Amazingly, increasing food production receives more attention than exertions to salvage food losses. Population-Food imbalance crises caused by food wastage and spoilage are common in most developing nations of the world including Nigeria. One of the common objectives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Health Organization is to assist the efforts of member states throughout the world to provide safe and nutritious food supplies locally and globally. There are no exact data on how much of the world's food supply is spoiled, but losses are enormous, especially in developing countries where a warm climate favours the growth of spoilage organisms and hastens the deterioration of stored food. In such countries, the estimated storage loss of cereal grains and legumes is overwhelming high. This review brings in a lateral measure, assessment of impart of food irradiation, advancement and knocks, crises and windfalls with its practices in Nigeria, dissecting for the best global irradiation practices in Nigeria for food security and safety.","PeriodicalId":104034,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Internal Medicine and Health Affairs","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134482570","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This measure upholds sustainability for the clean and green environment. Acetic acid is a potent harmful chemical compound. However, it is used in the chemical industry, medicine, household, and foods. Exposure to industrial compounds that contain Acetic acid is hazardous to health. Severe allergic reactions manifest from exposure to Acetic acid include rash, hives, difficulty in breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips or tongue, irritation, sensitivity, etc. The use of binary immiscible solvents in the analysis of Acetic acid gives the thermodynamic predictive parameter, namely: Partition coefficient (kD), which serves as an indicator that provides the amount of Acetic acid in the environment under suspect. Also, partition coefficient, kD highlights the efficiency of either the removal of Acetic acid from the environment or gives amount of Acetic acid extracted from effluents/sewage assessment by using the technique on the value(s) obtained from partition coefficients. Methods: Acetic acid was dissolved in three binary immiscible solvents, namely: Carbon Tetrachloride-Water, Diethyl Ether-Water and n-Hexane-Water, at 30℃ and an atmospheric pressure. Varying quantities of Acetic acid (the solute) were distributed into the respective binary immiscible solvents. The different volumes of AnalaR Grade reagent of Acetic acid were respectively poured into the separating funnel. The separating funnel was shaken vigorously and allowed to stand in order to establish equilibrium of diffusion of the solute in the system, as reported earlier by Onyeocha et. al. Titre-values were obtained for the concentrations of Acetic acid in the two phases of binary immiscible solutions that were formed. Results: The results in the three systems were analysed, Acetic acid had the partition coefficient, kD = 0.05838 in Diethyl Ether-Water, the dimerization constant, K = 0.0068 while ionization constant, = 0.03998 in the same system. Acetic acid had the kD = 0.05674, K = 2.0281 in magnitude and = 0.0013, in n-Hexane-Water and kD = 0.01643, K = 250.9771 and = 0.0196 in Carbon Tetrachloride-Water. Conclusion: This work shows that Carbon Tetrachloride-Water, Diethyl Ether-Water and n-Hexane-Water are efficient binary immiscible solvents for the analysis of Acetic acid proven waste treatment management for effluent and sewage disposal to ensure the sustainable clean and green environment devoid of any residual Acetic acid. Indeed, partition function, kD is a novel thermodynamic parameter recently introduced by Onyeocha et. al. for the quantitative evaluation and residual assessment of Acetic acid in the environment.","PeriodicalId":104034,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Internal Medicine and Health Affairs","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122477644","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The topic is rooted in a quest for awareness of heart rate variability (HRV), HRV biofeedback (HRVBF), preventive approaches to hypertension (HTN), and efforts to decipher a correlated stance between HRVBF and hypertension. Biofeedback is a non-surgical therapeutic method with negligible side effects seeking to maintain a homeostatic balance in the human body, with the individual in control of positive life-changing therapeutic interventions such as heart rate, breathing, and mechanisms for blood pressure. This article considers a systematic review of sixty-three articles, from which fifty-two were read and analyzed, and eleven appraised. The reviews helped explore the various theories about HRV biofeedback (HRVBF) as an essential tool to assess cardiac autonomic function considering the onset of hypertension. The current evidence shows that HRVBF, HRV, and HTN warrant a significant look at how crucial it is in the involvement of the neuro-cardiovascular system. For a clear interpretation of the mechanisms involved, this article uses the lenses of HRVBF, HRV, HTN, and presents an outlook assessment of heart rate variability biofeedback efficacy, and challenging explanations of HRV. Three primary questions enunciated to ascertain if a correlation exists between HRVBF, and hypertension (HTN) are: Is HRV biofeedback (HRVBF) important in detecting individuals with a higher risk of hypertension? What is the association between HRV biofeedback (HRVBF) and hypertension? Do people with decreased HRV biofeedback have a higher propensity for hypertension?","PeriodicalId":104034,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Internal Medicine and Health Affairs","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122717813","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Richard Asher syndrome has not been reported from Iraq before. Patients and methods: The case of a patient complaining of recurrent bleeding per rectum over the previous seven years is described. Results: A male who was otherwise health was seen at about the age of 30 years because he was complaining of recurrent bleeding per rectum of about seven years. He didn’t have bleeding from another site or any systemic symptom. He said that the last episode of bleeding occurred before about one week. All of the previous investigations including ESR complete blood count, stool examinations, abdominal ultrasound, abdominal X-ray, barium enema radiography and lower endoscopy showed normal findings. He said, previously a doctor diagnosed his illness as ulcerative colitis and prescribed him oral sulfasalazine to be taken during the episodes of bleeding, and another doctor suggested surgical removal of the colon. As it was not possible to identify any pathology, he was advised to wait for the next episode, and to do stool examination on the day of bleeding. However, after few weeks he came again and said that the last episode of bleeding occurred before about one week, and he didn’t do stool examination during the days of bleeding. Conclusion: As early as 1955, Tyndel rightly criticized naming the syndrome after Baron Munchausen, as this name is not representative of the syndrome, and considered to be misleading because Baron Munchausen was considered as a source of harmful fantastic humor. Therefore, the appropriate name is Richard Asher syndrome. The first case of Richard Asher syndrome from Iraq is reported in this paper.","PeriodicalId":104034,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Internal Medicine and Health Affairs","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128757205","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of vaccines can prevent the development of diseases and thereby eliminate the further need for medical care. However, achieving the desired success after applying this technique, as well as after any other medical exposure, depends on certain initial conditions. To date, it is known that optimal results were achieved after vaccination against infectious diseases that can be transmitted through contact with an already sick person, and the most striking example of such success is a complete victory over such a centuries-old scourge of humanity as smallpox [1]. At the same time, it should be recalled and clarified that such infectious processes they are the result of the presence of only one specific pathogen and the introduction of the vaccine to an individual recipient provides him with either lifelong or long-term resistance to this disease.","PeriodicalId":104034,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Internal Medicine and Health Affairs","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124580381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
