In many cases, the axial force primarily affects the strength of structures. On the other hand, the life of a structure can be affected depending on the type of load, for example, shear force or mixed loads. This study examined the Mode II state of the loading condition under fatigues and fractures. Mode I fatigues and fractures have been extensively studied in evaluating the stress intensity factor (SIF), but Mode II failure has seldom been studied. In addition, many types of specimens have been used because a standardized specimen or experimental procedure has not yet been established for Mode II conditions. Therefore, the behavior of the SIF of the Mode II condition was examined using the finite element method (FEM) and J integral with an in-house FEM program. The evaluation used 3905 nodes and 7596 elements of a full model specimen with a crack length of 0.04 m. The results were compared with other results, and an accuracy of more than 97.4 % was achieved with the proposed calculation.","PeriodicalId":112431,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society","volume":"427 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140472942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to develop a collision prevention system for autonomous tractors capable of real-time obstacle recognition and responsive collision avoidance using video sensor fusion technology. Emphasizing human safety as the top priority, the system targeted obstacle recognition specifically for humans and operated within designed risk and warning zone ranges aligned with the tractor's direction. The developed sensor fusion system integrated the robust object classification capabilities of an RGB camera with a lidar sensor for precise distance measurement, achieving synchronization through camera-lidar calibration. The recognition algorithm, based on the YOLO model applied to RGB images, identified humans, while the lidar data projected onto the image measured the relative distance from the tractor. The collision prevention system, relying on the relative distance of recognized obstacles, halted the tractor in hazardous areas, resuming operation once the obstacle cleared. Validation in static and dynamic situations on flat farmland demonstrated a recognition rate exceeding 99% in collision risk zones, a 24 cm RMSE for distance measurement, and a success rate of over 98% in collision prevention and response.","PeriodicalId":112431,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society","volume":"494 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140472492","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, it is essential to set a direction for improvement. A prediction study was carried out for the vibration characteristics that may occur in electric multiple unit (EMU) high-speed trains at running speeds exceeding 350 km/h. To this end, EMU high-speed trains consisting of two coaches and six locomotives were modeled using SIMPACK software. Measured data during a test run were used to verify this model. Using the verified analysis model, vibration characteristics were predicted and analyzed for each speed from 200 km/h to 400 km/h. Vibration increased linearly with speed, but even at a speed of 400 km/h, the vibration characteristics were much lower than the limit values specified in the EN 14363 standard. In addition, it was confirmed that riding comfort could be achieved using the mean comfort method of EN 12299.","PeriodicalId":112431,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society","volume":"10 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140474857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the paper, the trajectory of a low-altitude glide maneuver type ballistic missile was simulated by adjusting the flight path angle using the pitch turn rate for each flight stage and entering the desired glide altitude during fall. As a result of the analysis, the flight time was longer as the peak altitude was lower and shorter as the peak altitude was higher, which was judged to be because the higher the altitude, the higher the average speed. In addition, the root mean squre error for the impact point of the simulated trajectory and the prediction result of the impact point was obtained. As a result of the prediction, the rmse is more than tens of km, and it was found that it is difficult to predict the point of impact when the missile is in the glide section. The results of this study are expected to be used for threat assessment of ballistic missiles of various trajectories, and for judging and selecting the possibility of engagement of response systems in the future.","PeriodicalId":112431,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society","volume":"61 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140476594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
