Educational videos are media that may be used by a variety of people, especially for children who are still learning their language. Particularly in the process of children's second language acquisition, educational video is a very effective tool for helping children learn new languages. This study employs a descriptive approach and qualitative methodology, in which the researcher performed an interview and presented it as a descriptive description. A 4 years old girl participated in this study as a respondent. This study emphasizes how English is learned as a second language which focuses on color nouns, animals, and basic numbers to describe. The findings of this study indicate that educational videos can have an impact on children's second language acquisition, but this media does not completely replace the human role in language acquisition or learning","PeriodicalId":113733,"journal":{"name":"Berumpun: International Journal of Social, Politics, and Humanities","volume":" 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141680982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study: 1) Complement and expand on the theoretical meaning of hedging strategy. 2) It can theoretically support Thailand in the face of strategic conflict between China and the United States. 3) Be aware of why Thailand implements a hedging strategy and know the specific performance of Thailand’s hedging strategy. 4) It will aid in the growth of Thailand's connections with the two big countries. 5) This article can provide certain reference for research related to Thailand’s diplomatic strategy. The method of this study adopts content documentary analysis, case analysis method, literature research and historical method. \u0000According to the findings of this study, Thailand has begun to tilt more toward requesting assistance from China in Prayuth goverment. Many researchers are concerned about Thailand's neutrality. However, Thailand has not yet vanished from the United States. Just a few steps removed from the Obama and Trump administrations. Thailand has begun to rebuild its old friendship with America as the Joe Biden era looms. But anyway Thailand cannot choose a side. Because Thailand is a reliable ally on both sides. This has caused the Prayut government to seek cooperation from other organizations and countries, including Japan, India, and ASEAN. Thailand has accelerated the development of economic links with Japan. Accelerate the political development of relations with India. and establishing ties with ASEAN and Southeastern countries in order to find a way for small countries to maintain their own interests as much as possible in the fight between the two superpowers. Although hedging techniques are currently the preferred option for smaller countries, the variables driving this strategy differ. In Thailand, the majority of the factors that influence hedging tactics originate within the country. But all bordering countries are influenced by foreign causes. As a result, Thailand has become another special case of hedging among ASEAN countries.","PeriodicalId":113733,"journal":{"name":"Berumpun: International Journal of Social, Politics, and Humanities","volume":"20 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141117687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The process is often characterized by politics of domination and influence by various actors on the policy scene. This study examines the power relations that shaped the design and implementation of a Community-Based Health Insurance programme in Nigeria. Health policy triangle developed by Walt and Gilson serves as the analytical tool. Using a qualitative method of data collection, this study sheds light on the recent trends in health policy transfer to Africa from the global North and reveals the underlying politics in the design and implementation of a CBHI programme in rural Kwara. Specifically, we highlight the process through which the policy was proposed and accepted. Also, our study shows the political underpinnings of the design and implementation of the policy. Finally, we argue for a need to repurpose the role of the state (i.e. government) towards achieving meaningful development and to gainfully improve social services provisioning, especially in the healthcare sector. Given the importance of healthcare to the well-being of the people, productivity and national development, this study contributes to understanding the issues ‘behind the scenes’ in relation to policy design and implementation.","PeriodicalId":113733,"journal":{"name":"Berumpun: International Journal of Social, Politics, and Humanities","volume":"112 46","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141124454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The potential beneficial effect has the potential to enhance the nation's foreign exchange reserves. Nevertheless, there are adverse consequences that manifest in the shape of diverse challenges, encompassing numerous instances of migrating laborers. The individuals in question have encountered instances of violence, as well as instances where their earnings were not remunerated, among other related matters. The aforementioned issues also manifest in the offspring they leave in their wake. The function of the mother is crucial for the development of children. Consequently, individuals would encounter a substantial detriment that would subsequently impact the trajectory of their attitudes and behaviors throughout their lifetimes. The objective of this study is to examine the role of family communication patterns in mitigating the grief stages experienced by children whose moms engage in migrant employment. The present study employs a qualitative research methodology, namely a case study approach. The focus of this study is on families residing in Cibedug Village, Rongga District, West Bandung Regency, who are responsible for rearing children while the mothers work as migrant workers. The findings of the study indicate that when democratic communication patterns are present within the family, children are able to navigate the stages of grief effectively. In contrast, families that employ authoritarian communication patterns pose challenges for children in effectively navigating the stages of grief, resulting in manifestations of irritability, introversion, mistrust, and limited ability to engage in social interactions with their peers.","PeriodicalId":113733,"journal":{"name":"Berumpun: International Journal of Social, Politics, and Humanities","volume":"93 20","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138600084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis reveals a both the promotion of Gender Equality and the presence of Gender Inequality. \"I AM KARTINI\" strongly advocates for Gender Equality, emphasizing the critical importance of granting women equal access to education. The book communicates the idea that numerous women recognize education's pivotal role in their lives and society as a whole, championing women's inherent right to the same opportunities enjoyed by men. However, the analysis also uncovers instances of Gender Inequality depicted in the book, connecting patriarchal culture within the Indonesian educational system. The book portrays stereotypes that restrict women to domestic roles, primarily centered on family and household responsibilities. This research highlights the critical importance of examining how gender is represented in children's literature. \"I AM KARTINI\" serves as a powerful instrument in this endeavor, advocating for gender equality while also highlighting the ongoing challenges related to gender bias and inequality within the Indonesian educational landscape. These findings emphasise the urgent need to recognize and address these issues to foster an inclusive educational environment where every individual has an equal opportunity to thrive.","PeriodicalId":113733,"journal":{"name":"Berumpun: International Journal of Social, Politics, and Humanities","volume":"42 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139251398","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research method used is text analysis with a qualitative approach. Data is collected with observation techniques, library studies, and document analysis. The analysis and interpretation of the research data were carried out and studied by following the six steps of the qualitative data analysis techniques adopted by Creswell (2009) through the comparison analysis between the original text in English and the translation in Indonesian, with a focus on the selection of appropriate matches to express the correspondence, language style, and meaning of the letters. The results of the study showed that the translators used seven translation techniques out of 18 developed by Molina and Albir (2002), namely using literal techniques at 35.3%, Transposition techniques at 17.7%, generalization, amplification, and adaptation techniques at 11.8%, and modulation and borrowing techniques at 5.8%. The analysis in this study observes the three female characters described in the book as representations of the meaning of women, described by Pramoedya Ananta Toer as struggle figures in initiating socio-political movements. The book, which describes the embryonic formation of the Indonesian nation during colonialism, has the style and analogy of an emancipatory struggle in a society that does not look at gender, as well as the absence of previous research that holistically discusses the four series of books in the context of women and the socio-political movement as a whole. This study uses a qualitative approach using a semiotic analysis model from Charles Sanders Peirce, which includes representation, object, and interpretant, which is then supported by compatible literature studies. Therefore, they must carefully select and employ effective techniques during their instructional sessions. Among these techniques, questioning stands out as a particularly influential method. This study focuses on exploring the utilization of questioning strategies by English teachers in the context of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) classroom interactions within Vocational High Schools. The research adopts a case study approach, centering around one EFL teacher as the participant. Data collection involved interviews and observations, while Miles and Huberman's qualitative data analysis framework was applied for data interpretation. The findings of this study indicate that, among the four question types outlined in Wangru's (2016), the teacher predominantly employs two strategies during classroom interactions: prompting and repeating. In contrast, probing and redirecting strategies are used less frequently. The questions posed by the teacher cover a range of topics, including material-related inquiries and those aimed at eliciting student responses. Consequently, students engage actively in the learning process, leading to skill enhancement. In conclusion, this research demonstrates that effective employment of questioning strategies contributes to an interactive learning environment.","PeriodicalId":113733,"journal":{"name":"Berumpun: International Journal of Social, Politics, and Humanities","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121242850","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
