In the proposed balance controller, a novel sliding surface is adopted as the input variable of fuzzy system to outstanding its merit of insensitivity to uncertainties. In the fuzzy membership function, the translation width is utilized to reduce the chattering phenomena. Moreover, consider the parametric variation, external disturbance and nonlinear friction for the practical wheeled robot motions, the transient and unmodelled uncertainty will be occurred. An adaptive tuner, which is derived in the sense of Lyapunov stability theorem, is added into the fuzzy controller to reduce the accumulated error and to ascend the stability. The hardware of whole control system includes a microcontroller, gyroscope, accelerometer, and two autonomous motors. The effectiveness is verified by simulated and experimental results, and the performance is compared with conventional PD control scheme for the same wheeled robot.","PeriodicalId":113116,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on System Science and Engineering (ICSSE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129224993","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The structure of the ICO was based on the multiple resource theory. And the Analytic Hierarchy Process was applied in the development of the ICO. 12 subjects participated in a series of experiments, and rated the ICO and the NASA Task Load Index (TLX) on the completion of each experiment. By analyzing the ICO scores and TLX scores statistically, the sensitivity, diagnostic ability, and validity of the ICO rating scale were evaluated. Results show that the ICO demonstrates satisfying sensitivity, diagnostic ability and validity, and can be applied in the design and optimization of the human-in-the-loop system.","PeriodicalId":113116,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on System Science and Engineering (ICSSE)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128501417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The nonlinear plant dynamic is described by a fuzzy model which contains local liner models. Based on this model, model predictive control algorithm that utilizes past data along with real-time measurements is devised. The proposed control scheme takes advantages of the iterative learning law and model predictive control, which consists of time direction information and an iterative learning term. This algorithm is developed to address the learning rate for a class of repetitive system with non-repetitive disturbances. The iterative learning control law is given. Simulation on a single-joint mechanical arm shows the effectiveness of the proposed NMPILC. It differs from the previous approach that simply use the norm of the projection of visual data on the invariant feature subspace to give the probability density inside the independent subspaces. By modelling the independent feature subspaces with Archimedean copula and utilizing the relationship between Archimedean copula and ℓ1-norm symmetric distribution, we make use of the corresponding radial distribution as the feature information to process feature extraction.","PeriodicalId":113116,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on System Science and Engineering (ICSSE)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114251734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
