Several behavioural therapies and medications are normally available for de-addiction and rehabilitation. Yoga Prana Vidya (YPV) is an integrated and holistic system that consists of no-touch no-drug energy healing protocols and simple to practice. This paper presents cases of various addictions successfully overcome using YPV System Protocols. Method: This paper uses case study method going through case papers and feedback reports from subjects who had successfully overcome addictions using Yoga Prana Vidya system of protocols. Results: An Indian sample of 30 documented cases shows that Yoga Prana Vidya healers applied YPV protocols for de-addiction of these cases successfully, and the 7 subjects who could be followed up confirmed that they successfully sustained the change. An in-depth case study of a subject in Australia healed by a YPV healer in Australia shows that the subject cured completely of alcohol addiction after 2 weeks of YPV healing. Further to it, this subject learnt YPV Level 1 healing and became a healer to continue healing himself and others as well. Conclusion: YPV system is integrated and holistic, without touch or use of drugs. Decades of experience with YPV practice shows that many types of physical, mental and emotional illnesses have been cured successfully. YPV is easy to learn and simple to practice by all. Further research may be conducted on a larger sample of varied conditions of addiction to gain broader insights into this phenomenon. These patients may develop complications requiring surgical consultation and intervention which have led to concerns regarding delay in the surgical management of these patients. Currently, there is a paucity of published data worldwide with regards to whether there is a delay in the time taken to perform the intended emergency procedure that has been planned by the attending surgical team. Method: This single-centered, retrospective study aims to investigate whether there is any delay in performing emergency surgical procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic in HSB from 1/3/2020 to 30/3/2021. All the cases were categorized based on recommended priority into acute emergency, emergency, and urgent. Results: There were a total of 105 patients; 5(4.8%) acute emergency cases, 22(21.0%) emergency cases, and 78 (74% cases) required an urgent intervention of which the majority had an endoscopic procedure performed i.e., 85.9% (67 cases) compared to surgery, 14.1% (11 cases). Patients in the emergency procedure category took the longest time to intervene whereby the median time taken was 548 minutes. 50% of patients in this category were delayed. Patients in the acute emergency category had delays seen in all 5 patients, with a median of 239 minutes. On the other hand, patients in the urgent category had only 10.3% of the patients who were delayed. Conclusion: From the total of 105 patients requiring emergency surgical intervention over 12 months period during the COVID-19 pandemic, the delay was seen in 24 patients (23% of cases). Multiple factors contributing to the delay have been postulated, pertaining to the implementation of the new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in managing COVID-19 patients in general, which needs to be verified with further study and addressed accordingly. Anterior segment neovascularization involving the iris, the angle or both is accompanied by the formation of a fibrovascular membrane that obstructs the aqueous outflow through the trabecular meshwork and results in rise of IOP. Here we present a case of a fifty seven year old male who presented with diminution of vision in left eye since 45 days associated with pain and redness L/E since 15 days. On examination visual acquity of R/E was 6/6,N6 and in L/E patient denied perception of light. Importance factors found to determine phlebitis incidence include the kind of infusion and dwell time of intravenous cannula. The use of the visual infusion phlebitis (VIP) score tool for the assessment of the early signs of phlebitis along with prompt removal of peripheral intravenous cannula has been very successful in reducing below the acceptable rate of 5%. However, achieving this goal depends on strict compliance with guidelines for cannula insertion, documentation and assessment using the VIP tool.","PeriodicalId":105328,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Integrative Medical Sciences","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125459983","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their etiology remains unclear, but they are known to have associations with allergy, asthma, infection, fungus,cystic fibrosis, and aspirin sensitivity. However, the underlying mechanisms interlinking these pathologic conditions to nasal polyp formation remain unclear. In the present cross-sectional study was carried with 100 patients diagnosed with nasal polyposis in the age group of 10-60 years of both the sexes were studied during this period from June 2014 to October 2015 in the department of ENT, Kakatiya medical college attached to MGM Hospital, Warangal were found in large majority age groups of 11 – 30 years, men are most commonly seen affecting than women (men: women are 2:1).Allergic rhinitis is strongly associated with nasal polyposis, most common symptom is nasal obstruction, anosmia and facial pain are also seen.Most of the patients had nasal polyps reaching beyond the middle turbinate. And also, most of the patients had bilateral ethmoidalopacification on CT scan.only few showed sphenoid and frontal opacities.Steroid therapy was useful in 38% of patients.All others required endoscopic sinus surgery. Also, strong genetic factors are implicated in the pathogenesis of nasal polyps, but genetic and molecular alterations required for its development and progression are still unclear.","PeriodicalId":105328,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Integrative Medical Sciences","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125227863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In view of importance of detecting the refractive error in children an effort is going to be made in this study. To find out the extent of problem of refractive errors among children in Raichur. Materials and Methods : the prospective study was conducted with 100 number 10-15 years children from the Raichur. All the children were examined with visual acuity by snellen’s chart, Examination of anterior and posterior segment, Retinoscope, trail set and cycloplegic refraction followed by subjective correction will be done. Results : The prevalence of Refractive error in the 10-15 years children was found to be 11%, higher in 15 years (3%), more in girls (6%) and in urban area children had more prevalence (7%). Myopia was the commonest type of refractive error in this study which constitutes 55%, Astigmatism 27% and 18% of hypermetropia was seen in the 10-15yrs children. Conclusion : Most of the children are unaware of Refractive error, so screening of children is very important. Parents have to take the responsibility of this screening for vision error and they should monitor the their vision vial watching tv, reading books. The screening system should be yearly at least 3 time a year to every child especially 14-15 years student.","PeriodicalId":105328,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Integrative Medical Sciences","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125683193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
