They provide timber and other products as well as important climate- and water-regulating ecosystem services. However, their useful functions have been compromised by unsustainable management and climate change. Therefore, there is an urgent issue of defining ecologically sound methods and volumes of forest harvesting and planting under progressing climate change. Hence, this paper describes the framework and the main methods for the study of the forest landscape prospective evolution under different scenarios aimed at the development of an optimal management strategy. The study is realized via a forest landscape simulator LANDIS-II as the case of Rakhiv administrative region in the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains (total forested area of 1,340 km²).A forest landscape is interpreted as a process dynamic heterogeneous geoecosystem, which consists of ecotopes (elementary geographic ecosystems) with tree vegetation. A biotope, as a set of a tree stand properties, is a controlled component (output) of the ecotope, while a physiotope, as a set of abiotic tree stand conditions, is a controlling component (input). Biotopes change in space and time driven by succession, species migration, climate change, natural disturbances, and management. Such a framework has been realized by the means of LANDIS-II simulator for the six main species: European beech, European hornbeam, Norway spruce, pedunculated and sessile oaks (as one ecological unit), silver fir, and sycamore maple. The study focuses on the spatiotemporal change of the above-ground live biomass during the future 200 years with geospatial resolution of 30 m and timestep of 10 years.A natural (intrinsic) evolution of the Carpathian forest landscape has been simulated under five climate change scenarios (RCP2.6, RCP4.5, RCP6.0, RCP8.5 and baseline) and different regimes of natural disturbances – windthrows and spruce bark beetle invasions. Now, the three main scenarios of forest management are under parametrization: 1. Inertial (persistent) scenario aims at preservation of vast single-aged spruce plantations. 2. Current adaptive scenario, which provides for tree stand restructuring according to current conditions. 3. Foresighted adaptive scenario, which considers conditions of the end of the 21st century.Key words: Carpathian Ecoregion, forest geoecosystem, forest landscape simulator LANDIS-II, climate change, forest management, ecotope, physiotope, biotope, landscape. The Caucasian mountainous country combines a variety of natural conditions. The relief alternates with powerful alpine systems, areas with hilly relief, plateaus and lowlands. Climatic conditions vary from sharply continental to humid subtropical. On the territory of the Caucasus Mountains, you can find eternal snows and glaciers, coniferous, broad-leaved and subtropical forests give way to steppe and semi-desert spaces. Due to its unique natural conditions, the Caucasus has a high potential for recreational balneological resources. Historically, the Caucasus has taken a leading position in terms of the number of various resorts in various directions. The recreational resources of the Caucasus are represented by warmth, sea air, an abundance of sunlight (direct and reflected from the water surface), clean air with the smallest drops of sea salt and iodine, saturated with ozone and oxygen and, as a result, have healing properties for the cure of many diseases. The southern slope of the Greater Caucasus is much shorter than the northern one and therefore drops abruptly to the south. The southern slope of the Greater Caucasus has the best conditions for the development of sanitary and resort facilities and many types of recreation and tourism. This is due to the favorable natural balneological and recreational resources, their diversity. The unique geographical position of the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus, the complexity of its geological and geomorphological structure, the richness of natural resources, as well as belonging to one of the most ancient centers of civilization in the world has led to the existence of a large number of rare ecotourism objects and thus created ample opportunities for the development of this modern, perspective and profitable sphere. The region, with its unique natural and historical features, is important for ecotourism. Morphologically, it belongs to the “winged forelamds”, and hydrodynamically it is a kind of coastal barrier. Behind barrier-based reservoirs are wetlands of international importance that are of significant conservation value. The front part of the barrier develops under the active influence of the wave factor, which causes seasonal and perennial morphodynamic changes. Under conditions of prevailing destructive processes, partial or complete destruction of the barrier is possible, which can lead to the destruction of the unique properties of isolated reservoirs. In order to determine the current state of the coastal zone and prevent the negative consequences of destructive processes, we monitor morphodynamic processes within the studied coastal system. The length of the coastal system of Kinburns’ka-Pokrovs’ka-Dovgy is about 35 km. Along the front of the system we laid 7 stationary reference sites for monitoring morphodynamic processes. The location of the system of benchmarks is due to the structural-morphological and dynamic features of the coastal zone of the system. Within the reference areas, the leveling (transverse profiles) of the coastal zone is repeated annually to determine the quantitative parameters of the dynamics. In parallel with the leveling, we annually perform GPS-tracking (fixation) of the metric parameters of the coastal strip. This allows you to determine the dynamic trends of the coastline. In order to form a reliable idea of the trends in the development of the shores of the system for many years, we conducted an analysis of archival cartographic material and satellite (aerial) images of different years. The analysis of the obtained material allows us to state that during the observation period along the front of the system destructive processes are dominant, but, at certain stages of development, they are periodically replaced by accumulative processes. Regarding the quantitative parameters of the shore dynamics, they have significant differences between individual stationary areas.A system of stationary areas, GPS-tracking (fixation) of the coastal strip, analysis of cartographic and aerial photographs of satellite images have been developed, which allows us to consider the results of the research reliable.Key words: coastal system, “winged foreland”, coastal barrier, spit, shore bar, ledge of erosion. The scientist accentuated that the local folk pronunciation should be the basis and the prerequisite of the authenticity of different forms of geographical names. According to the “Dictionary of Ukrainian Language”, toponymy is a “set of geographical names of settlements, mountains, plains, lakes, rivers, forests, etc. certain territory” (Білодід та ін., 1979). Professor’s “Materialy do geografichnogo slovnyka Halychyny i Bukovyny” (“Materials to geographical vocabulary of Galicia and Bukovyna”) available with the section of manuscripts of Vasyl Stefanyk Lviv National Scientific Library are given scrupulous analysis. Said materials contain as follows the alphabetical index of vocabulary positions, materials to the collection of topographical names, map of settled localities, toponymic descriptions collected by different people. The whole variety of geographical names of the Galician and Bukovynian settlements is reduced to three “big communities”: names that possess regional nature; names that originate from proper names; other (smaller) groups of names. The regional names of settlements are characterized by such attributes as their appearance, local specificity, disposition with respect to the suburb, hydrographical specificity, soil quality, means of communication, plant (flora) or animal (fauna) specificities. The proper names of settlements possess nominative or adjectival “appearances” as follows: nominative names ending in -ичі, -иці; adjectival names ending in -ь, -ів, -ин; nominative names ending in -івці, -инці; nominative names ending in -івка. The other (smaller) groups of settlement names include colonization, fortification (defensive), occupational, newcomer encouragement, forest, church, tavern, jocular and habitation names. It is substantiated that geographical names of settlements, rivers, mountains, forests, etc. should be presented as used by the local population. It is stated that M. Korduba organized and collected the organization and collection of rich material to the geographical dictionary of Galicia and Bukovina, which includes topographic names, maps and dialectal names of their settlements; developed a detailed classification of geographical names of settlements in Galicia and Bukovina has been developed, covering three main “communities” (local history, personal and others) and 21 “smaller” groups of names of settlements.Key words: professor Myron Korduba, geographical studies of settlements, Ukrainian toponymy. They are a new functional type of territories of Ukraine, which currently includes 114 “old” administrative districts of 14 regions of Ukraine. The total area of these territories is 150.2 thousand km2 with a population of 2.8 million people. The list of rural areas in unfavourable conditions, the criteria for their delimitation, which are officially approved in the State Strategy for Regional Development of Ukraine for the period up to 2027, contain controversial points and require scientific evaluation. The study, based on the analysis of statistical data and the use of datatowel.in.ua platform tools, cartographic method, defines the inter-district and regional differences in the main characteristics of rural areas in unfavourable conditions. It is established that the determination of these areas was carried out in violation of current approaches and criteria for their delimitation, in particular the criterion limits of the indicator of the population decline rate. The study found that almost 25% of areas belonging to this functional type of territory are not rural according to EU criteria. The article proves the necessity of introducing variability in the use of criteria for the identification of rural areas in unfavourable conditions, in which areas that correspond to two of the three existing indicators, can be attributed to them. It justifies reducing the threshold value of the criterion “Population decline rate” from 30% to a value that is 25% higher than the national average. 14 districts in ten regions of Ukraine, which should be included in the list of rural areas in unfavourable conditions in the near future, are identified. The article reveals the peculiarities of delimitation of rural areas in unfavourable conditions at the level of territorial communities on the example of Chernihiv and Sumy regions. The need to concretize the tasks of overcoming the problems of rural territories, which are spelled out in the State Strategy for Regional Development of Ukraine for the period up to 2027, is proved. One of the directions of modernization of the system of geographical education at school is the introduction of computer technologies into the educational process, the introduction and use of effective teaching methods. Today, the priority of universal values is tangible in education. The modern teacher in his work should set such tasks as to be closer and more accessible, more interesting and more effective. Among the common and popular interactive approaches are the following: creative tasks, games (role-playing, simulation and developmental), use of human resources (excursions, invitations of specialists), social projects, use of new material (interactive lectures, video and audio materials, student in the role of “teacher”, Socratic dialogue, questions), problem solving (associative maps, brainstorming, case analysis). Practice shows that the use of the above interactive methods helps to achieve better results in modern education. Recent research shows that interactive learning not only helps the student to easily learn new material, but also to memorize it for a longer period of time.During the geography lesson, students can interact with the teacher and with each other, as well as conduct training individually and at a comfortable pace in extracurricular activities. Joint activity is manifested in the fact that everyone contributes, in the course of work there is an exchange of knowledge, ideas, methods of activity.Today we are at the stage of updating the entire education system, in which the teacher is the facilitator and coordinator of the information flow. He needs to master modern methods and educational technologies to communicate in one language with students. Therefore, for a successful lesson, the teacher must master all possible resources that will help to attract and organize students in the learning process, give them a balanced motivation to learn, as well as create an optimal and comfortable environment for each student’s own ideas and aspirations.Key words: interactive methods, active methods, active learning. A number of functions are revealed (socio-economic, resource, ecological, recreational, educational), principles (historical, differentiation, integrity, objectivity, methodical interconnectivity) in the study and analysis of the development of farms, methods of studying the territorial organization of farms (historical, monographic, calculation-constructive, abstract-logical, statistical, cartographic methods, systematic approach, etc.), types of their zoning (on the specialization of plant growing, animal husbandry, integral function but-typological). The algorithm of research of the farms on the regional level with the use of statistical and mathematical methods is suggested, the main indicators of which are the average long-term size of farms within the region for a certain period, specialization of plant growing and livestock farming. In order to identify the specialization of crop and animal husbandry of farms, trajectories of their development, it is proposed to use the coefficients of territorial localization. The index of livestock provision in agricultural holdings has been proposed for assessing the forage base. In order to generalize the materials on the influence of various factors on the development and functioning of farms, the most appropriate methodological approach is to create a matrix of correlation links. The final stage of the socio-geographical research of farms is the development and justification of a set of measures for the further development of farms and increase their socioeconomic and environmental efficiencyIn the article all stages of socio-geographical research of farms are considered. It should be noted that it is the territorial differences of natural agrarian resources in the region that most differentiate agricultural production and determine the development of farms.","PeriodicalId":103323,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Bulletin of Kherson State University. It is emphasized on the interdisciplinarity of research in the topics of inclusiveness. The historical preconditions of the forming the concept of inclusive development are highlighted. It has been determined that the policy of inclusive growth provides the involvement of all population and all social groups (without exception and including the most vulnerable categories), as well as territories (including the most remote ones) in solving political, socio-economic, ecological and cultural problems of country’s (region’s) development. \u0000Attention to the quality of life and increase of the average life expectancy, strengthening the ideas of human centeredness led to the actualization of theories of economic growth and social welfare, their transformation into the conceptual foundations of inclusive development and the dissemination of these ideas into all sciences, in particular into geography. At the same time, the new concept of inclusive development has become a logical evolutionary result of the continuation of ideas embedded in its time in the spatial theories of development. The inclusive approach broadens the traditional models of economic growth and emphasizes the equality of health, human capital, state of the environment, social protection as factors of social security. Of great importance are non-material factors relating to culture, ethno-national characteristics, specific political systems, which determines possibilities of creating and successful activities of inclusive institutions. \u0000Inclusive spatial development in the article is defined as a process of structural changes accompanied by economic and social activity at every vertical and horizontal spatial levels, that provides improvement of the quality of life on the basis of maximum employment, equal access to opportunities and services for the local population and on the basis of the effective use of all resources. The contours of modern inclusive policy in the World and Ukraine are marked, directions of further scientific research of inclusiveness in social geography are determined.","PeriodicalId":103323,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Bulletin of Kherson State University.
