Victoria Grande‘s fortress, the last two work undertaken by the engineer Juan Martin Zermeno in the first third of the 18th century. Its recent restoration revealed the need for historians and archaeologists in order to interpret them in their various variables. By doing so, it was achieved the right spaces recovery shedding light on their main elements.","PeriodicalId":11829,"journal":{"name":"Espacio Tiempo y Forma. Despite having served painters, geometricians and architects of four continents as a source of instruction and visual repertoire during the Late Baroque, it still remains –save honorable exceptions– as a superficially read text. Our examination of its contents analyzes how the plates were grouped to fulfill the different functions which the treatise was meant to accomplish, i.e.: praising Jesuit architecture and the one designed by Pozzo himself; being effective as a workshop manual; and, then as now, drawing attention to its character as an object of bibliophilia.","PeriodicalId":11829,"journal":{"name":"Espacio Tiempo y Forma. Abstract With the spread of linear perspective, architecture became one of the main disciplines studied by Renaissance artists. The need to represent credible architecture forced painters to learn how to draw like architects, combining plans and elevations and applying the proportional and morphological rules handed down by Vitruvius. The treatises of perspective systematically welcomed instructions on the design of buildings, just as the architectural treatises dedicated space to perspective representation, considering it as a discipline corresponding to what Vitruvius called «scaenographia». To establish the close link between the perspective of painters and the Vitruvian scenography was mainly Daniele Barbaro who composed his famous treatise on perspective as a deepening of the theme that had so busy him in his equally famous commentary on Vitruvius.","PeriodicalId":11829,"journal":{"name":"Espacio Tiempo y Forma. Abstract The Book of Vows of the City Hall of Toledo is considered one of the most important codex kept in the Archive of the city. The studies regarding its content have been already analyzed for decades, but its artistic contribution has been neglected. The illuminated pages, beautifully framed, have fascinated all those who have approached the Toledo manuscript. Our main objective has been to analyze from the aesthetic, stylistic and iconographic point of view the set of illuminated repertoires. This article will stablish new relations with other codices that we have considered contemporary, according to the date of renewal of the book: the year 1594.
