Therefore, interferometric phase filtering is performed to suppress phase noise, thereby reducing difficulty on subsequent phase unwrapping. The slope adaptive filtering is widely applied because of its ability to maintain interferometric fringes well. But the ability of existing slope adaptive filtering methods are limited because a smaller window have to be used for fringe estimation in dense fringe areas. In this paper, a multi-frequency slope adaptive filtering method is proposed to enlarge the filter window size in dense fringe. It converts the low-frequency interferometric phase to the high-frequency reference terrain phase, uses a larger window to perform noise suppression on the residual phase after removing the reference terrain phase from high-frequency phase. So a better noise suppression effect is obtained in dense fringe area. Experimental results with simulated and real data demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":104561,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar (APSAR)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129479223","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The nonnegative eigenvalue decomposition (NNED) is used as the decomposition method. For the volume scattering model in the decomposition, we utilize the Yamaguchi volume scattering model, in which three kinds of distributions are used in relation to physical distribution of the vegetation target under observation. Along with the decomposition, we also examine the variation of the DoP before and after a flood event. By considering the time variations of both the double bounce scattering and the DoP, damage situation of the flood around residential area can be estimated. We show some experimental results of ALOS-2/PALSAR-2 data including flooded residential area before and after a flood, to confirm the validity of the proposed usage of the decomposition and the DoP.","PeriodicalId":104561,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar (APSAR)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130620330","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this scenario, SAR-algorithms normally generate two dimensional images, because of large ambiguities in height, whereby the horizontal slices are mere copies of the slice at ground level. Our investigation focuses on the effect of the flight path on these ambiguities. For this purpose, we compute the simulated 3D pointspread function for several flight paths and compare them to those for a straight flight path. We analyze the volume data through slices parallel to the coordinate planes and a topological peak detection algorithm. For the non-straight flight paths, the location of the point target can be pinpointed in the set of slices parallel to each coordinate plane, but not for the straight flight path.","PeriodicalId":104561,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar (APSAR)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128418719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, while the groundwater level is recovering, new ground uplift problems are occurring mainly in urban areas. The risk of ground uplift disasters is a concern. In this paper, we apply a type of time-series SAR analysis “PSInSAR”, to X-band imagery, which is well suited for analysis in urban areas, to monitor areal ground deformation. The analysis showed that the RMSE is 1.1 [mm/year] compared with the level survey data, and it is suggested that the data can be supplemented in the temporal direction. In addition, we found that there is a strong correlation (R=0.74) between groundwater level rise and ground uplift.","PeriodicalId":104561,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar (APSAR)","volume":"233 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123040659","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, due to the coherent summation of the return echoes and the random electromagnetic interference, a SAR image will be significantly affected by the noise, reducing the readability of the image. To deal with this issue, in this paper, we propose an iterative non-local denoising method based on multi-resolution. First, the cascade downsampling is performed to get the multi-resolution sub-images. Then, the 2-D discrete cosine transform is applied to each fragment segmented from the sub-images. After that, grouping the similar fragments by using the pHash algorithm. And the basic denoising image can be obtained by performing collaborative filtering and aggregating. Finally, a denoising image can be acquired after iterating processing. Real airborne SAR data is used to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":104561,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar (APSAR)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115903318","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A multi-temporal of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images of dual-polarization Sentinel-1 data collected from January 2020 to January 2021 are good enough to show the variation occurs in two or more regions in Lampung Province based on starting their cultivation time in the paddy field. This study provides the recommendation for detecting paddy rice phenology from two different approaches. Backscatter values (σ0) generated from VV, VH, VV/VH, and VV-VH and dual-polarization radar vegetation index (DpRVI) that has arranged to show the paddy rice growth and phenology pattern are compared with the observation directly from the field at a different time of cultivation period. Both patterns matching with the acquisition time of the direct observation has represented the similar pattern created by radar backscatter and dpRVI with an accuracy of about 85%. The characteristic of phenology and paddy rice growth pattern in the many regions in Lampung province is possible to detect using backscatter values and DpRVI.","PeriodicalId":104561,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar (APSAR)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127417734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because the operation frequency of LF UWB SAR is in the same frequency band as radio, television and mobile communication signals, these radio frequency interference (RFI) signals are inevitably received by LF UWB SAR. RFI signals and target echo signals are mixed together, resulting in lines or noise in the imaging results, therefore seriously affect the detection ability and imaging quality of the LF UWB SAR. Although the traditional notch method is widely used in RFI suppression, its RFI suppression effect is poor. Moreover, the traditional notch method is only suitable for the suppression of narrowband RFI signals, but when the wideband RFI signal exists, the effect of RFI suppression is quite poor. But in practice, wideband RFI signal and narrowband RFI signal exist at the same time, so it is difficult to obtain ideal RFI suppression effect by using the traditional notch method. Based on the traditional notch method, an RFI suppression method based on azimuth frequency domain notch is proposed in this paper. Not only the proposed method can suppress narrowband RFI signal, but also it can obtain the great RFI suppression effect when there exists the wideband RFI signal. Experimental results show that the proposed RFI suppression method based on azimuth frequency domain notch has better RFI suppression effect than the traditional notch method when narrowband RFI signal and wideband RFI signal exist at the same time.","PeriodicalId":104561,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar (APSAR)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121707272","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
