The results indicated that the twenty-four plants are more infected by M. modesta . The population density recorded that, the general weekly mean number of M. modesta was more abundant at Beheira Governorate than recoded at Giza Governorate throughout two successive seasons 2021 and 2022. The statistical analysis of the total mean number of M. modesta showed a significant difference at <0.0001 for two different locations. At Giza Governorate showed that the adults recorded its highest levels of infestation in the months (June, October, September, July, Augusta, May, April, November and March) However, the months of January, February and December, insect population was absent . In the field of medical treatment using maggot therapy, this species could help to heal incurable infections. The morphological identification of the adult wing and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) of the first instar larvae was carried out and confirmed by DNA identification of the 3 rd instar larvae of L. cuprina . The results showed a fraction of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase I (COI) spanning approximately 269 bp. The topology of the Neighbor-Joining (NJ), Maximum Likelihood (ML) tree indicated that L. cuprina species were assigned correctly to the subfamily Luciliinae, family Calliphoridae. The male reproductive system comprises two testes, a pair of vasa differentia and a pair of accessory glands, a vesicula seminalis, and an ejaculatory duct. This inquired species has the common conventional spermatozoal pattern of Calliphoridae, a single-layered acrosome at the apex, a consolidated nucleus, totally crystallized mitochondrial derivatives, and an axoneme with a 9+9+2 microtubular configuration. This investigation revealed for the first time detailed morphological and mitochondrial DNA identification, as well as the morphology of the male reproductive system and ultrastructure of spermatozoa in L. cuprina, collected from Sharkia Governorate, Egypt.","PeriodicalId":11424,"journal":{"name":"Egyptian Academic Journal of Biological Sciences. L. beckii population was significantly higher in navel orange orchards followed by mandarin and lemon orchards, respectively. On the contrary, the activities of studied natural enemies were mostly higher in significant values in lemon orchards followed by mandarin and navel orange orchards, respectively. So, it can be concluded that the relatively low population levels of L. beckii in lemon orchard may be attributed to the relatively high activities of the recorded natural enemies, and vice versa. The daily temperature degrees had mostly high significant positive effects on the activities of L. beckii and both A. lepidosaphes and C. bipustulatus ; while the daily means of relative humidity had mostly insignificant effects on them.","PeriodicalId":11424,"journal":{"name":"Egyptian Academic Journal of Biological Sciences.
