This paper focuses on a research carried out to design and implement an Intelligent Automatic Switching Device for machinery in the event of power fluctuations. In the case of short term power dips or cuts the device reactivates the machinery automatically. The paper highlights the three main advantages of this automation, namely, minimizing waste generation, increasing productive time and minimizing defects. The concept developed through the research was applied to automate Weaving looms. The paper also looks at how this concept can be applied to suit any industry.","PeriodicalId":117199,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131127007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A maximum power tracker is used for extracting the maximum power from the generator. To be effective with cellular converter architecture, however, a scheme must be able to accommodate a varying number of cells and maintain operation under any climate conditions. Three types of PWM pulses (synchronized pulses, independent pulses, and interleaved pulses), applied to switches, to extract maximum power from PV generator are employed. Quantitative performance comparisons are being presented among synchronized pulses, independent pulses, and interleaved pulses of the converter cells. Simulation is done in MATLAB simulink environment.","PeriodicalId":117199,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133209698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To avoid this, the detection of unwanted electromagnetic radiations is required in industry where electromagnetic interference and compatibility (EMI/EMC) problems are quite an important issue. For EMI measurement, it is required to place a sensor to receive the radiation from the equipment. In this paper, a dielectric loaded T-shaped ultra wideband monopole antenna is designed and used as sensors for measuring electromagnetic interference. The performance of a sensor depends on its antenna factor, which is the ratio of the incident electric field on the antenna surface to the received voltage at the load end. Here the antenna factor of the same antenna is presented for the desired and cross polarization of the incident field. The results for antenna factor show an ultra wide bandwidth with the cross polarization isolation better than 86 dB / m for the T-monopole / DRA as EMI sensor. The simulated return loss characteristics show well agreement with the measured data of a prototype antenna.","PeriodicalId":117199,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129045615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
