The main interest was to study the dynamic behavior of power system in view of major incidents and vital scenarios such as transient stability and frequency stability. In addition, the design of a robust control strategies like the Automatic Generation Control (AGC) and the Under Frequency Load Shedding (UFLS) was envisaged. An application on the IEEE 10 bus test system and on the islanded 57 bus Algerian grid called Pole InSalah-Adrar-Timimoun (PIAT) was performed. The dynamic modeling was carried out using the EUROSTAG Macro-Block tool. A series of events such as three-phase short circuit and load variation were presented during the simulation. In order to achieve an acceptable attenuation of current harmonics in grid tied inverters and meet grid interconnection recommendations, an inductor-capacitor-inductor (LCL) type filter is commonly used as an interface between the inverter and the grid. However, this filter exhibits a resonant peak that should be properly damped to ensure system stability. Moreover, grid impedance variations, mainly under weak grid conditions, may shift the resonance frequency which compromises the controller design. This paper proposes a systematic approach to actively damp the LCL filter resonance using the notch filter-based control. An adaptive approach is also considered to improve the control performance under grid impedance variations. At least 80% of transformers failures causes are due to a deterioration of insulating oil in the transformers. The most serious consequences are the ones related to sludge accumulation on the windings and in the solid insulation. This contamination leads to a mechanical insulation failure, which often causes noise at substations, damage to insulating surfaces and partial discharges. Where, power electronics switching frequency may generate a large amount of harmonics. Thus, this work assesses a single-phase inverter control’s based on the Direct Power Control (DPC). The grid synchronization technique has been performed based on Quadrature Signal Generator (QSC) and a Frequency Looked Loop (FLL) with FLL gain normalization owing to its capability to enhance the generated orthogonal voltages and to estimate the grid frequency. Moreover, the DC voltage is maintained stable trough a DC voltage regulator. To improve the generated power quality, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) based PID is performed and compared to PSO based PI. The microgrid has an AC bus to connect distributed solar generators and battery storage elements with the ability to perform in grid-tied and islanded modes. Local control units operate the power electronics converters based on references provided by the supervisory control unit and the energy management system. The purpose is to develop a virtual solar microgrid that can be used to test algorithms of energy management system. The microgrid is reconfigurable to model any real system with solar distributed generators and storage. To do this, firstly the magnetic field and the induced alternating current density onto the buried pipeline were calculated. Then, the effect of the alternating current densities induced onto the pipeline was characterized by the electrochemical measurements. The obtained results were shown that the induction caused by the high voltage power lines (HVPTL) affects the electrochemical character of the buried pipeline and accelerate their corrosion.
