In this study, at first, eigenvalue equations are solved by using a complex reflection coefficient and and frequency parameter. Next, the sound attenuations between two cross sections of the duct are shown, after sound intensities are calculated. On the other hand, the above theoretical results are confirmed by the experiments. We measured the complex reflection coefficients and the sound attenuation of two kinds of lined ducts. The experimental results about sound attenuation approximately coincided with theoretical ones.","PeriodicalId":103164,"journal":{"name":"SICE '99. Proceedings of the 38th SICE Annual Conference. If is also shown that in ADC systems the quantization noise and the noise due to the aperture jitter can be added as the total noise power, and hence the exact formula of signal-to-noise ratio due to them in ADC systems is derived. Then the timing skew problem in the interleaved ADC system which is similar to the aperture jitter problem is discussed. We show the exact formula for the noise power due to the timing skews and clarify the difference and similarity between the aperture jitter and timing skew problems. Our theoretical results are confirmed by numerical simulations, and these results are useful for wideband sampling system applications.","PeriodicalId":103164,"journal":{"name":"SICE '99. With UPC, different controllers can be designed under a unified frame, which overcomes the difficulty of comparing control results when the controllers are designed in general way, and the cost of design is reduced considerably. However, UPC also has its drawback. When it is applied to solve the problem of multivariable control, the algorithm is too complicated, therefore, there are many difficulties for it to be implemented and analyzed. A new kind of algorithm based on the state-space model is presented in this paper. The limitation of the original algorithm is overcome. It is an extension of the unified predictive control. Simulation results are given.","PeriodicalId":103164,"journal":{"name":"SICE '99. Proceedings of the 38th SICE Annual Conference. International Session Papers (IEEE Cat. Many researches have been performed for fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) of dynamic systems. In recent researches, it is shown that the interacting multiple model (IMM) algorithm is successfully employed to cope with it. The algorithm proposed in this paper is another approach to deal with FDD using the IMM algorithm, and it is accomplished by using the error monitoring method provided by perception net which was proposed for the effective data fusion in multisensor environment. Simulation results for total actuator failures are demonstrated by Monte-Carlo simulations.","PeriodicalId":103164,"journal":{"name":"SICE '99. Proceedings of the 38th SICE Annual Conference.
