They are therefore exposed to the well known effects and damages associated with these chemicals. For this reason a lot of people have been looking for new organizational procedures for this task. This has resulted in the creation of centralized reconstitution units which are under the responsibility of the pharmacist. This organization seems to be well adapted to implement the new controls and procedures which are the basis of good quality production. In addition, centralization usually causes a change in technology, often more efficient in the field of individual and environmental protection. Despite the investment cost (from 350–1 500 kF). it is possible to obtain savings in medicine consumption. One of the more widely used technologies is reconstitution with the use of isolators as used in pharmaceutical applications.</p></div><div><p>La reconstitution des cytostatiques ou médicaments anticancéreux en milieu hospitalier est encore bien souvent à la charge du personnel infirmier. Aussi, les risques auxquels ce dernier est exposé ainsi que le manque de protection individuelle ont-ils contribué à la mise en place d'une nouvelle organisation, sous la responsabilité de la pharmacie: l'unité de reconstitution centralisée. Cette organisation répond efficacement aux exigences de qualité de la préparation au travers d'une mise en place de procédures et de contrôles, à la protection du personnel avec l'utilisation de technologies adaptées et à la protection de l'environnement. De plus, si cette demière nécessite un investissement pouvant aller de 350 kF environ pour les petites unités à plus de 1,5 MF pour les plus grandes, elle permet, dans certains cas, de réaliser des économies sur le budget consacré aux médicaments. Une des technologies utilisées au sein des unités de reconstitution des cytostatiques est l'isotechnie où les préparations sont reconstituées dans des enceintes stériles en PVC ou en plexiglas s'adaptant suivant les besoins à la demande des utilisateurs.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":101059,"journal":{"name":"RBM-News","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1999-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1016/S0222-0776(99)80049-2","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77939580","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently these matrix are biologic and may potentially be responsible for infectious transmission. This infectious risk and the results of previous healing studies of impregnated prosthetics led us to take into account a further use of an essentially synthetic matrix. The main advantage of these matrix consisted in providing a reproducible degradation rate without submitting the patients to the not well known risk of infectious transmission due to their chemical synthesis. These matrices may provide a well-controlled variation of porosity of the prostheses after implantation. We conducted a literature review of the main synthetic resorbable polymers used as biomaterials which may also be potentially used for the impregnation of textile vascular prosthetics. We observed the main chemical characteristics and the absorption rate of these polymers.</p></div><div><p>L'imprégnation des prothèses vasculaires textiles a été proposée pour remplacer leur précoagulation peropératoire. manœuvre indispensable pour les rendre étanches. Ces matrices d'imprégnation sont à l'heure actuelle essentiellement biologiques et posent des problèmes de transmission infectieuse potentielle. Ce potentiel infectieux et les résultats des études de cicatrisation réalisées jusqu'à présent incitent à développer de nouvelles matrices d'imprégnation purement synthétiques. Ces types de matrices auraient comme principaux avantages d'avoir une vitesse de dégradation reproductible en fonction du modèle utilisé, et de ne pas exposer les patients au risque encore mal défini de transmission d'agents ou de particules infectives du fait de leur synthèse chimique. Elles permettraient aínsi d'obtenir des prothèses à porosité évolutive tout en s'affranchissant des problèmes liés à l'utilisation de produits dérivés d'origine animale ou humaine. Nous proposons une revue bibliographique des différents polymères synthétiques résorbables utilisés comme biomatériau, et pouvant présenter une application potentielle pour l'imprégnation d'une prothèse vasculaire textile. Nous présentons les caractéristiques chimiques et les caractéristiques de résorption des principaux polymères qui nous semblent pouvoir être utilisés dans cette application.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":101059,"journal":{"name":"RBM-News","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1999-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1016/S0222-0776(99)80048-0","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73744879","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
