The velocity of heating is determined depending on the current value on the inductor. Experimental results are compared to the data of finite element method (FEM) modeling of heat transfer in metallic products. The peculiarities of the heating of cylindrical designs of two types: I (diameter - 3.75 mm, length - 10 mm) and Π (diameter - 3.95 mm, length - 62.5 mm) implanted into the bone tissue were studied. This paper studies efficiency improvements from topology modifications of the single-switch galvanically isolated quasi-Z-source DC-DC converter. The following approaches were studied: synchronous rectification in the quasi-Z-source network, implementation of a voltage multiplier rectifier and the multidevice switching stage, and elimination of the DC blocking capacitor from the primary winding of the isolation transformer. To evaluate the performance improvement, the efficiency was measured for all approaches in a wide input voltage and power range. The analysis considers wind turbines manufactured by the leading European producers - Nordex, Vestas, Enercon and Siemens. The study is based on 10-min measurements of wind speed from two on-shore sites in the north and north-west of Latvia using LOGGER 9200 Symphonie measurement systems mounted on met-masts. Based on the measurement analysis results, wind speed distribution curves are modelled for the heights of up to 150 m using power law approximation methods. The forecast of Annual Energy Production (AEP) is performed using the Weibull frequency distribution of wind speed for two heights for each corresponding wind turbine type. The results of the analysis show that the highest output efficiency can be achieved by Vestas and Nordex wind turbines, which power curves correspond to wind class III. Vestas V136-3.45 with hub height 132 m achieves maximum efficiency equal to 54.5% in Irbene site. This observer performs a real-time correction of the mutual inductance and rotor resistance of the motor using data from the DC-link voltage sensor, the inverter state and the phase current and position sensors. The observer compares the behavior of two independent observers (sensorless and sensored observers) in order to correct the parameters of the sensored observer. The adaptation algorithm corrects the mutual inductance, which can vary due to change of the magnetization current, and the rotor resistance, which can change due to variation of the rotor temperature. In the first paper a simple passive balancing with a half bridge charger was designed and tested for energy efficiency. This paper continues the work by redesigning the half bridge charger circuit to implement a multi secondary winding transformer balancing circuit. The designed active balancing circuit splits the battery pack in four sections - each section is balanced actively. Each of the sections contains five cells which use the same passive balancing as before. The result is a mixed two level balancing circuit that is integrated in the charger topology.
