CAN ENGLISH VOCABULARY ACQUISITION OF A YOUNG LEARNER BE CATALYZED BY EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS?

Abstract

This study tries to demonstrate the issue of learning a second language in a case study of a child who viewed educational videos. Educational videos are media that may be used by a variety of people, especially for children who are still learning their language. Particularly in the process of children's second language acquisition, educational video is a very effective tool for helping children learn new languages. This study employs a descriptive approach and qualitative methodology, in which the researcher performed an interview and presented it as a descriptive description. A 4 years old girl participated in this study as a respondent. This study emphasizes how English is learned as a second language which focuses on color nouns, animals, and basic numbers to describe. The findings of this study indicate that educational videos can have an impact on children's second language acquisition, but this media does not completely replace the human role in language acquisition or learning
