Rubin","doi":"10.17580/cisisr.2022.02.01","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17580/cisisr.2022.02.01","url":null,"abstract":"This work considers influence of heating rate of iron ore raw materials on chemical and metallurgical processes of thermal dissociation of carbonates, which occur during its high-temperature roasting. The research was conducted for the temperature ranges of the existing roasting and sintering machines, taking into account macro-kinetics of calcination processes. Substantial influence of heating rate of iron ore samples on kinetics of thermal decomposition of carbonates was revealed. The cause of the effect of internal heat exchange conditions in reacting iron ore sample on macro-kinetics of dissociation reaction for carbonates was substantiated scientifically. Influence of non-isothermal properties on precision of thermal analytical investigations, which were conducted using the methods of non-isothermal kinetics with different heating rates of iron ore samples, was studied. The authors suggested the mathematical model, which allows to take into account wide range of variations of the parameters in kinetic equations and volumetric thermal and chemical-metallurgical dissociation processes for carbonates. A series of calculating experiments, aimed on reveal of the relationship between heating rate of iron ore samples and evolution of concentration fields, transformation rates and temperature gradients, was carried out using the suggested model. The obtained results can be used for development of the optimal operating conditions for sintering and roasting machines, which propose optimization of heat treatment processes for iron ore preparation, owing to intensification of heat and mass exchange processes during high-temperature roasting. These conditions are considered as optimal from the point of view of power-and resource efficiency. Use of solid-cast metal dies at the present stage of production requires large material resources, which makes it actual to develop dies models with minimal volume of material due to effective distribution of hollows in correspondence with the required strength resource. The dies mainly experience compressive non-uniform loading in the conditions of drawing and forming, which can lead to the accumulation of damages and lowering of its strength resource in the conditions of long-term operation of a die at high temperatures; therefore, the optimized area is represented in this work by alternating rod elements and hollows. The paper considers the problem of optimizing the volume of a metal die, presents a model for minimizing the die volume with restrictions on multi-cycle fatigue at various temperature conditions. The dependence between the volume of the optimized area and the number of loading cycles is obtained, taking into account the non-uniform loading of the die for axisymmetric forming. The main approach to reducing the die volume due to distribution of hollows was concluded in increase the stress state of the rod elements experiencing compressive stress to the limit values in accordance with the restriction on multi-cycle fatigue. The number of elements providing the required die stress state is calculated for different temperature conditions and preset geometrical parameters of the rod elements. When calculating the configuration of the optimized die area for axisymmetric forming, experimental curves of dependence between stress state and number of cycles for 12Kh1MF1 steel were considered at the constant temperature. The variants of the material distribution in the internal die area at preset temperatures are presented. Reduction of the optimized die volume was compared with a solid cast die. For this purpose, complex indicators characterizing the thermal and reduction modes of blast furnace smelting, and integral indicators of iron ore raw materials (IORM) quality are being studied. The object of the study is the blast furnace process under the conditions of PJSC NLMK. The database of the main indicators of the operation of blast furnaces No. 4, 6 and 7 for the period 2013–2018 was analyzed. The furnaces operate under raw material conditions, with similar combined blast parameters and coke consumption. When the consumption of natural gas, pulverized coal and process oxygen changes, the values of the degree of compensation (the ratio of the consumption of reducing additives to the consumption of process oxygen) are in the range of 0.9–1.1. This provides a constant level of hearth heating, stability of the gas-dynamic mode of melting and coke consumption. At the same time, the different level of development of the processes of indirect (Ri) and direct (rd) reduction in blast furnaces No. 4, 6 and 7 makes it possible to perform correct studies of the features of blast furnace smelting in a wide range of Ri and rd values. It has been established that under the conditions of stable operation of blast furnaces on raw materials from sinter and pellets using combined blast, the type of dependence of the sulfur and silicon content in pig iron on the values of the integrated iron ore raw materials quality index is determined by degree development level of direct reduction processes rd. Computer modeling allows to establish the features of variation of internal axial forces and torques in the layers that are laid with different directions. It makes possible to predict workability of a closed lifting rope during operation. The most intensive redistribution of internal forces and torques in the internal and subsurface layers during rope turns under the effect of external torque was found out in comparison with extension. Decrease of the torque and axial force values to zero in the deposited external layer during its untwisting testifies about switching this layer off the operation and possibility of rope lamination in the case of external pressure absence. Internal compression of subsurface layer from the side of external rope layer, in its turn, decreases possibility of stability loss (opening) of this layer during its twisting. Deviation from the common rule for variation features of relative elongation (cid:15) during joint extension and twisting was shown during modeling. Thermodynamic data of Fe 3 Si, Fe 2 Si, Fe 5 Si 3 , FeSi, FeSi 2 silicides, FeAl, FeAl 2 , FeAl 3 , Fe 2 Al 5 aluminides and Al 2 Fe 2 Si, Al 3 FeSi, Al 2 FeSi, Al 11 Fe 3 Si 6 , Al 14 Fe 3 Si 3 ternary compounds are used. The diagram consists of 20 elementary triangles of coexisting phases, the number of which decreases to 6 at the temperature 1900 K and more. At the temperatures above 2900 K, the equilibrium of the condensed phases is disturbed due to the transition of such metal components of the low-melting aluminum corner of the diagram as Al, Al 2 , Fe, Si and Si 2 , leading to losses of valuable elements, to the gas phase. Crystallization fields are assessed by calculating the squares of elementary triangles, as well as the prevalence of each compound in the phase space by taking into account its participation in the construction of adjacent triangles. Using our own method, the mathematical model of the diagram was created in the form of equations for dependence of the amount of the formed phase on the chemical composition of examined metal. The computer program was developed based on the established equations. The examples of calculation of the phase composition of two grades of ferrosilicon FeSi65 and FeSi75, which are the most common in metallurgy, as well as two grades of ferrosilicoaluminum FeSi45Al15 and FeSi55Al20 are presented. Correspondence of the calculated and instrumentally found phase composition of the industrial metal has been revealed.
