Cost competitiveness in industries such as China and Brazil forces Peruvian companies to seek a strategy of cost reduction, without altering the quality of their products. The production of ceramics is characterized by its sensitivity to faults, which generates defects that may or may not be visible to the customer. The company in study presented high indexes of defective products which leads them to the non fulfilment of orders before the clients, and to the high costs of production. The researchers collected 701 historical data within these companies to estimate the future returns. Applying the SF model to conduct backtesting on the 200 trading covering days before and during the pandemic COVID-19. The study shows that having different parameters set by the researchers to consider from an investor who is most brave and most cautious, no portfolio gave good results compared to the benchmark market. The result section shows the summary wherein the results of these portfolios underperformed the market. It is one of many large companies in Bandung which focuses on the furniture industry. Its folding chairs have become an icon of the company. The product has defects that can not be accepted by consumers. The method that can be used by PT Chitose Internasional Tbk in improving the quality is Six Sigma DMAIC. Six Sigma DMAIC method is continuous improvement of quality to reach 3.4 DPMO (Defects Per Million Opportunities) or sigma level of six. There are three major processes involved in the production of folding chairs, namely construction, finishing, and assembly process. Among those processes, the assembly process of Yamato NN has the highest contribution to produce defective products. The sigma level in this process was 4.082. There are five phases that have to be done in using this method, namely Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. There are corrective actions that had been done in the assembly process. This means that they produce at a lower level than what they can with the capacity and resources they already possess, causing high losses for the company, which is why it is an indicator of great importance. Therefore, this study proposes the improvement of the production process through a model that implements Lean Manufacturing techniques in the line of manufacturing locks in the metalworking company. The study was conducted through the use of engineering tools that diagnosed the current situation and the causes of the problem. Consequently, the techniques to implement are 5's, TPM, Six Sigma and Poka Yoke aiming to reduce defective products, unproductive times and machine downtime in order to improve the level of productivity. The portfolio selection model utilizes the past 500 historical trading days to gather the data and used as a return scenario. The 222 days back testing before and during covid19 hits the Philippines stock market reveals that safety-first model can be a good portfolio model specially when the investors becomes more optimistic on investing in the blue-chips companies. On the other hand, the mean-variance portfolios are outperformed by the market. The Black-Scholes model is selected as the research tool to design the real option method evaluation plan. The practical application results show that, compared with the evaluation results of the net present value method, the real option method analyzes the project value more comprehensively, and the market changes are the evaluation basis, which makes the project economic value analysis flexible and greatly improves the accuracy of the evaluation results. The selection model was applied to past 500 historical trading days and used the same as a return scenario. Testing of data also includes the previous 100 days covering the pre-COVID-19 and during the COVID-19 pandemic and two benchmark markets were used (SPX and XLRE). The result of the study shows that the US REIT investment pool may be a good investment if compared with XLRE as it outperforms the market during COVID-19 if investors remain neutral in their approach. This paper explores and analyzes the 500 dynamical historical returns of Semiconductor Companies with positive earnings per share growth for the past five years in the NASDAQ market. This study aims to examine semiconductor companies' portfolios if they can outperform the benchmark market, which is the NASDAQ. The Safety-first model was utilized to back-test the portfolio and market's performance. 120 days before and during the COVID19 pandemic (September 18, 2019 - August 28, 2020, with parameters of RL = -5% as acceptable investment loss and 5% as accepted loss probability of investment or = 5% as the maximum acceptable probability of investment loss. Also, the budget constraint is 50,000 US dollars. The basic portfolio selection framework has 3 parts. Determining the estimates on the possible performances of the semiconductor companies in the investment pool. Second, considering the likelihood of these estimates. In this study, SP/A theory was utilized with fear and hope trade-off factor of {0, 0.5, 1} such that as it approaches 1 the investor become more optimistic and hopeful. It is important for CEO and TOP management to take fast, fact-based and Data-Driven decisions in a such dynamic environment. Consequently, the project selection phase is recognized as crucial activity. It becomes particularly important to address the future investments, both from financial and economic point of view, and for other factors such as: the alignment with the Business needs, the technology context, other external agents and trends on the market. Moreover, a correct project selection can improve the respect of products/services time-to-market delivery with high-quality standards. The paper describes the design, development and test of a decision support system for projects ranking during the selection phase. The selection and prioritization of the projects in Portfolio is characterized by multitude of criteria and constrains. Therefore, the analysis through Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) has been carried out. The MCDM, the project selection models and Frameworks have been deeply investigated by applying PRISMA methodology in order to find an optimization to Project Portfolio problems for industrial application. Therefore, the model is designed, developed and tested using the ANP (Analytical Network Process) and Fuzzy-TOPSIS methods. The systematic literature review allowed to investigate the methodologies frequently used and applied in literature, in order to find the suitable one in this research field. This research describes an innovative methodology, easy-to-use to support the Managers in projects ranking with rapid and reliable response. The strategic objectives of the company have been analyzed and declined in Critical Success Factors. Further, a wide range of indicators have been chosen, weighted and selected. The ANP (Analytical Network Process) network has been designed and developed, with the support of Managers and Project Managers expertise in this field, in order to fine-tuning the system for the company use. However, in the last two decades, didactics has evolved in the vast majority of fields and this has caused the appearance of different approaches to generate more efficient teaching-learning techniques, which provoke more meaningful learning, motivation and develop skills in students. One of the techniques that has been able to generate good results in the vast majority of disciplines is the use of simulators. One of the advantages of using this type of tool is their capability to show complex and fuzzy problem scenarios for students to relate different variables and conduct experiments. Furthermore, these simulators become an even more efficient tool if they present an achievable challenge for students and can be set up as a game. This article shows the development of a game focused on logistical decision-making that has been developed by professors at our university and that has modified the way of teaching this topic to students.
