The aim of this article is to focus on spelling errors correction in the Arabic language, because a considerable delay in research was observed compared to other languages (English or French). We developed a tool for both detection and Correction, that we called El-Mossahih. The latter uses several methods: Dictionary, neighborhood, permutation, phonetic transcription and language model in order to detect and propose a correct solution to the typographical and phonetic transcription errors.","PeriodicalId":102480,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Information Technology (ICIT)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130616205","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Internet of Things (IOT) is a very promising technology, which are used heavily in many areas of life and with such a large and rapid spread produces a lot of challenges in IOT. As reported by Cisco, by the year 2020, the next generation Internet-connected devices would comprise of around 50 billion Internet-connected devices which are located at the edge of the network and require support for mobility, low latency, real-time, and location-aware services. The Cloud computing is used as a main component in IOT architecture to provide processing and storage services for IOT system but the conventional cloud computing architecture is completely centralized in nature, and therefore, fails to provide real-time and low latency services to billions of IOT devices at the edge of the network, simultaneously. The main objective of this research is to combine the capabilities of Fog Computing, Cognitive and Context-Aware IOT to build a cognitive management framework for Fog computing capable of adopting it's behavior in a context-aware fashion to maximize the number of functions that can be carried out in The Fog and to provide a solution for determining which functions should be carried out in the Fog and which should be carried out in the cloud and how the Fog should interact with the Cloud, The same function in some situations can be carried out in the fog while in other situations can be carried out in the cloud according to its context.","PeriodicalId":102480,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Information Technology (ICIT)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114567715","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Five fusion methods, namely, simple average, mean average, average discrete wavelet transform (DWT), optimized DWT and weighted DWT were tested. The experiments were done using DIAST Variability Illuminated Thermal and Visible Ear Image Datasets. There were two experiments conducted. The first experiment is done using images with three different illumination conditions (i.e. dark, average and bright illuminations) while the second experiment only considers average and brightly illuminated image. The evaluation was done based on ear recognition accuracy where features were extracted based on the histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) while support vector machine (SVM) was used as the classifier. In Experiment 1, thermal images performed best with 96.36% recognition rate while visible images was the lowest with 62.73% accuracy. In Experiment 2, all three DWT fusions scored 95.45% accuracy, surpassing thermal image (94.55%) while visible image still is the lowest with 90.00% recognition rate.","PeriodicalId":102480,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Information Technology (ICIT)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125959717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the demand of sharing sensitive data has been increased lately due to various tremendous benefits that can be achieved. Anatomy model based on k-anonymity and l-diversity models was presented for privacy preservation in data publishing. However, it cannot prevent the background knowledge attack that can occur based on the link between sensitive and non sensitive attribute values like gender or age. This paper evaluates the disclosure risk based on gender and age for Anatomy and proposes S-Cluster Approach to avoid such kind of disclosure. Experiments show that S-Cluster avoids background knowledge attack that is based on gender or age and produces better data quality comparing to Anatomy.","PeriodicalId":102480,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Information Technology (ICIT)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127865819","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Complexity to understand, design, develop, implement, and test android applications have been raised. Maintainability is a very important quality attribute that we should consider it seriously. However, it is one of the most difficult and costly attributes that can be achieved. The software metrics are used to predict and estimate the software maintainability value. There are several metrics and formulas that are used to measure and estimate the maintainability value. These metrics and formulas are derived from the different usages of the maintainability. This paper focus on analyzing and measuring the maintainability of Android mobile applications using Object Oriented metrics and Android Metrics. Optimum utilization of this energy propelled research efforts into many areas of the solar energy system such as photovoltaic (PV) where significant improvement will lead to better systems' efficiency. PV systems operate without any supervisory mechanism but they still can have many faults internally and/or externally hindering its efficiency. In this work, we are focusing on creating a framework for automating defect detection in a solar energy system using thermal imaging to create an accurate and a timely alert system of hazardous conditions. We are proposing to use Simple Linear Iterative Clustering (SLIC) Super-pixel technique as technique for hot spot detection. Experimental results show that the hot spots in the solar panels can be accurately detected using infrared images using SLIC, in a real time implementation. Detection results will give alerts as to where the solar panels may not be working under normal conditions.","PeriodicalId":102480,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Information Technology (ICIT)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121261388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This need has motivated the development of a new system which can help teachers, schools, and decision makers in enhancing students' performance. The primary concern here is to monitor the students and help the teachers in building action plans that improve students' performance and solve their problems. In this paper, we propose a novel system using collaborative filtering based technology with students' medical history, economic situation, and the concept of ‘neighbors’ in order to solve the students' performance related problems. The system combines collaborative filtering with clustering techniques to predict students' root factors (or causes) that may affect their future performance. We present experimental results from a large dataset that includes more than 10,000 students from 250 different schools. We deployed the new system for a period of 6 months and compared the results with the traditional approach. The system showed improvements in teachers' performance which reflected positively on students' performance.","PeriodicalId":102480,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Information Technology (ICIT)","volume":"35 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128950219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper proposes a simple method for detecting communities that is based on the node clustering coefficient which is a local structural property of the graph underlying the network. To address the prostate multiclass classification problem, decomposition schemes are well-known techniques to solve the multiclass classification tasks. Among them two common binary approaches using one-versus-all (OVA) and one-versus-one (OVO) have gained a significant attention from the research community. However, in the case of OVO, the correlation between different classes is not considered as the multiclass problem is broken into multiple independent binary problems. On the other hand, OVA introduces an artificial class imbalance, which degrades the classification performance. In this paper, a new multiclass approach, named multi-level learning architecture (MLA), which handles the binary classification tasks in the multi-level strategy. It does so by taking the correlation between different classes and the domain knowledge into account. In addition, the proposed approach relies upon the ‘divide and conquer’ principle, and work by dividing each binary task into two separate tasks, strong and weak, based on the power of the samples in each binary task. In turn, this motivates the strong samples to produce the final prediction since they have more information about the considered task. Experiments on prostate histopathology images show that the MLA significantly outperforms existing OVO and OVA approaches when they applied on the ensemble framework. The results indicate the high effectiveness of the ensemble framework with MLA scheme in dealing with the prostate multiclass classification problem.","PeriodicalId":102480,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Information Technology (ICIT)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134019185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
