A non-parametric detection scheme for texture satisfying these two properties is proposed. It is based on Lilliefors test for texture increments normality and Kolmogorov-Smirnov two samples test for equality of distributions of pairs of increments. The scheme is tested against large real-life images database and is shown to detect and remove such image patterns as edges, areas with clipping effects, irregular and anisotropic textures.","PeriodicalId":104769,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123536921","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The desired problem is reduced to finding fields of a plane wave diffracted on the \"symmetrized\" radome. The passage of the wave through the wall of the radome is analysed by means of geometrical optics. Caustic influence is taken into account, and the contribution of stationary phase points of reflected field to the far-side radiation is discussed. Radiation patterns for antennas with a specified ampliphase distribution enclosed in spherical and parabolic radomes are analysed.","PeriodicalId":104769,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125869088","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tweeks are observed during nighttime and represent response of the Earth-ionosphere waveguide to excitation by lightning strokes. Tweeks are formed by series of pulses consecutively reflected from the waveguide boundaries under different incident angles depending on a source-observer distance and effective ionosphere height along a propagation path. The tweek signals demonstrate the propagation of a few Earth-ionosphere waveguide modes. We determined propagation path's parameters such as source range, ionosphere height, and azimuthal orientation of a propagation path. We used then a time-frequency representation of analyzed tweek waveforms to infer separate branches, corresponding to different waveguide modes. Obtained results show the increase of attenuation for higher modes with increase of a source distance.","PeriodicalId":104769,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125581546","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such arrays are known from earlier theoretical and experimental studies to possess very narrow resonances. The earlier studies were carried out using the “two-term theory.” The present work is a direct continuation of a recent paper showing that the problem possesses unique and particular difficulties. The main difficulties are overcome herein using a set of improved kernels in the usual Hallйn-type integral equations (these kernels had been developed in previous works, and were successfully incorporated into the aforementioned two-term theory analyses). We make a comparison of our MoM results to two-term theory results for the case of a 20-element array.","PeriodicalId":104769,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory","volume":"69 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114042760","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been shown to be robust and adjustable by means of tunable parameter δ. Basic properties of this estimator were studied; however its practical behavior needs further analysis. In this paper, we study and analyze the efficiency of the meridian estimator for samples with essentially different properties. For this purpose, we use generalized Gaussian distribution as a model. Also, the efficiency of the meridian estimator is compared to the efficiency of median and myriad estimators.","PeriodicalId":104769,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131312349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
