OBS is switching technique for the next generation optical networks. However, there are certain issues such as burst aggregation, scheduling, contention resolution and QoS that needs to be addressed in OBS. In this paper, we summarize the results of current research trends on optical burst switching networks. We present the classification of different scheduling algorithms and contention resolution techniques.","PeriodicalId":117199,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123685499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The transition states due to crowbar activation during transient faults are investigated to exploit the maximum power during the fault and post-fault period. It has been identified that operating slip, severity of fault and crowbar resistance have a direct impact on the power capability of a DFIG, and crowbar resistance can be chosen to optimize the power capability. It has been further shown that an extended crowbar period can deliver enhanced inertial response following the transient fault. The converter protection and drive train dynamics have also been analyzed while choosing the optimum crowbar resistance and delivering enhanced inertial support for an extended crowbar period.","PeriodicalId":117199,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127025727","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The classical approaches of reducing energy dissipation in conventional CMOS circuits include reducing the supply voltages, node capacitances, and switching frequencies. Energy-recovery circuitry, on the other hand, is a new promising approach to the design of VLSI circuits with very low energy dissipation. The supply voltage in adiabatic circuits in addition to providing the power to the circuit behaves as the clock of the circuit and for this reason is called power clock. One of the main concerns in the adiabatic logic circuits is the power clock generation. The design of a power clock generator is a challenging problem in this field. This paper discusses the design and simulation results of a VCO based power-clock supply generation for quasi-adiabatic circuits. The analysis is carried out in cadence design environment using 180nm technology using cell based design approach.","PeriodicalId":117199,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126943065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper after a brief review of this configuration, different options of the multi-cell operation of this converter for high power wind generation applications are discussed. The effect of multi-cell operation on the harmonics on the input dc current and output line currents are addressed. It is found that both the 2nd harmonic in the input dc current and all triplen harmonics in the output line currents are eliminated when three identical single-phase converters in Delta connection are used. PSIM simulation results are included for the purpose of validation.","PeriodicalId":117199,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128166588","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A remote user authentication scheme is a two-party protocol whereby an authentication server confirms the identity of a remote individual logging on to the server over an untrusted, unsecured network. The password based authentication schemes are commonly used for authenticating remote users. Many passwords based schemes both with and without smart card have been proposed; each scheme has its merits and demerits. However, the scheme proposed by Jena is vulnerable to the masquerade attack. In this paper, we shall discuss the masquerade attack on their scheme. Furthermore, we shall present an enhanced scheme for preventing the above attack.","PeriodicalId":117199,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"57 2-3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131653603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Unified Modeling Language (UML) consists of diagrams to capture the static and dynamic behaviour of a system. Generating test scenarios using UML activity diagrams produces all possible scenarios which is impossible to test exhaustively. Test scenario selection involves selecting an effective subset of scenarios for testing. This paper presents a new metric based on common subscenario between scenarios, their lengths, and weights based on the position of the common subscenario in the scenario. The aim of this strategy is to select scenarios that are least similar and at the same time provide high coverage. The method is compared with results of random selection to study effectiveness of our technique.","PeriodicalId":117199,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115673199","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
