This drives usually controlled using hysteresis current regulators, which produce audible noise and torque ripple. The method of model predictive control with reduced integration step size was introduced in order to implement precise torque stabilization using pulse width modulation. Active thermal control was developed as well to increase the continuous output power of the drive. The developed control strategy was simulated and shows accurate torque regulation even when only few integration steps inside single PWM cycle are used for duty cycle evaluation. Active thermal control reduced the temperature of the hottest power module by 7.4%, which allows to increase the continuous output power of the drive.","PeriodicalId":115427,"journal":{"name":"2020 XI International Conference on Electrical Power Drive Systems (ICEPDS)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121595500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of multi-pulse rectification circuits as part of a frequency converter reduces the voltage waveform distortion at the semiconductor frequency converter grid-connection point. However, this solution has not completely fixed the grid voltage waveform distortion issue. The main way to improve the power quality in supply systems containing drives with semiconductor converters is the use of harmonic filters. A harmonic filter reduces the total factor of harmonic components and the voltage deviation at the drilling rig input. Reducing the voltage deviation improves the motor current and torque waveforms. A promising way to improve the power quality is the use of an active voltage rectifier as part of a frequency converter. An active voltage rectifier significantly reduces the higher voltage harmonic component at the drilling rig input. Changing the active voltage rectifier's reactive current signal leads to a change in reactive power. As a result, the voltage deviation at the rig input reduces.","PeriodicalId":115427,"journal":{"name":"2020 XI International Conference on Electrical Power Drive Systems (ICEPDS)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125293529","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, continuous control set MPC usually requires huge computation efforts or analytical solution of the non-linear equations of the motor, which is not always possible. This paper considers the option of precalculation of all control commands for each combination of the input variables. This approach is applicable for the drives with limited number of state variables, such as direct current motor or switched reluctance machine. An example of the control system of direct current motor with torque stabilization and minimization of the ohmic losses was implemented using simulation model. The 4-dimensional lookup table was used for armature current control and 2-dimensional lookup table was used for field winding control. The simulation results show rapid torque stabilization together with losses minimization.","PeriodicalId":115427,"journal":{"name":"2020 XI International Conference on Electrical Power Drive Systems (ICEPDS)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132331537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using the finite element simulation in Comsol Multiphysics environment a linear plant model in form of a three-mass elastically coupled system is derived. It is shown that trolley motion leads to change of model parameters, which significantly deteriorates the vibrations suppression quality in a closed-loop system. An approach using multiple state-feedback controllers and a Takagi-Sugeno-Kang fuzzy inference system is proposed, enabling soft switching between designed controllers as a function of trolley position.","PeriodicalId":115427,"journal":{"name":"2020 XI International Conference on Electrical Power Drive Systems (ICEPDS)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114771005","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the first stage of synthesis, a linearized model of the manipulation robot is formed and parameters are identified using the search method. At the second stage, the structure of the resulting model is transformed to increase controllability by correcting singular gramian numbers, which is physically implemented by introducing additional links to the object. At the third stage, a linear state controller is synthesized for corrected mechatronic object using the modal control method. The proposed approach allows us to develop a control system for a manipulating robot that meets the requirements of robustness when the object parameters vary within the specified limits.","PeriodicalId":115427,"journal":{"name":"2020 XI International Conference on Electrical Power Drive Systems (ICEPDS)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123791458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
