Even though many meta-analyses show positive findings, there is an urge for large clinical studies to improve the perception that there is an effect. To test the awareness of homeopaths in the research needs, a survey was developed asking about usefulness, and everyday use of research findings. Methods: The respondents were identified by the degree of academic study, age, experience, kind of practice, region of practice, and scientific background. To understand the predominant thoughts, questions were asked to define whether Homeopathy should be considered and studied as science if the homeopath regularly reads scientific papers, and of what kind. Also, the definition of which kind of literature contributes the most to ameliorating the quality of medical attention, the usefulness of basic and clinical research, the source of the research budget, and the priorities for future research. The forms were created in Spanish and Portuguese, and distributed by email, mostly in South America during July and part of August 2023. Results: A total of 463 responses were analyzed. More than 90% of the respondents were practicing homeopaths and 209 were MDs, 64% participated in a scientific study in the past. When asked about developing homeopathy, 50% preferred clinical research, 19% meta-analysis, 11% basic research, 11% HPT and 6% clinical verification. Funding should be provided by public institutions, Universities, and pharmaceutical companies. When asked about prescribing 76% relied on experience transmitted by masters, 66% on their own experience, and 48% on clinical research. Clinical research was found useful in 88% of the sample. There was no clear response when asked about sources for improving clinical practice. Conclusion: Homeopaths are informed about scientific research but have no clear perception of how it may improve clinical practice.","PeriodicalId":106057,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of High Dilution Research - ISSN 1982-6206","volume":"69 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139153576","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The majority of these incidents are caused by snakes of the genus Bothrops, which comprises over 45 species distributed in Central and South America. These snakes usually hunt small mammals and lizards at dusk. Snakebites from this genus generally occur in the head, limbs, and neck regions. Bothrops snakes are considered aggressive animals, characterized by inverted \"V\" markings along their bodies, triangular heads, smooth tails, and length ranging from 0.5m to 2m. They exhibit color variations of brown, green, and gray. Bothrops venom has necrotic, coagulating, vasculotoxic, and nephrotoxic effects, which can cause extensive necrosis at the bite site, tissue loss, and limb dysfunction, sometimes resulting in amputation. The bitten animal may experience prostration, tachypnea, localized edema and pain, petechiae, hemorrhages, and extensive necrotic areas. Hematuria, hypotension, pulmonary edema, and even death, as well as various laboratory abnormalities, may also occur. The case reported herein was attended at a veterinary clinic in Campos Altos, Minas Gerais, Brazil. It involved a mixed-breed female dog, 3 years old, weighing 4.5 kg, which had been bitten by a Bothrops snake approximately 90 minutes before. The animal presented edema and pain at the site of the bite (pelvic limb), as well as tachycardia. At once, it was administered intravenous polyvalent antiophidic serum, dexamethasone, serum, furosemide, tramadol, and ceftriaxone (antibiotic). Local treatment included corticosteroid and antibiotic ointment dressings. The animal remained stable, but after 24 hours, an extensive area with edema, hematoma, bleeding, and early necrosis at the bite site was observed, worsening with each passing hour. After 48 hours, therapy with Bothrops CH6 (5 globules every 8 hours) was initiated to reduce local effects (edema, hemorrhage, and necrosis). The animal showed rapid improvement in the appearance of the lesion, and after 5 days of treatment, there was no longer edema or bleeding, only a circumscribed cutaneous injury, which was managed with local dressings (cleaning and healing ointment). The animal recovered well without any sequelae.","PeriodicalId":106057,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of High Dilution Research - ISSN 1982-6206","volume":"15 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139168468","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objective: To prove experimentally whether traces of medicine molecules are present in ultra high dilution and determine its apparent cause. Materials and Methods: To detect existence of Copper ion in 5 ultra high dilutions (6c, 30c, 200c, 1000c and 10000c) in Cuprum metallicum were subjected to Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry. An experiment was also set up to determine how one can obtain trails of original molecules in highly diluted solutions beyond Avogadro’s limit where a solution of copper sulfate was successively diluted decimally in three different ways: NSW (Non-”Succussed” Water), SW(“Succussed” Water), SWE (“Succussed” Water with 50% ethanol) and was studied by UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. Result: Existence of a Copper ion was found asymptotically decreasing through all the five dilutions. In the second experiment it was observed that in case of NSW solution the Optical Density (OD) reaches to non-detectable (ND) range earlier, but for SW and SWE later. Conclusion: Some sorts of non-homogeneity established in “succussed” alcoholic dilutions due to fall of dielectric constant. With the increase of dilution more proportion of solute molecules in the form of nanoparticles covered by solvent layers become transferred to the next serial dilution. Drugs, tightly packed by ethanol (‘nanoparticles’) easily enter inside cell, bring symptoms to the “provers” and cure patients as well when applied in minute dose.","PeriodicalId":106057,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of High Dilution Research - ISSN 1982-6206","volume":"18 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139169489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Herein, methylene violet was selected from a pilot study to identify the homeopathic complex (Arnica montana 30 cH, Phosphorus 30 cH, Arsenicum album 30 cH, Ignatia amara 30 cH, and Staphysagria 30 cH) designed to be used in the Nascentes do Rio Taquari at IMASUL Environment Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul = Brazil) request, intending to facilitate the ecosystem's bioresilience after being burned down in September 2020. Brazil has no legal restrictions on using dynamized products in the natural environment. Methods: the complex was prepared in ethanol 30% and soaked in biodegradable inert gel (calcium acetate) set at nine strategic points in the park. Water samples were harvested from each point at different times, before and after the insertion of the devices. Then, they were filtered through a 0.22 Micra mesh filter for sterilization and frozen. For analysis, 1 cH potencies of each thawed water sample were prepared using 30% ethanol as solvent. The ready-made samples were submitted (or not) to a magnetic field (2400G average) for 15 minutes, whose flow was generated from a neodymium magnet (5.08 cm x 5.08 cm x 12.7 mm) isolated from any other electromagnetic influence. Soon, after magnetizing, samples were added 1:60 into methylene violet dye, prepared in water pH=4.0, in microplates, and read in an ELISA reader at a wavelength of 598 nm. Controls were 30% ethanol, Ethylicum 1cH, and magnetized water. Statistical analysis was performed by the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and parametric or non-parametric ANOVA, with p≤0.05 considered significant. Results: Significant differences between the homeopathic complex and controls were seen when magnetized samples (p=0.0045). Instead, only one sample (point 2) without magnetization showed statistical significance (p≤0.05) from the controls. Conclusion: using solvatochromic dyes can be considered a good method to track the presence of the homeopathic complex in spring water, and the magnetization of samples seems to be an efficient tool to improve the method’s sensitivity.","PeriodicalId":106057,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of High Dilution Research - ISSN 1982-6206","volume":"240 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139170146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: HOHM Foundation officially launched its Office of Research (HOHM Research) in 2017 in keeping with the mission to enrich and support homeopathy, and an overarching aim to build infrastructure whereby rigorous outcomes-based research supports the deepening and expansion of the discipline of Homeopathy. Results: Recent peer-reviewed publications include five papers on the education of complementary and integrative medicine practitioners, as well as three observational case series of selected COVID-19 cases from the HHN Clinic. Additional papers based on the 5000+ dataset of acute cases from the Homeopathy Help Network (HHN) clinic are currently being prepared. From the Practitioner Generated Research Network (PGRN) – an organization promoting practice-based, patient-focused, practitioner-generated research that potentizes the profession of homeopathy and expands it into the larger scientific and integrative medical communities - a paper exploring attitudes to and uptake of repertory software in homeopathy clinical practice was published in Homeopathy in 2023. Current papers from the PGRN in the publication phase include an observational clinical case series using MYMOP 2017-20, and an observational clinical case series using MYCaW 2020-22 data, both collected from clients who attended the Academy of Homeopathy Education (AHE) chronic clinic. Other current research work focusses on artificial intelligence in Homeopathy, on the characteristics, demographics and perceptions of users of homeopathy in the US, the 2022 North American homeopathy education surveys, the 2023 North American workforce survey, and a clinical trial on Homeopathy in the management of Silicosis taking place in Brazil. They're susceptible to giardiasis, impacting human health and Alouatta genus conservation. Studies report parasite occurrence in wild and captive individuals. While asymptomatic infections are common in captivity, immunosuppression can lead to severe cases. São Paulo's Wildlife Division maintains a large captive population. To assess Giardia duodenalis presence, fecal samples were collected from 43 individuals in 17 enclosures over three days, totaling 153 examinations. Animals were asymptomatic, with some groups showing loose stools. Two processing methods (direct and Sheather) were used, followed by quantitative evaluation based on cysts per slide. Only one enclosure tested negative; others were rare (4), slight (8), or moderate (4). Despite being asymptomatic, treatment was chosen to prevent positive animals from spreading infection. Allopathic treatment was impractical due to enclosure size; homeopathic Giardia 30cH nosode was given via water and food for 15 days to 16 positive enclosures. Afterward, 144 fecal samples were reanalyzed over three days. Seven enclosures were negative, 8 were rare, one was slight, none were moderate. All had firm feces.
