Therefore, the attitudes of parents and teachers may significantly alter how inclusive education is seen. Aim: To explore the attitudes of school teachers and parents towards the integration of children with special needs into regular schools. Study design: This study used a descriptive research approach. Setting: The study was conducted in three government schools in October city. Sample: A multistage stratified sampling technique was used in recruiting teachers and parents. The study sample consisted of 238 parents and 248 teachers. Tools: A structured interview questionnaire, a teacher attitude toward inclusion scale, and a parent attitude toward inclusion scale were the three instruments used to gather the data.. Results revealed that 50.8% and 51.5% of parents and instructors, respectively, had positive attitudes about integrating special needs students into the general class. The lack of medical care and the lack of trained instructors are the two main issues preventing the inclusion of kids with special needs in conventional classrooms. Conclusion: Slightly more than half of parents have a positive attitude towards integrating students with special needs into the regular classroom. Additionally, more than half of teachers have a positive attitude. Recommendations: The administration of schools should involve parents in the education of their children and offer sensitization seminars, meetings, and workshops as part of their ongoing professional development.","PeriodicalId":117851,"journal":{"name":"Egyptian Journal of Nursing and Health Sciences","volume":"62 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139298648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For most nurses, breaking bad news is a handicap caused by inadequate training. When delivering bad news, the six-step SPIKE procedure is frequently employed. Aim of the study: The study's objective was to evaluate how the \"SPIKE\" protocol affected critical care nurses' attitudes, practices, and feelings for breaking bad news. Materials and Method: Research Design: For this study, a quasi-experimental research design was adopted. Setting: This study was conducted at the 16-bed general adult intensive care unit (ICU) of Al-Rahmaneah Central Hospital, which is divided between Hall A and Hall B. Sample: A convenience sample of 50 nurses was recruited for the current study. Instruments: two tools were used in the current study to collect data. Tool one was a questionnaire, which consisted of three parts. Part I: focused on the socio-demographics and characteristics of critical care nurses. Part II: It was composed of 12 statements to assess the feelings of nurses toward breaking bad news. Part III: It was composed of 17 statements to assess nurses , attitudes. Tool II: was composed of the SPIKE' protocol checklist. Method: Nurses interviewed individually to fulfill parts I and II, and the researcher recorded their responses using tool I. Nurses was observed, while they were breaking bad news the researcher recorded their practices by using the SPIKE protocol checklist (tool II). An educational program was conducted to teach nurses how to break bad news through three educational methods. Nurses were re-interviewed individually to fulfill tool I and observed to reassess their practices during breaking bad news by using tool II. Conclusion: the current study concluded that the hypothesis of nurses who were subjected to the \"SPIKE'' protocol had positive feelings, attitudes, and practices for breaking bad news was accepted .","PeriodicalId":117851,"journal":{"name":"Egyptian Journal of Nursing and Health Sciences","volume":"78 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139296052","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therapeutic regimen adherence in HSCT patients may be compromised by the complexity of their condition and could influence these patients’ clinical outcomes, furthermore, non-adherence rises the risk of mounting serious health outcomes like graft-versus-host disease, infection which all lead to readmissions. Aim of the study: The aim of this study is to identify the relationship between adherence to therapeutic regimen and clinical outcomes among patients post hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Design and Setting: The study design was descriptive correlational research design. The study was carried out in the outpatient clinic of the Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit, Al-Moassat University Hospital, Alexandria, Egypt. Subjects: It was comprised of 80 post HSCT patients. Tools: three tools were used for data collection; Tool I: Socio-demographic and clinical data of Post-HSCT patients, structured interview questionnaire, Tool II: Post hematopoietic stem cell transplantation patients’ adherence questionnaire. Tool III: Clinical outcomes assessment sheet. Results: three-fifths of the studied patients (60%) had moderate level of adherence, more than two-thirds of them (70%) had poor clinical outcomes, and there was a statistically significant correlation between patient’s level of adherence and their clinical outcomes (p= 0.004 ) . Conclusion: the highest percent of the studied patients were highly adhered to follow up visits and prescribed medication regimen, while they were poorly adhered to recommended diet, infection prevention precautions, and social activity precautions. Most of the studied patients had poor outcomes. Design: Explanatory randomized control study design was utilized to accomplish the study purpose. Research hypotheses: H1: Study group who received the intradialytic leg exercise will have a significant higher mean functional score that includes (physical, psychological and social functioning) than the control group who received the routine hospital treatment only. Sample: A sample of 114 adult male and female patients ( 57 patients in each group (study or control group) who met the inclusion criteria was involved in the analysis. Results: there was a statistical significant difference between both study and control groups after applying intradialytic leg exercises in relation to basic physical and social role functions after 3 and 6 weeks consequently. Moreover, there was a statistical significant difference between both study and control groups after applying intradialytic leg exercises in relation to intermediate physical and psychological functions and social activities after 6 weeks; But there was no statistical significant difference regarding social interaction.
