The design of controller for such a system is a challenging task. The main objective of this paper is to design a controller which balances the pendulum in the vertically upright position in spite of small disturbances using optimization based Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) technique. Here the system response is observed for different values of positive semi definite weighing matrix and also tested for upright mode of the pendulum. Finally, the experimental and LabVIEW based simulation results for arm and pendulum response are described.","PeriodicalId":109549,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communication, & Automation (ICACCA) (Spring)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131373772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For these, data collection is a significant aspect in sensor networks. Static data collection has suffered from unbalanced energy exhaustion but the usage of mobile sink or mobile data collectors has expunged the problem of uneven non-uniform depletion of energy resources through adaptive and biased strategies. However this mobile data gathering inevitably introduces longer data collection latency. Therefore, wireless sensor networks raise challenges like timely, swiftly and efficiently collection of the big data from the sensor nodes through scalable approaches. This paper presents the state-of-the-art and qualitative review of recent advances in fast and efficient mobile data collection schemes. Here, survey has been made on such schemes for WSNs and compared on the premise of throughput, network lifetime, delay, energy consumption and tour length.","PeriodicalId":109549,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communication, & Automation (ICACCA) (Spring)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131326334","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to all these merits the single phase motor finds its application in household as vacuum cleaner, fans, washing machine, centrifugal pump, hair drier etc. But the problem with it is its low efficiency. In the proposed methodology the efficiency of a single phase induction motor can be substantially improved by increasing the stator stack length. By doing this one can get decreased value of copper loss and increased value of iron loss. Because effect of decreased copper loss is more, so the net loss decreases. As result of which the effectiveness of the single phase induction motor can be increased.","PeriodicalId":109549,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communication, & Automation (ICACCA) (Spring)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128234358","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are various attacks such as denial of service, scanning, privilege escalation that is increasing day by day leading towards the requirement of a more robust and adaptable security techniques. Anomaly detection is the main focus of our paper. Support Vector Machine (SVM) is one of the good classification algorithm applied specially for intrusion detection. However, its performance can be significantly improved when it is applied in integration with other classifiers. In this paper, we have performed a comparative analysis of SVM classifier's performance when it is stacked with other classifiers like BayesNet, AdaBoost, Logistic, IBK, J48, RandomForest, JRip, OneR and SimpleCart. Multi-Classifier algorithm have better classification power when compared to a single classifier algorithm specially for detecting low frequency attacks such as guess password, rootkits, spyware etc. Our preliminary analysis over NSL-KDD'99 dataset shows that stacking of SVM and Random Forest provides the best performance with accuracy of around 97.50% which apparently better than SVM (91.81%).","PeriodicalId":109549,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communication, & Automation (ICACCA) (Spring)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116996333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Disk performance management is an escalating important facet of operating system research and development. As new types of storage devices are developed, it is necessary to revisit the issue of scheduling to reduce access latency to data on the devices. This work shows the study of various existing disk scheduling algorithms. In these disk scheduling algorithm, we have analyzed that a disk scheduling algorithm with minimum disk access time is best which is totally depend upon it's seek time. So keeping in mind that the seek time has to be minimum, there should be minimum number of disk head movements because seek time is the time entailed by the disk head to move from its current cylinder to the cylinder of the disk request to be fulfilled. Therefore this work proposed a new disk scheduling algorithm that imposes almost no performance penalty over non-real-time optimal schedulers. This paper proposes a new algorithm to improve the seek time. Comparison results has also been compared with the existing algorithms.","PeriodicalId":109549,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communication, & Automation (ICACCA) (Spring)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130621097","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Range resolution can be further improve by introducing a frequency step between consecutive pulses. Resultant signal is known as Stepped Frequency Pulse Train (SFPT). When the product of pulse duration and frequency step become more than one, Autocorrelation Function (ACF) of SFPT shows undesirable peaks, known as grating lobes. Along with grating lobe, the higher side lobes present in the vicinity of main lobe, either can hides the small targets or can cause the false alarm detection. Also, the wide main lobe width deteriorates the range resolution capability of the signal. Many analytic techniques have been proposed in the literature to select the SFPT parameter to suppress the grating lobe, without paying much attention to side lobe and main lobe width. In this paper we have compared three Multi-Objective Optimization (MOO) algorithms to find the optimized parameter of SFPT. The optimization problem is studied in two ways: In first we have taken objective of minimization of grating lobes and peak side lobe level. In second problem, we aimed to minimize the main lobe width, which improves the resolution. Simulations are carried out for different range of parameter values and the result show the potential of the MOO approach.","PeriodicalId":109549,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communication, & Automation (ICACCA) (Spring)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129995769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
