Being a branch of Social Sciences, Comparative Religions nourishes in a scientific environment; and therefore, started viewing religion as a secular branch of study and a subjective phenomenon. The term, ‘Comparative Study’ has been used as synonymous with Science of Religions, History of Religions and Philosophy of Religions. However, the paradigm of Comparative Religions differs from the traditional pattern of study of other religious traditions and faiths, viz. to prove the authenticity and veracity of one’s own religion over other religions. This paper intended to highlight the concept, history, objectives and paradigm of Comparative Religions. The Western modern Comparative Religionists employs it to develop a sound understanding of the history, origin, and structure (including religious beliefs, rituals, morals and other important teachings) as well as agreements and differences among various religions of the world. Hinduism and Islam, being considered among the major religions of the subcontinent, also emphasized the importance of pilgrimages (or sacred travels), i.e. visits to certain places in order to overhaul and purify the stained soul that is the abode of human will, worldly desires and determinations. However, the difference lies in endorsement and execution of performing pilgrimages. Thus, making our topic a unique blend to actually formulate the exact triangle and its vertices that keeps the worshipper moving along the whole life. The research aims at drawing inferences and findings as to what are the real differences that lie between the purpose and achievement regarding sacred travels in Hinduism and Islam. {"title":"خود کارہتھیار\" اسلامی اساسی تناظرات کی روشنی میں\"","authors":"Usmani Muhammad Tayyab","doi":"10.32350/mift.22.04","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.32350/mift.22.04","url":null,"abstract":"The aim of this article is to introduce the Autonomous Weapon Systems (AWS) or Lethal autonomous weapon systems (LAWS); and its numerous problematic issues. Furthermore, it argues in favor of Islamic theoretical foundation to ban these weapons based on fundamental Islamic doctrines that concerned with human rights, war, weapons development and human life-saving principles in the perspective of maqāṣid al-sharīʿa and Sadd al-dharā’i. Similar principles could be traced in international treaties, for instance Geneva Conventions (1949), that firmly established an international customary law ensuring fundamental human rights for all humans regardless of their nature, culture or religion. In fact, the Holy Qur’an is the valid source that provides the fundamental principles of Islamic Jurisprudence. This is the reason why the Jurists have keenly explored the Holy Qur’an in every age. They had made arrangements to learn the knowledge of recitations and refer to the readers in time of need so that the recitations could indicate the effects of modern Jurisprudence. In this Article, an attempt has been made to bring forth the examples from the recitations of the Holy Qur’an which have an effect on the rules of Jurisprudence which are directly related to modern Jurisprudential issues:1) the Maqam-e-Ibrahim is commanded to offer prayers; 2) What is the ruling on fighting within the limits of Haram Shareef ? 3) What is the ruling of Islamic excuse for a wife? 4) What is the order of ablution in case of holding the wife by hand? 5)Torture is prohibited for secretary and witness.6) What is the true ruling on entering Islam? The fundamental principles of that religion are very essential to him/her in conducting and regulating matters of life. Due to this reason, mankind learns the teachings of his religion and try to incorporate those in their lives as laws and legislations. In this paper, we are going to compare and contrast the teachings of Islam (a monotheistic religion) and Hinduism (a polytheistic religion) in terms of respecting humanity. Speaking is the most authentic source of conversation among all. For reaching to the soul of a speech or confabulation, man has set universal principles and rules. For interpretation of a speaker, the most inevitable thing is to understand the language in which a narrator is speaking, to explore the context, to look the conditions in which a discussion is being held and then to use intellect to determine the meaning. The same rules are applied for interpreting the saying of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). By ignoring these rules, it is most likely to misinterpret the traditions of Prophet (S.A.W). Traditions and Hadiths are the key interpretation of the Holy Quran and themselves are the laws. So, in this situation, it becomes more important to apply universally accepted and established principles to reach the true meaning. Islamic scholars, particular Hanfi scholars, gave exceptional importance to these principles and applied them to understand the traditions. Molana Anwar Shah also applied those rules in elucidation of the hadith. The basic question is which are those basic rules and principles? How these rules may apply in Hadith? How Molana Anwar Shah interpret the Hadiths?
