Although the grid connected supply does not have a competitor, households are also trying to prepare for a temporary emergency electricity supply. Many households have a few kW of household-sized Photo Voltaic (PV) power plants. They are not able to operate independently in island mode. We investigated whether a small-scale energy storage and an emergency gasoline engine aggregator could work with PV inverters. We built experimental measurement assemblies on a scale of a few kW and then tested their operation. It can be said that solar inverters cooperated well with the network forming inverter with electronic frequency control, while in case of the small generator with an gasoline engine because of the frequency instability was not always adequate. Overall, it can be stated that most of the PV inverters can be operated in microgrid island mode operation with the appropriate extension (e.g. frequency forming machine or electronics).","PeriodicalId":105691,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 16th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128190600","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to considerable variety of sensors used for images capture and hardware limitations the quality of obtained images is not always the desired one. A large amount of research has been done in the field of image de-noising and sharpening in order to compensate this effect. Encouraged by the positive results obtained by using dilated filters in edge detection domain we explore the usage of this concept in classical sharpening algorithms. In this paper we propose an enhancement of classical low-cost computational solutions for sharpening like High Pass Filter (HPF) and Unshap Masking (UM) by using dilated filters concept. The proposed modified sharpening algorithms obtain better results visually and statistically than the classical approaches.","PeriodicalId":105691,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 16th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123787280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Technological revolutions are increasingly representative of the mapping of globalisation processes, including digitisation. Mobile technology, ambient intelligence, digital games, big data-based technologies and algorithms are now an integral part of our world [1]. The penetration of mobile phones is greatly aided by the methodological and technological solutions defined by digital pedagogy [2] that can be supported by them [3]. Digital education has enriched the existing methodological culture and the possibilities provided by digital tools with a number of good pedagogical practices. New elements include hybrid teaching, interactive tasks, free-word assessment and evaluation methods, project assignments or portfolio-based student work. In addition, the increasingly evolving content consumption patterns present new challenges, for which the exploitation of virtualised learning environments and processes [4] and the digital competence deficit [5] may offer appropriate solutions. Drawing on our research and pedagogical experience, my presentation will present the methodological, technological experiments and good practices mentioned above.","PeriodicalId":105691,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 16th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131280973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the real-time railway traffic management problem arises that requires the rerouting and rescheduling of the trains. The optimization aims to minimize the secondary delays assigned to the trains solving the traffic management problem. In this paper, we propose a mixed-integer linear programming model extending the previous works in this field with a safety-relevant signaling concept, the so-called overlaps. The proposed model provides a strategic decision minimizing the delay propagation that is safer and more feasible considering the actual railway traffic regulations. The results are verified through a simulation environment highlighting the impact of overlaps in different infrastructures and scenarios.","PeriodicalId":105691,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 16th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"201 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134368702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Practical examples of WWTPs will be analysed. In the second part of the talk, several aspects related to the modelling of biological processes from WWTPs will be presented. Thus, the modelling paradigms will be investigated, and some specific models will be presented. For example, the so-called ASMs (Activated Sludge Models) developed by Henze et al. since 2000s are very complex models, which necessitate further reduction and interpretation to be used in control design. The last part of the talk will be dedicated to WWTPs control. As we can observe in many reports and from the field situation in several WWTPs, the implementation of advanced control is very poor. In many cases, the SCADA systems are working by using empirical rules and classical controllers (such as PID, on/off). Thus, the performance of WWTPs is not as expected. The use of advanced control would lead to a significant improvement in both efficiency and performance. The trends in the design of bioprocess control algorithms are related to adaptive, intelligent, predictive and/or optimal control. Several approaches will be presented, starting with the adaptive control initially developed by Bastin and Dochain in 1990s and continuing with model predictive control and intelligent approaches (Neural Networks, bio-inspired algorithms, etc.). Some practical examples of control implementation from a WWTP will be provided.","PeriodicalId":105691,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 16th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127623437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Quantum computers promise substantial speedups over conventional machines, and libraries allow the emulation of circuits on a quantum computer in different highly configurable noise models and even run on quantum computers. Therefore, we need to analyze this class of heuristic methods in the quantum context. We propose a circuit level implementation of the Reduced Quantum Genetic Algorithm (RQGA) using Python and Qiskit. Our main goal is to analyze the circuit complexity from the perspectives of the number of qubits required and the number of quantum gates used. To achieve our goal, we instantiate the framework for solving the knapsack problem, examine the results in a simulated environment, and analyze the circuit's complexity.","PeriodicalId":105691,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 16th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133558871","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Instead of the generalized medical recommendations defined in literature, patient-specific limits should be applied, taking into account the specific medical history of the given user. To follow up and analyse the patient's condition, the measured values have to be compared to the specified recommendations. During this comparison it is insufficient to examine the instantaneous value, it is necessary to take into account the measurement statistics for longer periods. In this paper statistics-based fuzzy sets are evaluated using similarity measures. The basic idea of the proposed method is to create a fuzzy set representing the current state of the patient based on the histogram of the measured values. The authors propose a Simplified Centre of Gravity method-based similarity measure to compare the current state to the personal medical recommendations. The aim is to assess patient state progress, based on which the improvement or deterioration of the overall health condition can be monitored.","PeriodicalId":105691,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 16th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114126956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
