There is a shift toward digitization of patient’s information and data. The purpose of this study was to compare the accuracy of intraoral scanner and extra oral scannersin different dental arch measurements. The sample size consisted of 44 dental stone models for patients who finished orthodontic treatment. For each subject two digital models were made, one digital model obtained from extra oral scanner and one digital model obtained from Intra oral scanner. An external examiner measured intermolar width, intercanine width, mesiodistal width of the first and second premolars on both left and right sides using ortho analyser 3shape programs from STL files. The same examiner evaluated the same measurements direct on the dental stone model using digital calliper. The results of the current study showed no statistically significant difference between the two tested models, digital models versus stone models.","PeriodicalId":100562,"journal":{"name":"Future Dental Journal","volume":"59 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85090932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: Thirty-disc shaped specimens of veneered BioHPP (1.5 mm X 12 mm) were randomly divided into three groups (n=10) based on the type of the veneering material. Group (A): Discs veneered with CAD milled Lithium Disilicate, group (B): Discs veneered with pre-cured milled composite, and group (C): Discs veneered with conventional light cured composite. CIELab values were calculated for all specimens over white and black backgrounds using a laboratory spectrophotometer and then (ΔE) and (TP) were calculated. Specimens were subjected to thermal cycling, after which the same procedure for calculating (ΔE) and (TP) was repeated. Results: Repeated measures ANOVA showed that both the veneering material, and thermocycling had a statistically significant effect on mean ΔE, and on (TP) (P-value). Conclusions: All veneering techniques rendered an amount of color difference that was clinically unacceptable, as well as displaying much lower translucency levels than that of natural enamel and dentine","PeriodicalId":100562,"journal":{"name":"Future Dental Journal","volume":"44 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77380003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: seventy eight patients need non-surgical retreatment in mandibular first molar were involved in the study. The retreatment was performed in two visits, at first visit cases were randomly divided into three groups according to methods of irrigant activation after root canal retreatment with protaper next rotary ni-ti system. Group A (n=26) Root canals were irrigated using 2.6% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) with manual dynamic agitation using master cone Group B (n=26) Root canals were irrigated using 2.6% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) using ultrasonic machine (ultra-x) for 60 seconds. Group C (n=26) Root canals were irrigated using 2.6% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) with NaviTip (29-gauge 27 mm) with double side tip. At second visit after one week, obturation was performed using modified single cone technique ans access cavity was filled with coronal restoration. After two visits root canal treatment and a specific method of agitation, depending on each group, the patients were given a questionnaire on which the patient would mark the degree of pain in a scale from 0 to 10 at 6, 12, 24, 48 72 hrs and one week post-obturation. Data were statistically analyzed with a significance level of P ≤0.05. Results: At 6,12,24 hrs., there was significant difference between the groups in pain intensity where control group C (Navitip with side vented needle) showed more pain scores than in the intervention groups (Ultra X and manual dynamic agitation). On the other hand, at 48, 72 hours and 7 days post- operative, there was no statistically significant difference in pain among tested groups. Conclusion: Agitation of the irrigation is reliable safe to clinican and effective as final step irrigation protocol with successful management of postoperative pain in retreatment cases. The intensity of postoperative pain decreased with time regardless of final irrigation protocol used.","PeriodicalId":100562,"journal":{"name":"Future Dental Journal","volume":"5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87340308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So, we aim to assess the efficiency of hyaluronic acid with xenograft mixture in post extraction alveolar sockets to decelerate resorption of dental alveolar ridge. Materials and Methods: A total of twelve patients with twenty nonrestorable maxillary premolars, which were extracted atraumatically are included in this study. Twenty extracted sockets were divided randomly into two equal groups. Sockets were grafted as follows: Group (I) sockets were grafted by xenograft mixed with hyaluronic acid; Group (II) sockets were grafted by xenograft alone. CBCT scans are made for each patient to measure bone density while pain assessment was done by VAS (visual analogue scale) for pain postoperatively. Results: All preserved sockets enrolled in this study received final crowns over the abutments and the Osseo integrated implants were in fully function position without any complication. According to VAS pain recorded a higher mean value (7.4±1.35) for Group (I), in comparison to Group (II) (4.2±1.48). The differences between study and control groups were statistically significant (p=0.00). While Radiographic bone density Group (I) recorded a higher mean value (879.09±118.76), in comparison to Group (II) (546.18±123.61). Tooth loss is accompanied by bone loss in all dimensions, so preservation of the bone is mandatory for placement of dental implant. Immediate implant can preserve alveolar bone. Due to difference in shape between the implants and extracted roots a gap appears between the immediately placed implant and the extraction socket resulting in jumping distance, Bone grafts are commonly used to fill this gap, recent studies suggest that jumping gaps shouldn’t always be grafted. Low level bio stimulation has stimulatory effect on bone cells so it can be used in immediate implants to increase bone formation around the implants. Materials and methods: this study was carried in the hospital of future university. A total of twelve patients with non-restorable mandibular molar participated in this study. A total of twenty implants were placed immediately in mandibular molar region without bone grafting, thew were divided equally into two groups. Surgical technique was similar for both groups. After immediate implant placement with primary stability of 35 N, both groups received custom made healing collar using flowable composite to seal the jumping distance.The study group (intervention) received a total of 60J/cm2 .10J/cm2 3 days before extraction, another 10J/cm2 at the fresh socket, another 10 J/cm2 after osteotomy, another 10J/cm2 after implant placement, another 20J/cm2 at the follow up visit with 3 days interval. After six weeks secondary implant stability was measured for both groups using Resonance Frequency Analysis device (RFA). Prosthetic phases started for implants that showed sufficient secondary stability. Results: All implants enrolled in this study showed sufficient secondary stability except for one totally avulsed implant from the control group. Study group showed more stability upon measuring using RFA device after six weeks of implant placement. The study group has shown a higher secondary stability compared to control group, the mean ISQ value of study (71.89±2.67) was significantly higher than control (62.43±8.62). Conclusion: Based on the results of our study we concluded that low level diode laser 980nm has a stimulatory effect on bone formation when applied before, during and after immediate implant placement, According to this study 60J/cm2 is recommended dose and it also gave better soft tissue healing results","PeriodicalId":100562,"journal":{"name":"Future Dental Journal","volume":"2014 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82615527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Patients and methods: this study was based on a total of 12 implants placed in 4 patients, 2 of which were males and 2 females. Patients were divided into 2 groups, both treated with implants placed with exposed threads 3 mm crestally and covered buccolingually with the laminar bone membrane; group 1 received autogenous bone obtained from the same surgical site using 4.5 diameter ACM bur mixed with PRP and packed around the crestally exposed implant threads. Group 2 received xenograft bone particles mixed with PRP and packed around the crestally exposed implant threads in the same manner. Results: CBCT was done pre-operatively, immediate post-operatively and 4 months post-operatively for each implant to compare the bone gain radiographically. In group 1, the mean amount of residual bone height pre-operatively was 7.8 mm (SD 0.86) and increased to 14.44 mm (SD 1.75) and 14.1 mm (SD 1.85) immediate and 4 months post-operatively, respectively. The mean amount of bone gain after 4 months was 6.3 mm, denoting a minimal amount of graft loss during the first 4 postoperative months was 0.27 mm (less than 2%). In group 2, the mean amount of residual bone height pre-operatively was 8.37 mm (SD 0.99) and increased to 12.86 mm (SD 1.75) and 12.53 mm (SD 1.65) immediate and 4 months post-operatively, respectively. The mean amount of bone gain after 4 months was 4.16 mm, denoting a minimal amount of graft loss during the first 4 postoperative months was 0.33 mm (less than 3%). Upon comparing bone gain in both groups, Group I (Autogenous) had a bone gain of 6.33 mm versus 4.16 mm for Group II (Xenograft). Denoting more gain in Group I (autogenous). While the amount of graft loss between the immediate and 4 months postoperative CBCT was less than 2% and less than 3% in the autogenous versus the xenograft group respectively. Conclusion: Cases initially lacking keratinized mucosa will need soft tissue intervention along with this technique. Exposure after 4 months appeared to have been too early, which lead to bone loss and exposed threads. Bilateral augmentation has led to patients using the grafted edentulous sites for mastication early following soft tissue healing, prior to prosthetics, which might suggest that tooth-bounded posterior edentulous sites might be a better candidate for such technique. Results were clinically different than radiographically in the CBCT, so longer lag time is recommended before loading.","PeriodicalId":100562,"journal":{"name":"Future Dental Journal","volume":"143 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83371373","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
