The Modified Rodrigues Parameter (MRP) is used along with its associated shadow set as the kinematic variables since it forms a nonsingular set for all possible rotations. The parameter uncertainty caused by the unknown inertia matrix is handled by combining the semitensor product and adaptive control method. Then the synergetic optimal controller (SOC) is designed. This adaptive optimal attitude control algorithm can eliminate inertia parameters' uncertainty and reject disturbance with zero steady-state error and they have optimality property with respect to a meaningful cost functional. Simulation results are employed to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":116715,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122418388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At first, a local enhancement method is proposed for FV and FDT images to enhance the vein vessel and finger dorsal texture line which can be called foreground lines (FLs). Then a novel cross section binary coding (CSBC) containing sixteen pattern-is presented to find the foreground positions and quantify their cross-section profiles. CSBC utilizes the characteristic that for each point, the result of comparing four surrounding points with it reflects its location in the cross-section profile. Finally, a weighted fusion strategy is put forward. In order to enhance the accuracy of the PTP synchronization, we first provide an approach to remove the drift factor of frequency of crystal oscillators on the master and slave clocks without any additional message exchanges added to the conventional PTP protocol. Then, we show an approach to reduce the asymmetric delays caused by the imbalanced hardware processing latencies between downlink and uplink paths. The simulation results show that the first and second approaches can improve the synchronization accuracy about 30% and 50%, respectively, as compared with the conventional PTP protocol. In addition, the PTP message exchanges are aggregated to reduce transmission overheads for the fast communication systems.","PeriodicalId":116715,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133619270","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using integral images, the total pixel value for any rectangular region in the source image can be calculated at high speeds. However, a large word length is required. In this study, we propose a word length reduction method for the integral image, which is based on the qualities of the integer addition operations. Using overlapping rectangular regions, we are able to reduce the word length and accurately calculate the total pixel values of the rectangular regions. This method can greatly reduce the word length when seeking the total pixel values of a large number of rectangular regions within the image.","PeriodicalId":116715,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133374261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, periodical flow fluctuation occurs when the rollers leave the tube because the tube restoring force disrupts the flow speed. A scheme of active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) is first presented to control the vertical motion and pitching angle of the tracked vehicle. The inner parameters uncertainty and the external disturbances are estimated as the total disturbances by using extended state observer (ESO) and are then real-time compensated by the control law. Tracked vehicle suspension system under random road excitation is simulated by MATLAB. By connecting a sufficiently large number of used batteries in series, the combined output voltage becomes operable, allowing for further drainage of the residual energy from these batteries. In this study, the discharge behaviors of primary alkaline batteries were characterized. The experimental results showed that batteries connected in series discharged non-uniformly. A \"weakest-link\" phenomenon was observed in that one battery discharged faster than others until it rendered the entire battery bank inoperable. This unconventional voltage supply required additional circuitries for regulation and/or protection to handle the relatively wide range of output voltage. Nevertheless, the concept of draining the residual energy by stacking up multiple used batteries is feasible. The method prolongs the service life of primary batteries and should lead to applications that benefit economy as well as environment. The potential extensions to this method are also discussed.","PeriodicalId":116715,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115065965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the networks' openness, the ad-hoc formation and the cross-domain character of future automation systems, design-time and runtime are blurring. Existing methods are limited to one type of resource and are highly specialized to one certain application. Solution-patterns are needed, which allow transferring the needed flexibilities easily to new applications. The contribution of this work is an application-independent approach for dynamic management of IT-resources in CPS, which forms an SOA-based, easy adaptable solution-pattern. Therefore, a resource-based view on CPS, based on the resource-stack model from cloud computing, is introduced as a layer of abstraction. A resource-manager decides which resource to scale and how. The concept is evaluated by an application example from the field of process engineering. Finally, a qualitative evaluation of the described method is performed.","PeriodicalId":116715,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115707147","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reported work investigates the open circuit fault tolerant performance of a Double Stator Permanent Magnet Generator (DSPMG) in tidal power generation systems. The conceptual advantages of this machine are used to show the possibility of uninterruptible operation under converter open phase fault. Concerning this technology, the total torque of the generator results from the superposition of the two stator torques, inner and outer stator. However, undesirable torque and speed oscillations occur if one stator has defect. To deal with this issue, the main idea of the proposed method is to compensate the faulty stator oscillating torque by using the healthy stator controller to produce the appropriate compensating torque. The proposed approach allows minimizing torque ripple through use of a simple high pass filter. Simulation results are given and demonstrate that the proposed method allows a reliable operation of the studied system under converter open phase fault.","PeriodicalId":116715,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114658584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
