Based on the application, the achieved positional accuracy levels vary from meters to millimeters. IRNSS-GPS-SBAS (IGS) receiver is capable of receiving all the seven IRNSS satellite signals in L5 (1176.45MHz) and S1 (2492.028MHz) band in addition to twelve GPS satellite signals and two SBAS (GAGAN) satellite signals in L1 (1575.42 MHz) frequency band. In this paper the position accuracy is evaluated in terms of 2DRMS, 3DRMS CEP, SEP, Geometric Dilution of Precision (GDOP) and Doppler shift in various modes namely Hybrid (IRNSS L5 and GPS L1), IRNSS dual frequency (L5 and S1), IRNSS L5 only and IRNSS S1 only mode. In Hybrid mode, it is found that all the positional accuracy values are better than the corresponding other mode values.","PeriodicalId":104746,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSYM)","volume":"102 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115646153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the aerospace structures are close to cylindrical shape. The scattering problems often involve objects that are quite large in terms of wavelength, hence the matrix equations obtained using numerical methods such as Method of Moments (MoM) are large in size and computationally complex. In this paper, RCS of circular, elliptic and semi elliptic dielectric cylinder is computed using MoM. In order to reduce computational cost, conjugate gradient-based accelerating algorithm is employed. It is shown that the computational time is reduced significantly when accelerating algorithm is incorporated into RCS computations.","PeriodicalId":104746,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSYM)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131378590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a theoretical method to calculate the reflection phase of circular patches is reported. This is done by adapting an already published work for rectangular patch elements. The estimated reflection phases for circular patches in X band are compared with simulated values for substrates of varying thickness and dielectric constant. The comparison leads to the understanding that the method works satisfactorily for thin substrates with any dielectric constant and for moderately thick substrates with high dielectric constant. This observation is, of course, consistent with that made for the rectangular patch.","PeriodicalId":104746,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSYM)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117330985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A complete simulation of the TWT is very useful in avoiding iterations and failures in TWT development cycle. In this paper, the CCTWT designed in the X-band frequency range, has been simulated using the Eigen mode solver and the particle-in-cell solver of the three-dimensional software package, CST Microwave Studio. The slow wave structure along with the couplers is designed initially with the equivalent circuit approach and later optimized using the Eigen mode solver of CST MWS. The initial estimate of the total number of cavities and the number of cavities per section was obtained using large signal analysis which was later optimized using Particle-in-cell Solver of CST MWS. The Simulation predicted an output power of around 1 kW and 27 cavities.","PeriodicalId":104746,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSYM)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122127763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the design and optimization of a Ku-band compact corrugated horn antenna is demonstrated using the ANFIS technique. The performance in terms of radiation pattern, peak gain and return loss of a horn designed using the ANFIS algorithm is compared with that of a horn designed using the commercially available antenna design software. The results of the horn designed by ANFIS were found accurate and attained within a short processing time and with limited computational resources as compared to the conventional horn design techniques.","PeriodicalId":104746,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSYM)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117277168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the designed filters, the equivalent RLC parameters have been extracted. Performance assessment of these filters has been carried out based on various parameters like, cut-off frequency, pass-band width, pass-band insertion loss, attenuation at resonant frequency, etc. The fabricated CPW-ADGS filter shows pass-band width of 0.9 GHz with attenuation at resonant frequency of -23 dB. IE3D simulation results and theoretical results show good agreement with measured results.","PeriodicalId":104746,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSYM)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115211942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
