It explores the relationship between the diversity-in-board index measured by (board nationality, women representation, and board education level) and investment efficiency at different stages in the firm life cycle as measured by free cash flow. The analysis encompasses 332 non-financial firms listed in the Dow Jones MENA Index from 2010 to 2021, yielding 285, 795, 2241, 513, 150 firm-year observations in the introduction, growth, mature, shake-out, and decline stages, respectively. Data was gathered from the S&P Capital IQ database and analysed using STATA software, employing panel data techniques. The findings reveal the diversity-in-board index exhibits varying effects, being insignificant during the introduction stage, positive during growth and decline stages, and negative during mature and shake-out stages on investment efficiency in the companies within the MENA region. These results endorse firm life cycle theory, emphasizing the dynamic role of diversity-in-board in investment efficiency. This research offers valuable insights for economists and policymakers, advancing our comprehension of how board attributes (board nationality, women representation, and board education level) impact a firm's investment efficiency in a dynamic context.","PeriodicalId":117010,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Academic Research in Economics and Management Sciences","volume":"47 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139338368","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bank liquidity creation incorporates all on-and/or off-balance sheet financial activities to foster long-term investments that contributes to growth. This study focused on measuring technical efficiency of bank liquidity creation for Malaysian commercial banks based on the on-balance sheet financial activities. Liquidity creation was measured using the ‘catnonfat’ approach introduced by Berger and Bouwm ann (2009). In the ‘catnonfat’ approach, all on-balance sheet items of each bank evaluated in this study were classified as: liquid, semi-liquid and illiquid to obtain the total liquidity creation for the respective year. The sample data in this study covered 22 commercial banks in the Malaysian banking sector from 2011 to 2018. The banks in this study were split into: large, medium and small sizes. It was observed that large banks were the greatest contributors to liquidity creation in the economy. They were followed by medium-sized banks which comprised many banks and the lowest contributors to liquidity creation were small-sized banks. Bank technical efficiency measurement was performed by employing non-parametric Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) in relation to the size of the banks. DEA is the common approach for efficiency evaluation in the banking sector as the method is able to accommodate a multiple inputs and outputs. Therefore, the efficiency of decision-making unit (DM)U can be measured and the levels of efficiency of different DMUs can be compared. It is observed that medium sized banks were the most efficient in creating liquidity throughout the period. Small banks averagely less efficient than large and medium banks in creating liquidity. Since this study only measured liquidity creation from the on-balance sheet financial activities, further research is suggested to employ another approach that inclusive of the off-balance sheet to examine the overall","PeriodicalId":117010,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Academic Research in Economics and Management Sciences","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139338425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objective: The central aim of this study is to dissect the perceived relationship between leadership styles exhibited by school managers and the levels of work engagement experienced by teachers in private schools situated in Ramallah, Palestine. Method : Employing a quantitative approach encompassing a descriptive, cross-sectional design, this study explicitly targets teachers within Ramallah private schools. A convenience sampling technique was employed to select the study's participants, comprising 383 teachers working across private schools. Data collection involved the utilization of the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale and the Multifactorial Leadership Questionnaire 5X short form. Results : The findings of this investigation highlight distinct trends. According to the perceptions of the teachers, the transformational leadership style (Mean ± Standard Deviation: 2.34 ± 0.946) and the transactional leadership style (Mean ± Standard Deviation: 2.03 ± 0.686) garnered the highest mean scores. In contrast, the laissez-faire leadership style (Mean ± Standard Deviation: 1.4 ± 0.991) received the lowest mean score. Concerning work engagement levels, the dedication aspect scored the highest mean (Mean ± SD: 4.80 ± 1.380), while vigor registered a slightly lower mean (Mean ± SD: 4.02 ± 1.424). Furthermore, substantial positive correlations were observed between the transformational and transactional leadership styles and the work engagement levels of the teachers (r = 0.591, r = 0.517, P = 0.000), respectively. However, while a negative correlation existed between the laissez-faire leadership style and work engagement levels of teachers (r = -0.023), this relationship did not reach statistical significance (p","PeriodicalId":117010,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Academic Research in Economics and Management Sciences","volume":"320 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139338423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, homestay operators are facing challenges due to a decline in repeat visitors. The purpose of this study is to examine the direct and indirect relationship between image, perceived value, safety, safety satisfaction, and tourist loyalty in the Malaysian homestay tourism industry. The research model incorporates three independent variables: image, perceived value, and satisfaction as a mediator, with loyalty as the dependent variable. Primary data was collected through a survey questionnaire, and 239 sets of clean data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The convergent validity of the measurement model was evaluated for construct reliability and validity, followed by the assessment of discriminant validity using cross-loading and HTMT ratios. The study findings indicate that image does not directly influence loyalty but instead has a positive and significant impact on loyalty through satisfaction as a mediator. Perceived value, on the other hand, directly influences loyalty but does not significantly influence loyalty when satisfaction acts as a mediator. These results suggest that homestay operators should prioritize enhancing their image and delivering high-quality services at reasonable prices to increase satisfaction and foster loyalty. This study offers valuable insights for homestay operators and policymakers in the tourism industry, emphasizing the importance of understanding customer needs and preferences to create a memorable experience.","PeriodicalId":117010,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Academic Research in Economics and Management Sciences","volume":"132 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122542196","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
