The product-operator formalism for spin-l nuclei is summarized and employed for the rationalization of the experiments. Systematic approaches to the design of the experiments are discussed. It is demonstrated how (<sup>1</sup>H = I, <sup>2</sup>H = S) correlation techniques can be used for the assignment of the <sup>2</sup>H resonances of partially deuterated transition-metal polyhydrido-complexes.
