In this study, we use SEM to examine the model that includes dimensions and relevant variables. The dimensions of model include information quality, system quality, service quality, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude and behavioural intentions. The results indicate that there are no differences between perceived usefulness and information quality, system quality, and there is also no difference between perceived ease of use and behavioural intentions. In addition to above hypotheses the other are all supported among these hypotheses. We found the most indirect variable affect the behavioural intentions is system quality. This means that system quality is the most important factor to affect smartphone system. We also found that perceived ease of use is very important for smartphone users, and if the smartphone systems are not easy to use, they would not be accepted by people.","PeriodicalId":114223,"journal":{"name":"Int. Smart devices help humans by being context-sensitive, run errands or execute tasks and support their daily operations. This paper defines these context-sensitive smart devices (CSSD). We review the context and context sensitivity exhibited by mobile phones and smart devices. We further discuss the functionality of these smart devices and provide a functional taxonomy classification. This functional taxonomy could act as a framework in the design and development of CSSD. We illustrate the application of the functional taxonomy in different contexts, bringing out the characteristics, challenges and applications in each context.","PeriodicalId":114223,"journal":{"name":"Int. With the evolution of robotic equipment and sensors, the researchers are focusing on introducing smart farming. In this paper, we propose improved algorithms for infection detection in leaves and field classification targeting a heterogeneous robotic system. Image processing methods have been used on the leaves of the plants to calculate the infection percentage in crops and elementary machine learning algorithm k-means clustering for classifying the field. Classification of the agricultural field has been done for growing different types of crops in a mixed cropping technique which has an advantage over other farming procedures. Early detection of diseases can help in better preventive measures in the early stages. We have used 3,150 images of crop diseases for three different types of crops and by smartly incorporating some previously established techniques. The primary objective of this paper includes the qualitative analysis of infection detection algorithms and further elaboration for the possible application of the suggested work in smart farming.","PeriodicalId":114223,"journal":{"name":"Int. The efficient route from source to destination in the network is identified by determining the level of signal strength from intermediate hops. The link quality between the intermediate nodes is determined by calculating the signal strength level. The received signal strength is one method to estimate the medium characteristics and distance between the intermediate nodes which is one of the quality of service required by the network. The nodes with high signal strength and high bandwidth are identified as minimal delay nodes so as to determine the reliable path. The data is sent through minimal delay nodes in the shortest path from source to destination. The better link quality improves the performance metrics such as packet delivery ratio, throughput and simultaneously reduces the control message overheads, average and end-to-end delay compared to some of the existing routing protocols. The experimental study shows that the proposed routing protocol is 30% better in packet delivery ratio, throughput, reduced control message overheads, average and end-to-end delay than the existing stable and delay constrained routing protocol.","PeriodicalId":114223,"journal":{"name":"Int. After the removal of the bias, we find that per capita GDP and CO2 emissions are strongly interrelated. Moreover, we split our dataset into high-income, middle-upper-income and low-income countries, and the results indicate that the beneficial effect of per capita GDP on CO2 emissions in high-income panel countries is greater than that in middle-upper panel countries. However, quicker economic development induces higher pollution in low-income countries. On the other hand, the effect of CO2 emissions results in the improvement of per capita GDP for the low to middle-upper income panel but a decrease in the improvement of per capita GDP for the high-income countries.","PeriodicalId":114223,"journal":{"name":"Int. Saving lives from fireground is the primary task in firefighting, in which the speed of effective search largely relies on the sufficient and instant information. When insufficient information situation follows firefighter tightly, the firefighter's life can be jeopardised. Equipped firefighter with the advancing information technology, such as IR, laser range-finder, camera, augmented reality and an unmanned aerial vehicle for acquiring more fireground information may be useful for firefighting task. This study focuses on using Monte Carlo simulation model to quantify the feasible alternatives and finds out the significant effect by t-test. The result showed the time in search of victim is significantly reduced as using new way of firefighting. The contribution of this paper is to disclose the value of the proposed information-based technology in support of firefighting.","PeriodicalId":114223,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Soc. Humanist. The prevalence of these technologies for narrative use brings about the fusion of diverse schools of thought on motivation. One proven model is that of Maslow, whose theory of needs has an intuitive appeal in understanding bloggers' needs and motivations. This paper considers practical blogging experiences for palliative care users through the theoretical lens of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Palliative care patients, carers and clinicians were interviewed about their weblogs and data qualitatively analysed. The results indicate that the experience of maintaining a weblog is therapeutic for individuals and fulfils needs hierarchically from the lowest to the highest as outlined in Maslow's theory.","PeriodicalId":114223,"journal":{"name":"Int. According to the water use data of a city, the time series prediction method and the explanatory prediction method are used to forecast the water use in the short-term. In order to combine the advantages of the two forecasting methods, this paper proposes a combination forecasting method based on weight coefficient optimisation theory. Compared with the single prediction model, the combined forecasting model has higher accuracy and stability.","PeriodicalId":114223,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Soc. Humanist. One area that has started to receive attention in literature is mobile crowdsensing. Though promising, one specific aspect of mobile crowdsensing that has been mostly ignored in literature is human participation. In this paper, we take on this issue and present a novel probabilistic approach to predict whether we can expect a response from the crowd or not. The proposed candidate selection algorithm takes its inspiration from statistics and handles the typical uncertainties in human behavior. Validation of the proposed framework is done in two ways: 1) we implement a prototype and deploy it over an enterprise service bus; 2) we perform numerical testing on real datasets. With this experimental testbed, we show the efficacy of the framework in actual deployment scenarios.","PeriodicalId":114223,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Soc. Humanist. We compared two sets of texts consisting of ten texts of analytic philosophy and ten texts of continental philosophy by using the Burrows delta consensus tree, principal components analysis, as well as multidimensional scaling (MDS) and cluster analysis. We used a supplementary corpus of ten analytical texts pertaining to film studies. The analysis shows that analytic and continental texts are clearly distinct in stylistic terms though there are divisions within the continental corpus. The results lead to the conclusion that philosophical thought is dependent on language. The introduction of an analytic philosophy of film corpus shows that the focus on a certain topic fractures the linguistic coherence of analytic philosophy. Our focus on two major philosophical schools makes it possible to generalise findings to other philosophical schools.","PeriodicalId":114223,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Soc. Humanist.
