In Ayurveda there is detail explanation about Dantadhavana methods, procedure, action of drugs, benefits etc. due to civilization Ayurveda twigs and tooth powders got replaced by contemporary plastic made toothbrushes and chemical based toothpastes. Toothbrushes are made of plastic; hence it is an alarming sign for soil and air pollution. Contemporary science recommends usage of chemical-based toothpaste with added sweet flavouring agents. Action of toothpaste maybe bactericidal but data from W.H.O over Oro-dental disorders per year gives an idea that action of bactericidal is not up to mark. In Ayurveda rasa Siddhant-katu (pungent taste), tikta (bitter taste), Kashaya (astringent taste) is given much importance for Dantadhavana due to antibacterial, antiseptic action. Current world is shifting towards ayurvedic principles of daily regimens to maintain and promote the health. This paper will discuss over problems due to usage of contemporary toothbrushes and chemical based paste and ayurvedic view of Dantadhavana and solution by Ayurveda to come over the Oro-dental problems.","PeriodicalId":118022,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biological & Scientific Opinion","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132442129","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Reports show that the dependency of an average man on preserved and packed food is expected to show an increase of 8% in just the span of 5 years i.e. 2015-2020, this is directly proportional to the increase in number of various disorders like Kushtha (skin ailments), Raktachapa (Blood pressure variations). The long term usage of food preservatives and additives can be considered as Gara Visha, the type of poison which impacts the body of an individual on long term usage. This usage of viruddha (preservatives and additives) leads to formation of Gara Visha in the body of an individual.","PeriodicalId":118022,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biological & Scientific Opinion","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124751085","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Old people usually have inadequate reformative capabilities and are therefore more susceptible to diseases, injuries and illness than the younger ones. In developed countries however, most people in their early 70s are still healthy and are able to take care of themselves. But after 75, they become progressively fragile, along with serious mental and physical debilitation. But in developing countries, this age is quite less as compared to the developed countries. These changes can lead to a reduced quality of life. But there are some measures, which when adapted, can slow the ageing process. In other words follow up of certain regimes; lifestyle, diet etc., can help a person to get older in a healthier way. In Unani classical literature, some measures are mentioned, by which these changes can be delayed and a healthier lifestyle can be maintained even at the old age. These measures are more about the prevention of disease and maintenance of health rather than the cure such as taking healthy diet suitable for old age people and performing suitable exercises etc. Old age and the disease which are common in old age and the preventive measures for delay of deterioration of health in old age are some of the factors that are being discussed in this paper.","PeriodicalId":118022,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biological & Scientific Opinion","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132561927","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The terms peenasa and apeenasa can be used based on the stages and the types of paranasal sinusitis. Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of nasya karma (nasal instillation therapy) and vyoshadi vati in patients of apeenasa having nasasrava (nasal discharge), shirogurutwa (heaviness of head) and kshavatu (sneezing) of patients suffering from apeenasa. Design: This was a randomized controlled study with thirty patients divided into three groups, 10 in each. In Group A, Nasya karma was given once a day for 7 days, in Group B, Vyoshadi vati was given twice a day for 7 days and in Group C, Nasya karma and Vyoshadi vati was given in combination for 7 days. Results: Statistically significant results were seen in reduction of nasasrava, shirogurutwa and kshavatu of patients suffering from apeenasa with p<0.001. Conclusions: Group C (Nasya karma with vyoshadi vati) showed statistically significant results compared to Group A (nasya karma) and Group C (Vyoshadi vati) in reduction of nasasrava, shirogurutwa and kshavatu of patients suffering from apeenasa.","PeriodicalId":118022,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biological & Scientific Opinion","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128127715","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
