The scheme obtains the fault wave recorded data of the feeder terminal units of each section, and extracts the traveling wave head by using the modified Hilbert-Huang transform. Then the traveling wave head is taken as the reference point to align the sampled data of each terminal, and finally the zero-mode current initial wave head polarity criterion and the cross wavelet transform phase criterion are used for discriminating the fault section. The test results based on PSCAD and the self-developed fault section location terminal show that the proposed scheme is basically not affected by the size of the transition resistance, and can be well adapted to various situations of ground resistance and fault closing angle.","PeriodicalId":101544,"journal":{"name":"2020 Asia Energy and Electrical Engineering Symposium (AEEES)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130642500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper first introduces two micro-models for estimating electricity price elasticity. Based on data from a household survey in Shanghai and Nanjing, the electricity price elasticity in these two typical regions is calculated, which is approximately -0.51, or -0.68. Finally, the paper provides insights for policy makers regarding residential electricity market regulation in Eastern China.","PeriodicalId":101544,"journal":{"name":"2020 Asia Energy and Electrical Engineering Symposium (AEEES)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121428068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Voltage waveform with pulse number 9 is studied, satisfying synchronization, three-phase symmetry, half and quarter waveform symmetry. The harmonic energy of each reference vector is calculated and compared through the harmonic energy formula. By inserting one pulse at the vector sequence where the harmonic energy is the greatest, the equivalent line inductance is increased and thus reducing the harmonic current. The simulation results show that the total harmonic distortion (THD) can be reduced by 45%, only slightly increasing the switching frequency.","PeriodicalId":101544,"journal":{"name":"2020 Asia Energy and Electrical Engineering Symposium (AEEES)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125733527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The optimization objective is minimizing the life cycle cost and the constraints consist of equality and nonlinear inequality, in which the latter one considers electricity supply reliability, tie-line exchanged power, renewable energy utilization, self-balance etc. Based on national standards, a reliability definition (Loss of Power Supply Time Probability, LPSTP) that comprehensively considers both the power failure time and number of users with power failure is given in this paper. And the influences of reliability indexes on initial cost has been also studied in this paper. Besides, two main scenarios of microgrids: (1) 100% local accommodation of renewable energies; (2) minimizing the term of return on investment; are discussed in this paper. In summary, this optimization model can be applied to a variety of scenarios in microgrids by adjusting constraints settings flexibly.","PeriodicalId":101544,"journal":{"name":"2020 Asia Energy and Electrical Engineering Symposium (AEEES)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132029995","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

REH has good control performance and has important economic value in peak regulation and environmental protection due to the thermal storage unit. In this paper, a \"Gas-REH\" joint optimal operation model with the objective function of minimum total energy cost is established, which is based on the gas heating model and considers thermal comfort for users. An optimal operation method of group load for REH considering economic benefit is proposed. Finally, a typical example analysis is given by YALMIP platform and CPLEX software package in MATLAB, and the result shows that compared to existing gas heating methods, \"Gas-REH\" joint optimal operation model can effectively reduce the energy cost of residents. The proposed optimal operation method fully responds to the peak and valley electricity price, it can also realize economic operation and indirectly respond to the power grid peak load shifting at the same time.","PeriodicalId":101544,"journal":{"name":"2020 Asia Energy and Electrical Engineering Symposium (AEEES)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134315664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to simulate the characteristics of large inertia and large damping of traditional synchronous motors, virtual synchronous generator control technology was born. However, fixed parameters cannot take into account the steady state and dynamic characteristics of the system. Aiming at this deficiency, this paper proposes an adaptive control strategy for moment of inertia and damping coefficient. First, the mathematical model of the virtual synchronous generator is established, and the control block diagram of the VSG closed-loop system is established. The influence of the moment of inertia and the damping coefficient on the steady state performance and dynamic performance of the system is analyzed. This paper proposes a control strategy that dynamically adjusts the virtual moment of inertia and damping coefficient. This control strategy can ensure the stability of the system and quickly recover when the angular velocity deviation is too large, and reduce the deviation. Finally, in Matlab/Simulink built a simulation model to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control strategy over fixed parameter control parameters.","PeriodicalId":101544,"journal":{"name":"2020 Asia Energy and Electrical Engineering Symposium (AEEES)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131714652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper conducts in-depth research on this problem and puts a complete set of solution. Firstly, it advances an on-grid/off-grid load forecasting model for a certain IES to deduce the minimum reserve capacity of BES that meets the energy demand of important loads based on energy balance principle. Then, with the inclusion of various factors of weather types, load rate levels and the off-grid types, it presents an unplanned off-grid probability statistical method. On this basis, the off-grid loss model and the on-grid income model are established, and combining with the aforementioned probability statistical method, the IES optimal scheduling method considering off-grid risk is offered. Finally, this paper uses PSO to solve the day-ahead optimal scheme, and then uses MPC rolling optimization to correct errors so as to track optimal scheme. With a simulation analysis, the great economic value in application of the method in this paper is verified.","PeriodicalId":101544,"journal":{"name":"2020 Asia Energy and Electrical Engineering Symposium (AEEES)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129391060","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The traditional withstand test can not achieve the requirement for detecting the potential defects and faults in the cables. Partial discharge (PD) is one of the most conclusive indicators for insulation condition of the cable. However, the typical frequency-tuned series resonant (ACRF) technique can not be used for PD detection, due to the impulse noise caused by the inverter in the system. In this paper, Equivalent Pulse Width Modulation technique and Time Domain Reflectometry Denoising technique are used to enable the ACRF technique to be suitable for PD detection as well as the withstand test. A laboratory prototype was implemented to validate the feasibility of the proposed technique.","PeriodicalId":101544,"journal":{"name":"2020 Asia Energy and Electrical Engineering Symposium (AEEES)","volume":"134 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129409861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
