The Swedish Coast Guard operates airborne systems based on a side-looking airborne radar (SLAR) and an infrared/ultraviolet (IR/UV) scanner. Observations were concentrated on the barnacles <em>Chamaesipho brunnea, Chamaesipho columna</em> and <em>Epopella plicata</em> and the bivalves <em>Xenostrobus pulex</em> and <em>Perna canaliculus</em>. The field studies extended for a period of 140 days after treatment.
