It is shown that velocity of a flow is proportional to intensity of electric field between the emitter and a collector of ions. All solid-state pulse generator with voltage of U f = 0-12 kV and pulse repetition rate of f = 10-25 kHz is applied to feed the plasma emitter. It is experimentally established that the increase in high voltage and frequency of the plasma emitter feeding leads to increase velocity of a gas flow. The circulation system with a gas flow rate more than 15 L s–1and velocity more than 1.6 m s–1 was proposed for electric-discharge lasers.","PeriodicalId":103215,"journal":{"name":"ALT Proceedings","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124372933","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

RPLD allows controlling the thickness and stoichiometry of deposits with definite band gap. So RPLD was used for synthesizing nanometric iron and chromium oxides films for thermo-photo-chemical sensors. We compared sensing properties of iron and chromium oxides nanometric films deposited on <100>Si substrate by RPLD. These iron and chromium oxides films have semiconductor properties with the band gaps less than 1.0 eV. The largest photosensitivity of iron and chromium oxides films was about 44 Vc/W and 2.5 Vc/W, accordingly, for white light at power density ~ 6x10-3 W/cm2. Vc is “chemical” photo e.m.f.. Maximum value of thermo electromotive force (e.m.f.) coefficient of iron and chromium oxides films was about 1.65 mV/K and 3.5-4.5mV/K, accordingly. Iron oxides films were tested as chemical sensors: the largest sensitivity of NO molecules was at the level of 7x1012 cm-3. Our results showed that nanometric iron and chromium oxides films synthesized by UV photons can be used as up-to-date materials for multi-parameter sensors operating at moderate temperature.","PeriodicalId":103215,"journal":{"name":"ALT Proceedings","volume":"115 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131510699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was found that the multi-pulses action of this laser radiation with pulse energy below hard tooth tissues ablation threshold promotes increase in the microhardness of enamel at 25% and microhardness of dentine at 35%. Such research can open new perspectives in esthetic and preventive dentistry.","PeriodicalId":103215,"journal":{"name":"ALT Proceedings","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114414494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The c-Si wafers of different crystallographic orientations and doping levels were used, which results in variations of the formed nanostructure size and degree of order. For the excitation at 1064 nm the ratio of Raman scattering signals for SiNWs and those for initial c-Si wafer ranges from 2 to 5, whereas for shorter wavelengths the ratio increases for more ordered arrays of SiNWs of greater diameter and decreases for less ordered SiNW structures. The TH signals in SiNW ensembles demonstrate both fall and one- or two-orders-of-magnitude rise in comparison with c-Si depending on the structure of the SiNW ensemble. The obtained results are explained by the effect of partial light localization in SiNW ensembles.","PeriodicalId":103215,"journal":{"name":"ALT Proceedings","volume":"157 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126901137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its principleof operation relies in the tight focusing of shortlaser pulses inside the liquid and close to its freesurface, in such a way that the laser radiation isabsorbed in a tiny volume around the beam waist,with practically no absorption in any other locationalong the beam path. If the absorbed energyovercomes the optical breakdown threshold, acavitation bubble is generated, and its expansionresults in the propulsion of a small fraction of liquidwhich can be collected on a substrate, leading to theprinting of a microdroplet for each laser pulse. Thetechnique does not require the preparation of theliquid in thin film form, and its forward mode ofoperation imposes no restriction concerning theoptical properties of the substrate. We demonstratethat the technique is capable of printingmicrodroplets with good resolution, reproducibilityand control, and analyze the influence of the mainprocess parameters. The mechanisms of liquidprinting are also investigated: time-resolvedimaging provides a clear picture of the dynamics ofliquid transfer which allows understanding the mainfeatures observed in the printed droplets.","PeriodicalId":103215,"journal":{"name":"ALT Proceedings","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121666105","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
