The microgrid has an AC bus to connect distributed solar generators and battery storage elements with the ability to perform in grid-tied and islanded modes. Local control units operate the power electronics converters based on references provided by the supervisory control unit and the energy management system. The purpose is to develop a virtual solar microgrid that can be used to test algorithms of energy management system. The microgrid is reconfigurable to model any real system with solar distributed generators and storage.
