In FGIDS, a detector can dynamically leave or join FGIDS anytime. A newly joined one is tested to obtain its key features' performance curves, which are used to balance detection workload among detectors. When a detector due to some reasons can not continue its detection leaving an unfinished task, FGIDS allocates another available one to take over. Therefore the drawbacks ordinary security systems have experienced can be then eliminated","PeriodicalId":112974,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology - (ICCGI'06)","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114661386","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The context, a depleting global address pool, and the target, global services, missed on one interesting opportunity for IPv6. Larger IP Service Provider and Enterprise networks are running out of IPv4 resources to manage their devices. Alleviating this problem with the help of IPv6 would be more valuable to them in the immediate future than providing user services. This paper reviews the current interest in leveraging IPv6 for management and it analyzes few possible protocol extensions that would enable its use in this role to a larger extent. While the paper discusses some of the challenges faced by these deployment proposals, it contends that this could be a reasonable and practical first step in the early adoption of IPv6 in large networks","PeriodicalId":112974,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology - (ICCGI'06)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127449955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When we consider the deployment of a new protocol, it is well understood that the existence of a free protocol implementation, which can be used as a reference implementation for both research and operation, plays important roles. SHISA is a free implementation of Mobile IPv6 and NEMO BS protocols built on top of BSD operating systems. The purpose of SHISA is to be a reference implementation of the mobility protocols and to accelerate the deployment. In this paper, we explain the background of the development, introduce the design and explain the implementation detail. SHISA consists of the modified kernel and the user space programs, which is a similar approach as the routing/forwarding mechanism implemented in many UNIX systems. We designed a new communication layer between kernel and a user space program and also between user space programs to exchange mobility related information. This design makes the implementation simple and extensible. SHISA also provides some advanced features such as multiple care-of address registration and IPv4 prefix support which will help the deployment in a real situation","PeriodicalId":112974,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology - (ICCGI'06)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128523019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Though not optimal, the solutions generated by our algorithm compare well with those generated by other algorithms in the public domain. The traditional middleware frameworks have become inadequate for next-generation service provisioning due to its poor scalability, customizability, manageability, and reliability. Challenges from existing and new types of applications, including support for multimedia, real-time requirements and mobility seems to indicate the need for defining a new architecture for open distributed systems. The new architecture should be designed from the beginning with flexibility and adaptability in mind. This can be achieved by defining an open engineering middleware platform that is run time configurable and allows inspection and adaptation of the underlying components. This paper will examine the middleware requirements for future distributed systems including grid, RFID, and wireless sensor systems and identifies key research areas. In each area, crucial middleware research issues to support future applications that will enable seamless service provisioning in heterogeneous, dynamically varying computing and communication environments are discussed.
