Problem: Social networks can influence users both positively and negatively, one of the negative impacts is the spread of fake news. In this context, identifying the correct source of information or whether the information is true becomes an extremely relevant activity. Solution: This paper presents an approach for authorship attributions that combines text mining and temporal analysis techniques. IS Theory: This work is under the Social Network Theory, in particular, the user interaction through a forum network model, in which each post creates a comment thread and the user can reply or not inside the thread. Method: This work is a controlled experiment and it aims to extend a previous case study that used a classification between two and ten authors. The results were validated through a quantitative approach. Summary of Results: Among 10 authors, classification results had more than 97% of accuracy with chars feature having more than 99% of accuracy, among 100 authors all features presented more than 70% of accuracy. Contributions and Impact in the IS area: The main contribution of this works is to validate the authorship attribution in a big data context, using significant features and a robust classifier model.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116422429","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Problem: Before proposing changes to UMP, it is necessary to evaluate the improvements in relation to the available infrastructure. This can be accomplished through computer simulation. Therefore, one of the major challenges to simulation is data lacking. Solution: This work evaluates changes to UMP and their impacts on urban mobility using different traffic flows, supported by computer simulation. Web information is used to generate lacking data. IS (Information System) Theory: Computer simulation can support the decision making process and allow municipalities evaluating different situations before making changes to the current traffic scenario. Method: Simulation of traffic scenarios using Web information to generate lacking data. The resulting output can support the decision making process. Summary of Results: According to the experiments carried out in the context of this work, considering different traffic scenarios, there was a drop of 4% in CO2, 15% in CO, 10% in HC, 4% in NOX, 5% in fuel consumption and 7% reduction in travel times. Contributions and Impact in the IS area: The main contribution of the article is to enable a technology based on traffic simulation for evaluation of UMP that can provide information and support for decision making process even with the absence of a full dataset.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"105 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132781178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Problem: In addition, according to the Pesquisa de Endividamento e Inadimplência do Consumidor (PEIC), the percentage of families that reported debts reached 76,3% in December 2021. This number indicates the need for solutions to help people manage their personal finances. Solution: This article proposes an intelligent virtual assistant model named ADAM to help manage personal finances. Considering the proliferation and accessibility of instant text messages applications, the model uses chatbots and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to extract information from sentences and texts. NLP allows better user interaction since the users can employ their natural language. IS Theory: The work was carried out following the Design Theory. In addition, the foundations of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) were also used mainly to evaluate the artifact. Method: The work adopted Design Science Research as a research method. Problem understanding and the construction of the artifact were carried out with the support of specialists in the finance area. Ten academic community participants and finance specialists evaluated the artifact. Summary of Results: Six users rated the artifact as easy to use and intuitive, facilitating the management of personal finances. Also, suggestions were made to improve the artifact. Contributions and Impact in the IS area: Among the main contributions, the intelligent virtual assistant model stands out, which uses NLP to facilitate interaction with people in managing their finances and bring more autonomy to them.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115703067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, Business Processes-based Digital Games (JDBPN) are a game genre used to learn and understand business processes in an organization, associating their goals with fun and ludicity. For this, the JDBPN’ elements need to approach business processes’ aspects correctly. Problem: Among these elements, narratives can be helpful to present the process’ instances and their details to the players. However, designing these narratives is a challenge. Solution: This article aims to identify methods, frameworks, and proposals to help the creation of narratives for JDBPN. Method: The research methodology followed a systematic mapping of the literature. However, as JDBPN is a new theme, there was a need to execute the mapping in two steps: i) narratives from games with a purpose and ii) narratives related to business processes. Summary of Results: As a result, we found 794 studies that, after analysis, we selected 14 studies. By the snowballing technique, we added 10 more studies. All of those 24 studies present relevant features for designing narratives for JDBPN. Contributions to IS: Hence, this research contributes to information systems and their dimensions, since we approach the understanding of business processes (organizations), how the players (professionals, clients, or business partners) face the processes problems, and, also, focusing on the narrative design as an element for the engineering of the digital game (technology).","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121087100","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, some of these decisions are entirely made or influenced by Machine Learning algorithms. Problem: Research is starting to reveal some troubling examples in which the reality of algorithmic decision-making runs the risk of replicating and even amplifying human biases. Along with that, most algorithmic decision systems are opaque and not interpretable - which makes it more difficult to detect potential biases and mitigate them. Solution: This paper reports an overview of the current literature on machine learning interpretability. IS Theory: This work was conceived under the aegis of the Sociotechnical theory. Artificial Intelligence systems can only be understood and improved if both ‘social’ and ‘technical’ aspects are brought together and treated as interdependent parts of a complex system. Method: The overview presented in this article has resulted from a systematic mapping study. Summary of Results: We find that, currently, the majority of XAI studies are not for end-users affected by the model but rather for data scientists who use explainability as a debugging tool. There is thus a gap in the quality assessment and deployment of interpretable methods. Contributions and Impact in the IS area: The main contribution of the paper is to serve as the motivating background for a series of challenges faced by XAI, such as combining different interpretable methods, evaluating interpretability, and building human-centered methods. We end by discussing concerns raised regarding explainability and presenting a series of questions that can serve as an agenda for future research in the field.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128545193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although the indicators of public security events recently decreased, there is still a feeling of insecurity, while the population uses social networks to notify illegal acts that occurred in their vicinity. Although this collaboration is limited to the crimes that occurred, many published messages are difficult to interpret. Knowledge Discovery is a process of extracting data in an implicit, previously unknown, and useful way that can be applied for different purposes. In this context, Natural Language Processing is a powerful tool that allows the extraction of information from these unstructured data. This work proposes a methodology for automatic knowledge extraction, in the form of statistics related to public security events posted on social networks, particularly the ones occurred in Rio de Janeiro. The main contribution of this work is the proposal of a methodology for the construction of an Information System that allows the collection of statistics of notified public security events. In addition to this methodology, which can also be used in the construction of other Information Systems, this work contributes with a public security event recognition model that has a performance of 95%, and an available dataset that can be used to support other researches, such as: the identification of new behavior patterns, the discovery of hidden knowledge, among other fronts.","PeriodicalId":106528,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114634933","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, it is understood that this phenomenon emcompasses something much broader, as it brings to light not only fear, but also rejection or hostility towards different ethnic groups. Although it is not a contemporary problem, recent factors such as economic and humanitarian crises have shown that the problem is growing. Problem: Twitter is one of the most used social networks for data mining studies, due to its large number of posts. These singularities make the platform conducive to the proliferation of hate speech. Solution: The present research aims to develop a tweet classifier system for xenophobic messages. IS theory: This work was conceived under the aegis of Organizational Learning Theory. In particular, the Support Vector Machines strategy was used together with the TF-IDF statistical technique, in order to engineer a predictive model for learning potential patterns within the collected data. Method: The research conducted in this study is quantitative, organized through the following methodological procedures: (i) data collection, (ii) controlled laboratory experiments, and (iii) construction of the classifier. Summary of Results: Among the results for the developed classifier, the one with the best performance was the SVM with Kernel Sigmoid, with an accuracy of 90%. Thus, the research results are encouraging for the identification of xenophobia in social media.
