The image quality enhancement is an important task, especially enhancing the resolution of the image from new interpolated pixels. The conventional Bicubic interpolation (BI) algorithm used a square matrix obtained by the original neighbor pixels, which surrounds the interpolated pixels, however the image resolution is lost in the depths and and the boundary pixel value are blurred by a block artifact. This proposed algorithm aims to reduce blurred effect from block artifact by enhancing the interpolated pixel values along the edge pixels of the object of interest in the image. In other words, this paper modifies the conventional BI by adoption of Canny based edge mask for adjustment of the pixels along the detected edges in the interpolation process. The result of this proposed study can be applied to the field of camera-based traffic monitoring system.","PeriodicalId":109602,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Information and Communications (ICIC)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134521821","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a research result about using the patient monitor devices in the hospitals today. Since, we proposed and designed a model of a wireless central patient monitoring system for the hospitals in Vietnam. From the single patient monitoring devices, the devices are connected to a WiFi standard single-channel transmitter module. The received data will be transmitted to a multi-channel wireless receiver (Access-Point). At the central station, the multi-channel wireless receiver will be connected to a computer. The received data channels will be stored and displayed simultaneously on software. Here, doctors and nurses can monitor the status of all patients with their device connected to the system. Besides, the software also allows doctors to set alert thresholds for each patient. When measured parameters from a patient outside the allowed range, the system will automatically give warning to help doctor handle in time.","PeriodicalId":109602,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Information and Communications (ICIC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130877928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, a new paradigm called content-centric networking (CCN) has been proposed for scalable, flexible, and secure services in the future networks. With CCN, it is possible to increase the throughput and efficiency of the content delivery. By the integration of D2D communication and CCN, traffic congestion can be reduced and faster content delivery is possible. In this paper, we propose a fast content access mechanism in the wireless network where there are multiple devices, which is based on CCN and D2D. We use multiple networks to send the requested content simultaneously from multiple devices to one device. Our simulation results demonstrate that the proposed mechanism improves the content delivery time significantly.","PeriodicalId":109602,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Information and Communications (ICIC)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129415556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The parameter sets of the filter is examined by fitting the power spectrum density (PSD) of the noise from the simulation with that of the real noise by using the optimization algorithm Lp-norm method (LPNM). The results of ambient noise simulation show that the PSD trend removal of the generated noise is in agreement with that of the measured one. The paper also simulate a channel profile from the data along with LPNM method. The ambient noise from the simulation is added for the simulated channel for evaluating the system performance in term of symbol error rate (SER) values. The SER values are observed at different frequencies, different bandwidths and with different modulation schemes. The simulation results enable us to propose the frequency, the bandwidth as well as the modulation technique suitable to the system under the effects of the modeled ambient noise.","PeriodicalId":109602,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Information and Communications (ICIC)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131812109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several studies have been conducted to characterize the power lines [1], [2], [3], [4],. These studies guide PLC modem designers to create a more robust design. However, it is not practicable to test modems in a live power line network. This research aims to create an emulator capable of replicating the behavior of a typical indoor power line channel and use it as a test bed for PLC modem The emulator is implemented on Virtex 6 FPGA and FMC 151 for the analog front end. The power line channel model uses Zimmerman's channel transfer function [5] as reference. Analysis are done by comparing theoretical results with the hardware results which are done in MATLAB and Xilinx respectively. Several features such as addition of noise are also within the emulator and can be selected by the user to improve the realism of the emulator. Lastly, channel parameters such as SNR (signal to noise ratio) and RMS (root mean square) delay spread are obtained to ensure the quality of the channel produced.","PeriodicalId":109602,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Information and Communications (ICIC)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133680943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the proliferation of Personal Health Devices (PHDs), there is a significant incompatibility issue where devices use special data transfer protocols and can only communicate with special healthcare providers from the same manufacturer, thus interoperability and network energy consumption features become important issues. In this paper, we design and implement an integration architecture of ISO 11073 DIM with FHIR resources using CoAP to exchange health information between personal health devices and healthcare providers for solving communication consumption issues and standardization issues. We design and implement an ISO/IEEE 11073 translator gateway for device standardization and an ISO/IEEE 11073/FHIR translator gateway for Electronic Health Record (EHR) standardization. In addition, we use CoAP as data transfer protocol. An android application that is developed acts as a health manager for healthcare consumers.
