It is a latest technological trend in present arena. It provide an efficient infrastructure, better services over the internet. In CC environment scheduling of services is one of the major issue which can have significant impact on resource utilization and system performance. Work-flow scheduling is a problem of finding the correct execution sequence for assigned work-flow tasks. It plays a vital role in the work-flow management. Proper scheduling of work-flow can have an efficient impact on performance of the system. This paper proposes a scheduling algorithm for work-flows. Key parameters include parent-child relationship, task allocation to available Virtual Machines(VMs) for execution. Proposed algorithm mainly focuses on increasing the resource utilization and reducing the make-span. In proposed algorithm, we create a table that contains ready tasks and their corresponding children in a work-flow, and occurrences of child have been counted. Further, on the basis of child occurrences, this parent-child relationship table is sorted and then used for ready tasks scheduling. The proposed algorithm has been executed and validated by using simulation based analysis through WorkflowSim tool kit. The results of the proposed scheduling algorithm significantly minimizes overall execution time of work-flows.","PeriodicalId":109549,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communication, & Automation (ICACCA) (Spring)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124450404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A mixed line rate optical network supports different data rates on different wavelengths within the same fiber. The optical reach of this network is severely limited by the noise contributed from the combined nonlinear effects inherent in the optical fiber. The paper investigates the performance in terms of Q-factor of 40Gbps transmission channel under different modulation formats in a mixed line rate optical wavelength division multiplexed network in presence of non-linear impairments and channel spacing.","PeriodicalId":109549,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communication, & Automation (ICACCA) (Spring)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115045408","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, Grayhole attack is mitigated with respect to VANET. The prevention is done through Genetic Algorithm. Genetic Algorithm produce solutions to optimization problems by means of techniques stimulated by natural development like inheritance, mutation, selection, and crossover. Two parameters of the fitness function are passed that contain the feature set of one node and threshold for the network. Genetic Algorithm will mitigate the effects. Further, the optimization is done through Artificial Bee colony (ABC) Algorithm. It is developed on the basis of inspecting the behaviors of real bees on judging nectar and distributing the information of food sources for bees in hive. The experimental results show that the application of Genetic Algorithm in mitigation of Grayhole attack outperforms Artificial Bee Colony algorithm. The performance of the network has been evaluated using throughput, end to end delay, packet delivery ratio, bit error rate.","PeriodicalId":109549,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communication, & Automation (ICACCA) (Spring)","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134439888","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the very attractive features, Cloud computing becomes very popular in the IT market, businesses, government organizations and educational departments. Nowadays, task scheduling problem is the current research topic in cloud computing environment. Achieving deadline and reducing cost is the main objectives when we schedule tasks of workflow application on the resources. In this paper, we propose a critical path based workflow scheduling algorithm for cloud computing environment whose main aim is to meet the deadline by finding critical path tasks and reduce overall execution cost of workflow application. We schedule workflow application tasks on resources in such a way that the total execution cost of workflow application is reduced. They are mostly used in areas where human intervention is difficult or impossible. The most commonly used situations where wireless sensor network is widely used are battlefields, traffic surveillance, disasters, environmental monitoring and industrial applications. While deploying Wireless sensor network in the field the designer has to consider various aspects and issues which a network has to face. Various constraints of energy, speed and security are already there in these networks, the situation becomes more critical with the hostile environment that a sensor network has to cope with. In such situations the reliability on data received by these network becomes difficult as chances of error increase and incorrect data is waste data which means the wastage of most limited resource of network i.e. energy. So in this paper the performance of the system is being analyzed by deploying the sensor at different values of distance and further the performance is analyzed with different size of packets keeping the overall amount of data equal in all cases.","PeriodicalId":109549,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communication, & Automation (ICACCA) (Spring)","volume":"159 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121254775","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
