This paper studies the bilateral relationships between these asset classes in order to identify direct and indirect relationships, positive and negative interactions by using regression analysis, and then tries to demonstrate if a simultaneous relationship exists between the four asset classes via the empirical methodology: the simultaneous equation approach. The international data used to do a regression analysis to identify the bilateral relationships between assets is from November 2011 to October 2021 on a monthly basis. The study relies on many theoretical fi ndings to identify the negative or positive linkage. The main goal of quantifying these relationships, is to check if they are helpful in predicting and timing the next phase of the economic cycle. The fi ndings reveal strong cross-market interactions. An inverse relationship between oil prices and stock prices was discovered, whereas gold and the USD had a large and positive impact on oil prices. Oil, USD, and stock market developments have an impact on the gold rate. The stock market, as well as the price of gold and oil, have a considerable negative impact on the US dollar. Therefore, after studying the relationships between those assets, the results will be helpful in predicting the economic cycle.","PeriodicalId":100115,"journal":{"name":"Arab Economic and Business Journal","volume":"51 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83771965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Providing non- fi nancial along with fi nancial services at micro fi nance institutions has been a very controversial topic over the last decade. In fact, many scholars have highlighted the ad-vantages of non- fi nancial services not only for customers but also for micro fi nance institutions, whilst others have pinpointed the massive operational expenses that come with those services and identi fi ed the negative impact of those services on micro- fi nance institutions ' fi nancial performance. Therefore, this paper aims at studying the effect that non- fi nancial services really have on Lebanese micro fi nance institutions ' fi nancial performance through analyzing the following independent variables: fi nancial sustainability, donors ' contributions, loans ' quality, and operational expenses. A quantitative method was conducted via the distribution of a questionnaire to several Lebanese micro fi nance institutions, and statistical results were established and assessed. The fi ndings helped us draw a conclusion regarding the provision of non- fi nancial services at Lebanese micro fi nance institutions, and recommendations were presented accordingly. Finally, this study is signi fi cant because it sheds light on the Lebanese micro fi nance institutions and offers a deeper understanding of the factors that enhance the effect that non- fi nancial services have on micro fi nance institutions ’ fi nancial performance.","PeriodicalId":100115,"journal":{"name":"Arab Economic and Business Journal","volume":"30 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76943756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We will be comparing our study to several previous studies that have been conducted in different countries such as Yemen and Malaysia. Our study roughly employs the same factors utilized in these previous studies. Our objective will also be to determine whether or not the results are similar to that in Lebanon. For our research, and in order to answer our research questions and test our hypothesis, we will use the following strategies and methodologies: quantitative, deductive, positivist, and using a survey of 100 respondents. This study will aid us in determining the main causes of user resistance to change which are lack of education and training. As a result, this will lead to an increase in usability issues, therefore pushing the users to double their efforts to control the system, and lowering their expectations towards the newly implemented ERP system. This research study was undertaken in Lebanon in approximately 10 different companies that have been using the same software. The ERP providers are limited in the Lebanese market and can be bilateral. The results in deducing that the problem might be originated from the provider ' s side and the trainers who failed to transfer the information properly to users. Communication will be a key factor in ensuring employee satisfaction while using the newly implemented system. In addition, communication between manager and employees/ trainers needs to be maintained. The communication between the management, workforce, provider and management, trainers and management, trainer and employees, are of an essential importance and can reduce the intensity of dif fi culties, complications and the resistance to change leading to reduction in costs and an","PeriodicalId":100115,"journal":{"name":"Arab Economic and Business Journal","volume":"8 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73644556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the accelerating pace of regional development and mega-projects also meant using more power generation and energy availability. Gas consumption in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE surged by 50% between 2002 and 2008. GCC states occupy the top global rankings in carbon dioxide emissions per capita. The comparative study of public policy is concerned with how different governments respond to a common problem. Comparisons can be made in terms of programs, resources, or outcomes. The paper compares how GCC countries have been investing in renewable sources of energy since 2004 to cope with increasing energy demands due to their fast development, the diminishing available resources, and the fall of hydrocarbure prices sources of energy. Some countries are pioneers in the process of adoption of renewable energy policies and some are laggards. The paper argues that GCC member states used lesson-drawing (Rose 1993) and policy diffusion (Berry and Berry 2019). We use the case study of the Kingdom of Bahrain and check whether Bahrain drew lessons (copying, adapting, making a hybrid, synthesis, or inspiration) in the case of solar energy. The data is collected through reports on renewable energy programs, speeches, and interviews with government officials and executives from the energy sector on the strategy of the country in this field. The findings show that Bahrain drew lessons from others in a creative way.","PeriodicalId":100115,"journal":{"name":"Arab Economic and Business Journal","volume":"84 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74929425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
