Abstract

Non Destructive Testing (NDT) technique using microwave is one of the most challenging areas for researchers. In the present paper, various type of open-ended waveguide sensor using transmission mode has been studied for detection of slotted discontinuity in a metallic plate. The study has been carried out in X-Band where the size of discontinuity is comparable with the dimension of open end of wave guide. The studied techniques provide better resolution with compared to other reported results.
