In this context, the terms efficient, economical, and productive are considered important instruments in the effectiveness of public institutions. One of the necessary elements in the effectiveness of public institutions is the presence of an effective system of internal audit. The effectiveness of internal auditing generally depends on the existence of elements such as independence and impartiality of internal audits. In this study, internal audit perceptions of public servants who have financial responsibility were measured. Furthermore, the impact levels of elements that are effective in internal auditing were analyzed using the “Structural Equation Model.” This model showed that the high level of perception of value added to internal auditing is the most important factor affecting effective internal audits.","PeriodicalId":113431,"journal":{"name":"Sosyoekonomi Journal","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128967734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problems in the housing markets started with monetary tightening. These developments revealed the importance of the relationship between monetary policy, housing markets, and the real sector. Besides, the role of housing prices in the monetary transmission mechanism has begun to examine. In this context, the paper aims to investigate the role of housing prices in the monetary transmission mechanism in the Turkish economy empirically. The analysis method of the study is Structural VAR. The analysis period is 2011:1-2019:4. According to the results of the analysis, monetary policy affects housing prices. However, housing prices have no impact on consumption and housing investment. When these two situations evaluated together, housing prices have no role in the monetary transmission mechanism. On the other hand, the analyses indicate that the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey closely followed the housing prices. In this framework, it reacts rapidly to the appropriate policy response.","PeriodicalId":113431,"journal":{"name":"Sosyoekonomi Journal","volume":"362 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114769622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Following the path of Bayoumi and Eichengreen (1993, 1997) and Blanchard and Quah (1989), the calculations show us that Greece has the largest supply shocks, while Turkey has the largest demand shocks. By looking at the impulse response functions associated with the SVARs, it is clear that Greece has the lowest adjustment speed to demand disturbances followed by the United Kingdom. Those countries which experienced debt crises in the EMU, seemed to have big supply and demand shocks and compared to other member countries the adjustment speed of their economies to these shocks are slower.","PeriodicalId":113431,"journal":{"name":"Sosyoekonomi Journal","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115257389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sample covers the period between 1970 and 2016. The econometric analysis is based on the Bayer-Hanck combined cointegration test to examine whether the cointegration exists or not between the variables. The results of the Bayer-Hanck combined cointegration test show that there is no cointegration between financial development and economic growth even in the control of other variables such as economic globalization and technological progress. The estimation results also reveal that the long-run linkage is not prevailing between the variables. In other words, it can be argued that financial development does not contribute to the economic growth process by way of higher levels of economic globalization and technological progress in the long-run.","PeriodicalId":113431,"journal":{"name":"Sosyoekonomi Journal","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116557214","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Women and men, who are satisfied with their workplace relations relative to those who are not, are more likely to report that they are satisfied or very satisfied with their life, job and income. Women’s job and income satisfaction and men’s all three means of happiness are more likely to be high for those who received a pay rise last year. The strongest correlation is observed between job and income satisfaction for both women and men, which is slightly stronger for women that challenges the arguments on women’s financial motivation to be not as strong as men at work. Findings support the spillover hypothesis: it is observed pairwise between all three components of happiness.","PeriodicalId":113431,"journal":{"name":"Sosyoekonomi Journal","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120959602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Political polarization is taken as the variable of interest, along with other control variables. Statistical analysis was carried out using the Ordinary Least Squares and Second Stage Least Squares methods. The scope of the paper includes 61 countries, and the time interval is between 1990 and 2015. The results of the regression analysis show that the share of public consumption spending in national income in countries where political polarization is high is declining. In addition, the increase in levels of ethnic fracturalization, democracy and government fractionalization has an increasing effect on the share of public consumption spending in national income. The study provides descriptive linkages among findings.","PeriodicalId":113431,"journal":{"name":"Sosyoekonomi Journal","volume":"132 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134184579","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
