It can be used in the most diverse contexts, facilitating the development of systems where expert knowledge is formalized through logical-mathematical resources, mitigating potential inconsistencies, and promoting more human-friendly interaction services. Problem: The existence of semantic anomalies (use of rhetorical language, polysemy and inaccuracies) in the Brazilian Legal Domain enables the use of Semantic Web standards and technologies to mitigate these problems. Solution: This work deals with the development of an Information System that uses resources from the Semantic Web for the formal representation and the realization of legal inferences about Crimes Against Property. SI Theory: The Behavioral Decision Theory was approached, mainly in the incorporation of real patterns of decision making. Method: Bibliographic and documentary research methods were used to list the main concepts related to the Criminal Types investigated. The research is prescriptive and has a quali-quantitative approach. Summary of Results: A prototype system is presented, integrating ontologies of Brazilian Law with a chatbot that enables interaction with users in natural language, as well as performing reasoning tasks based on the knowledge formalized in these ontologies. Contributions and Impact in the IS area: The research will contribute to the automation of decision-making processes involving crimes against property, serving as an aid for professionals or law students and for legal simulations by ordinary people. Furthermore, it will serve as a reference for the development of other information systems with similar objectives in other contexts.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120940245","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, monitoring the water potential (Ψ), a measure that assesses whether a plant is under water stress, helps management. This article presents the design, development and evaluation of a georeferenced mobile application for coffee farming water potential in the south of Minas Gerais. This work was developed with the premises of Design Science. In particular, in the development of an IT artifact. The research was prescriptive and the artifact was generated as a proof of concept of the system. The analysis of the results was carried out with a quantitative approach. The evaluation of user satisfaction carried out with researchers and coffee growers obtained satisfactory results and validates the importance of the application developed in the decision-making process in the field. The impact is both in the technical and business spheres, since the article contemplates the methodology for developing an artifact that aims to bring scientific research and rural producers closer, as it materializes a model currently available only in specialized journals.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122899920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, when integrating the information systems of these organizations, Systems-of-Systems (SoS) arise. Each constituent system of SoS has its own business goals. When these systems interoperate among them, they contribute to achieving the SoS missions and the strategic business goals of alliances. Problem: However, the interoperability among the constituents is a challenge as the discovery of interoperability requirements is an open question, because of the complexity of SoS Requirements Engineering, mainly due to SoS heterogeneity and dynamism. Solution: The main contribution of this paper is to investigate how SoS interoperability requirements are being extracted, specified, and validated in the literature. Method: A systematic literature review has been conducted based on the process proposed by Kitchenham. Summary of Results: Most of the found solutions extract SoS interoperability requirements at the architectural level and adopt particular techniques for specification mainly based on matrices. Besides that, we did not find any evidence about the requirements validation. Contributions and Impact in the IS area: The main contribution of this work is to shed light on the main techniques used to handle the SoS interoperability requirements and evidence the urgency of the establishment of proper methods and techniques for SoS Interoperability Requirements Engineering, considering the alignment between the business and technical levels.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129044186","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Problem: The malicious use of information can compromise democracy by manipulating people’s opinions. In addition, there are few facilitating mechanisms that classify and help the citizen to know whether a certain news propagated is true or not. This problem has driven new research directions in an attempt to classify and identify these news. Methodology: This work in its methodology performs a comparison of algorithms to serve as an intelligent solution in the detection of fake news in Portuguese. About 12,000 news featured the dataset used for this analysis. Pre-processing techniques were used to analyze the patterns of these news, as well as to reduce noise and eliminate null information. The algorithms used for comparison were Logistic Regression, Stochastic Gradient Descent, Support Vector Machine and Multilayer Perceptron. Result: The results obtained showed that the models generated by the four algorithms obtained an accuracy greater than 90%. To choose the best algorithm, metrics such as precision, recall and f-measure were used for each of the models. The SVM algorithm had the best performance, with 96.39% accuracy. Contribution: In addition to the analytical results presented, this work brought as contributions the availability of a database containing news in Portuguese and an analysis, from the text of the news, both grammatical and structural, in order to detect the existing patterns between true and false.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129170293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Within this relationship, some problems such as contractual breaches may occur. In the Piauí State, the Audit Court, environment in which this research was developed, is responsible for analyzing and judging the accountability of the Legislative, Executive and Judiciary Powers.. Problem: For government control bodies, the challenge generated is to act efficiently in the identification of fraud and corruption. To audit all processes, there is an unfeasible number of records to be analyzed by each auditor. Solution: Optimize the choice of processes to be audited, given the infeasibility of a full census. Thus, the present work uses Machine Learning (ML) techniques to assist in the selection of which ones will be audited. IS theory: Machine learning studies the computational methods that allow computer programs to autonomously obtain an improvement in a given task through experiments. Method: After the preparation applying the balancing and normalization of the base provided by the Audit Court that gathers other datasets about suppliers, experiments were carried out and the J48 algorithm was identified as the most appropriate for classification through the decision tree structure. Summary of Results: The constructed model resulted in a correct classification rate above 82% to solve the problem of classifying suppliers as high and/or low risk. Contributions and Impact in the IS area: The resulting classification model is expected to serve as support for an automatic supplier evaluation and classification system.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124165450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

IoT systems have specific characteristics such as, self-configuration, dynamic changes, device and software heterogeneity. Goal: As IoT systems incorporate several components of the software, hardware, communication, and other features, building requirements documents to such systems become a challenge for Requirements Engineering (RE). Thus, this paper presents TEl-IoT, a template to aid developers during the requirements elicitation activities for IoT systems. Method: We conducted three evidence-based studies. We first performed a literature review aiming to identify artifacts that support requirements elicitation and specification for IoT systems. Second, based on the literature review, we proposed the initial version of the TEl-IoT. Finally, we performed two empirical studies to assess the TEl-IoT: (i) feasibility study with industry regarding the first version of TEl-IoT, and (ii) an observational study to understand how students apply the TEl-IoT in an IoT project. Results: Our results showed that TEl-IoT is viable, and its use reduces the time spent on requirements elicitation, in comparison with the ad-hoc way. In addition, our qualitative results also suggested that the use of TEl-IoT facilitates the requirements elicitation for IoT systems. Conclusion: We expect our template to guide requirements elicitation for IoT systems in practice. Our results showed that TEl-IoT can support developers and contribute to the body of knowledge about RE applicable in the IoT context.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130117686","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With this, the countries chosen by the e-government improve the relationship with the citizens. Problem: Citizen-user systems have their own characteristics and a plurality of development needs and development needs to offer services. Solution: One of the ways to check the quality of computer systems is the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) estimates, which facilitate the identification and correction of problems that can cause wear and tear in the user’s interaction with these systems. IS theory: It was based on the theory of technology acceptance (to the extent that technology accepts), which are important for the use and quality of the application by citizens. Method: We used: Semiotic Inspection Method (communicability), Heuristic Evaluation and Cognitive Path (usability), and MALTU (usability based on user comments in the application store). In addition to their specificities, all of them do not require direct participation from the end user during the process. Summarize: The combined use of the application of methods and problems in the overview of a comparative analysis with a focus on evaluation in applications. Turnover, legacy code maintenance, delivery of fixed deadlines, lack of domain knowledge influences team trust, learning, and member motivation. Organizational climate surveys can provide concrete evidence of how the process, project activities, people, and culture work in practice. Problem: Not assessing specific human factors that contribute to the formation of agile teams’ climate inhibits the capacity for an assertive diagnosis, entailing difficulties for the analysis of possible causes of problems and the execution of corrective actions within climate management. Solution: We present the preliminary evaluation of TACT, an instrument to assess the organizational climate of agile teams, considering the Trust, Knowledge, Learning, and Motivation. IS Theory: Agile Software Development Methods (ASDM) and their effects. Method: TACT was developed using Design Science Research. We executed a case study in a Brazilian and a Canadian organization. We evaluated TACT using quantitative and qualitative methods. Summary of Results: TACT captured that the product owner’s lack of knowledge and experience probably influenced the adverse climate in team trust and that unrealistic deadlines may have generated a lack of team motivation due to an absence of autonomy to plan the iteration. The team leaders reported intention of future use. Contributions and Impact in the IS area: TACT dimensions presented high levels of reliability and can be used to better identify issues and improve actions aligned with the agile values, principles, and practices while developing Information Systems.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126609520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This trend, exasperated due to the Covid-19 pandemic, aligns with ongoing globalization and digital transformation efforts. The information system (IS) scholarship has a strong interest in studying groups that develop digital technologies with a frequent focus on global virtual teams. Such teams, which frequently form ad hoc, require a swift formation of trust to be effective. Global-perspective taking overcomes intercultural trust barriers and presents an opportunity for more effective teams. Problem: However, academic IS programs traditionally do not teach or assess concepts such as global-perspective in their students. Our study assesses whether university IS educators can impart global perspective-taking through online intercultural exchanges (OIEs). Theoretical reference: We examine the effects of global perspective-taking (comprising cultural intelligence, global citizenship, and civic-mindedness) on the effectiveness of global virtual teams through the lens of swift trust theory. Method: We conducted an exploratory study by creating OIEs in the context of web development coursework between students in the United States and Brazil (N=131). Results: We found that an OIE environment led to enhanced global perspective-taking and improved student outcomes. The swift trust theory suggests that such outcomes would ultimately enhance virtual team performance. Impact on the IS area: We contribute to the IS scholarship by extending the swift trust theory to include global perspective-taking and provide practical suggestions to academic IS programs on implementing effective OIE practices. We also report the benefits of global perspective-taking on international virtual team performance, which is of interest to hiring organizations.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122051001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
