This information are explicit or implicit since they can be inferred in particular from the interaction of persons in those media. Hence, a relevant challenge in the semantic social web domain research is to capture this information and decrypt its semantics. In this context, this paper proposes an extension of SIOC ontology to describe the different persons activities in the principals social Medias. The goal is to make efficient social networks analysis by aggregating their different contents.","PeriodicalId":106483,"journal":{"name":"2014 Third IEEE International Colloquium in Information Science and Technology (CIST)","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122285346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, studies considering users' preferences are relatively insufficient in this domain. The aim of this paper is to propose an approach to provide personalized services to users, using context history and machine learning techniques. In this approach, we integrate, to pervasive recommender systems, the ability of predicting user preferences on new context situations even in unforeseen contexts that have not been considered when building the knowledge base of the system. And this, in order to serve the user in a proactive and uninterrupted way in various contexts that may arise in the future.","PeriodicalId":106483,"journal":{"name":"2014 Third IEEE International Colloquium in Information Science and Technology (CIST)","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132211471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, Location-based social networks (LBSNs) have attracted important researchers' efforts, to investigate spatial, temporal and social aspects of user patterns. LBSNs allow users to \"check-in\" at geographical locations and share this information with friends. In this paper, analysis of check-ins data provided by Foursquare, the online location-based social network, allows us to construct a set of features that capture: spatial, temporal and similarity characteristics of user mobility. We apply this knowledge to location prediction problem, and combine these features in supervised learning for future location prediction. We find that the supervised classifier based on the combination of multiple features offers reasonable accuracy.","PeriodicalId":106483,"journal":{"name":"2014 Third IEEE International Colloquium in Information Science and Technology (CIST)","volume":"34 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121187079","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To guarantee optimal diffusion, it is necessary to determine a tree that connects the source node to all destination nodes minimizing the use of resources. In this paper, we propose an artificial neural network for the construction of the multicast tree, based on adjustable-order statistic filters. Our approach for solving this problem differs from the conventional approach used in the field of neural networks. Our primary concern is how to organize neurons into a network so that it can solve a specific problem, with an emphasis on fully utilizing the massive parallelism property offered by neural networks.","PeriodicalId":106483,"journal":{"name":"2014 Third IEEE International Colloquium in Information Science and Technology (CIST)","volume":"2008 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127308752","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our algorithms are based on the idea of dividing quality adaptation into two stages. The first stage, Layer Level Initialization (LLI), allows adapting to static resources at the peers. After streaming starts, another set of algorithms called the Layer Level Adjustment (LLA) is used to adapt the H.264/SVC streams with available real time resources of P2PTV. LLA is evaluated and compared with Progressive Quality Adaptation (PQA) on Quality of PSNR metric using PSIM simulator. Performance evaluation demonstrates that LLA outperforms PQA and provides a significant improvement in the PSNR value in term of adapting the Quantization Parameter (QP) with instantaneous throughput available at the peer.","PeriodicalId":106483,"journal":{"name":"2014 Third IEEE International Colloquium in Information Science and Technology (CIST)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127185971","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But, there is a problem when it comes to the current load of each virtual machine. The dynamic algorithms as \"Efficient Response Time Load Balancer\" and \"Mini time processing load balancer\" prove to be a solution to respond to this problem. The advantage of these algorithms, before allocating a task, is that they search in the allocation tables on the virtual machine, with a metric which is quite inferior (be it the response time or the processing time). In this paper, we propose a new improvement of the load balancing by our hybrid algorithm, that takes into account, the current load of the virtual machine of a data center and the status of its tasks during execution, in order to overcome the problems caused by the static algorithms. The hybrid algorithm allows cloud service providers, to improve the performance, availability and maximize the use of virtual machines in their data centers.","PeriodicalId":106483,"journal":{"name":"2014 Third IEEE International Colloquium in Information Science and Technology (CIST)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123743251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their possible applications are extremely versatile and are expected to be intensely applied in different domains such health, agriculture, habitat monitoring, routing traffic, security and military. WSN represent a significant technology that attracts more and more considerable research attention in recent years. It has emerged as a result of recent advances in low-power digital and analog circuitry, low-power RF design and sensor technology. Wireless Sensor Networks consist of a large number of miniature devices called sensor nodes scattered over a geographical area called sensor field. These nodes are attempted to collect information or data which is forwarded through gateways called base stations. The communication scenario through sensor nodes leads to some amount of energy wasting. Therefore we need to design suitable techniques and protocols in order to optimize the energy consumption and increase the network lifetime. This paper proposes a novel energy-aware framework for a long-lived sensor network. Our framework is based on clustering architecture and achieves a good performance in terms of lifetime by minimizing energy consumption for in-network communications and balancing the energy load among all the nodes. In fact, it's an energy optimization approach based on cross-layer for wireless sensor networks, joining optimal design of the physical, medium access control, and routing layer. The framework enables the network to be dynamically reconfigured and efficiently using every node's energy and distributes management tasks to support the scalability of the management system in densely deployed sensor networks. This approach focuses on the computation of optimal transmission power, routing, and duty-cycle schedule that optimize the WSNs energy-efficiency and by the way, reduces node energy consumption and contributes to extending the lifetime of the entire network. The approach is evaluated using the NS2 simulator. Simulation results show that it is an energy-efficient approach and able to achieve significant performance improvement as well.","PeriodicalId":106483,"journal":{"name":"2014 Third IEEE International Colloquium in Information Science and Technology (CIST)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133401123","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
