The aim of the proposed control technique is to achieve grid-tie current injection, low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) current, unity power factor, while balancing DC-link voltage for all qZS-CHB inverter modules. Based on the similarity of topology to the DBRC converter, the new converter is expected to inherit most advantages from the DBRC converter - such as soft-switching, high power density and simple control. Besides, the proposed converter has a simpler structure with lower cost and the high circulation energy in output bridge is eliminated. The operating principles and waveforms in discontinuous-current mode (DCM) are presented in detail. It can be shown that all switches can be turned off softly at zero current. Steady-state analysis of the converter in DCM is performed using differential equation (DE) approach. A direct current (DC) network controller was designed to distribute DC energy through the system and provide power to a data center load in future buildings. The controller makes control actions based on sensor network data. An energy measuring accuracy of 98.2% was achieved. A wireless sensor network consisting of a host node and two client nodes was implemented with 6LoWPAN. A DC network controller that provides continuous power to a data center load was implemented with an automated control method. A graphical user interface interfaced with the controller displays power consumption at different nodes in the system, stores the readings in a database and plots power usages periodically. An automated control algorithm with various control actions was developed on the control unit for the user to operate the data center. Such a system is not only limited to data centers, but can also be used in monitoring/control for future buildings. Unlike conventional six step PWM technique, a quasi square wave current is obtained by selecting the voltage vectors from the pre defined switching table, which results in faster torque response compared to the conventional scheme. A back emf versus position look up table is used to avoid the low frequency oscillations as a result of which, a better torque response is obtained while the amplitude of stator flux linkage is deliberately kept constant by ignoring the flux control in constant torque region. The conventional DTC fails to concentrate on the torque ripple problem due to the variation in switching frequency. By adjusting the duty ratio of the active vector selected from the switching table, the torque ripple can be reduced and it causes significant change in the torque response without deteriorating the overall performance of the system. Such system can improve the diagnosis accuracy and avoid unnecessary invasive biopsy through reducing the false positive cases. With such aim, we focused on complementing the ultrasound images with the biomechanics property of breast tumor so that the fused information can achieve this objective. In this paper, we utilize robot-automated inspection platform to acquire and characterize the mechanics data during palpating the breast tumor phantom. Subsequently a support vector regression model was constructed for describing tumor morphological mechanics model. To achieve motion planning of the Delta robot under a proposed vision servo system, forward and backward kinematics of the Delta robot is derived at first. Then, the vision servo program is developed in C++ to perform the image processing and the image recognition. For the image processing procedures, Canny and Sobel edge detection methods are studied. Based on the experimental results, Canny edge detection is better than the Sobel method in this case. This paper proposes to couple neighboring LVFs for reducing such problems. Based on this concept, two or more LVFs can be interconnected. It is proposed in this paper that a distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM) can be installed at the coupling point of the LVFs to provide voltage controllability. While two capacitors are connected in series to obtain the second non-zero voltage level (2E). In this paper and in order to generate the first non-zero voltage level (E); parallel-connection of the two capacitors is proposed which in turn forces the capacitors voltages to be equal, as a result the parallel-connection supports employing a single voltage sensor per the proposed module instead of using two voltage sensors which reduces the hardware and software complexity of the control system. A new switched capacitor submodule (SCSM) is proposed to enable this feature. A detailed illustration of the operational concept of the proposed architecture is presented in this work. Its main purpose is to stabilize the indoor temperature and humidity, appropriately treat the outside air supplement in order to maintain positive indoor pressure, and supply the required additional exhaust to ensure the balance of air in the factory. Recycled heated air is one of the necessary processes for RCU. To enhance the energy efficiency of HVAC systems in high-tech factories, this paper proposes a methodology for RCU energy management by using variable recycled air controls. The proposed method utilizes the heat produced by the manufacturing processes and the high quality of recycled air to replace or reduce the output of the reheating devices. A variable frequency control also shall determine the required recycled air, the circulating air flow, heater output, and cooling water control valve output according to the system operation. A practical high-tech semiconductor plant is selected for field testing in order to demonstrate the performance of proposed method.
